Cat & Dragon

Hi! Here's a card I made with a mix of Lavinia digi stamps and clear stamps. The trees and toadstools are digis, so I layered the images, making the trees further back a lighter grey, and printed it out. I masked the moon to create the sky with ink dusters, colouring the moon in afterwards, and I used torn paper to mask the hills. Then I stamped the cat and the dragon. I had to go a bit heavy with the shadow under the cat, because I'd accidentally placed him on top of a toadstool, and you could see the dribbly fronds just underneath him - made him look like he had a leaky bottom. Nobody wants that! So hopefully I've hidden that enough with the very dark shadow under him!

Oxides and Die Cutting!

Hi! I recently bought a Big Shot machine, after years of resisting the temptation. I'm not going to admit how many dies I have bought so far, and I know it's only the start of a very slippery slope... Today I had a go at making some cards with die cuts and backgrounds made from Distress Oxides. This is what I've made so far. I used some Glimmer Mist on the backgrounds, so they have a bit of a shimmer, but you can't really tell from the photos.

Guest Designer for City Crafter!

Hi! I am very honoured to have been invited as Guest Designed for the City Crafter challenge "Old Stuff, New Look!" :)

This challenge is to take an old project and give it a new look, either by working on an old project you weren't happy about, or duplicating an old project but with a new look. I've gone for the second option, and decided to remake a more colourful version of an old card.

Here's my original card:

I like the richness of the colours against the gold embossing, but this was one of my first attempts with Brushos, and I wanted to try with a bit less paint (I find it's really easy to over do it with Brushos!) more colours, and to try to worry less about where the colours went.

I used a white embossing powder, and then red, blue and green brushos, letting them merge and run a bit. When dry, I cut it out against the border, which meant a bit of fussy cutting (which I really struggle with!), but I think it gives it a cleaner look, especially against the white cardstock underneath. I added a few gems to make it shine, and added a few extra details to the flowers with a white gel pen. I left it without a sentiment, so it could be used for various occasions.

Ingredients:
Woodware stamp: 'Love Tulips'
Brushos: Rose Red, Emerald Green, Cobalt Blue
White gel pen
Crystal Parade gems: Clear

JOFY Stamps

Hi! I have wanted to get my hands on some JOFY stamps for quite a while, and I finally got a set just before Christmas! I had a go with them for the first time yesterday, and now I just want more of them :-s  They stamp really well, and I love the style.

I made this card by stamping and masking the flowers, then stencilling background flowers. I filled in the rest of the background colour with ink dusters, masking the sun. Then I coloured the flowers with inks and a water brush. I added some small white Nuvo Crystal Drops to add a bit of texture.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Folded Trees

Hi! I've made a few cards, inspired by this week's Muse challenge:

I've used the CAS style and wavy line as inspiration in my cards. I masked the line and coloured with ink dusters. I made the trees by folding a scalloped semi-circle, and then adding bauble with Nuvo Drops.
