Even though it's snowing...

Hi! It's been snowing here, and it's quite cold, but I was drawn to an image which makes me think of spring and colour. There are a couple of colour challenges that I wanted to have a go at, so I made a version of the card for both.

Birthday Wishes

Hi! Here's a card I made tonight, inspired by this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge, and the colours from the Just Us Girls challenge:

I added a few gems, and some Stickles on the flowers, to add some sparkle, The card is layered on to silver-patterned vellum, and then black cardstock.

Loving the Turquoise...

Hi! There are quite a few colour challenges recently with beautiful shades of turquoise - gorgeous! And here's another one, from Cupcake Inspirations:

Here's the card I made for the challenge:

I masked the circle before stamping the flowers and ink dusting the background. Then I stamped, clear embossed, coloured and cut out the smaller flowers, and attached them with 3D foam squares. I added Liquid Pearls to the centres of the flowers.

Recycled Snippets of Precious Papers

Hi! Less is More have a "Snippets" challenge at the moment, and Wags 'n Whiskers have a "Recycle" challenge, which inspired me to dig out all my leftover scraps of paper, which don't usually get used for anything! I stamped the images onto the papers, and used 3D foam to give them a bit of dimension. I wanted to keep the design simple and not too fussy, so I just coloured the flower centres a darker orange and added Stickles:

First Blog Hop!

There's a Blog Hop at House of Cards, which ends tomorrow. I had to work out what a blog hop was, as this is the first one I've come across! Anyway, the challenge at the end of the blog hop is to create a card inspired by this photo:

I used the pink and olive green for my card, and was also inspired by the clusters of flowers in the vases. Here's what I came up with:

I added a bit of sparkle by using Stickles on the flowers, and added the butterflies to give it dimension.

I made another two cards like this, but in blue and yellow :)

Pretty Lights or Measles?

I was really inspired by the Happy Little Stampers sketch below, and by the House of Cards Bokeh Effect Challenge

I decided to have a go, and used the colours from the Color Throwdown challenge:

Here's what I came up with, and at first I liked the subtle colours, but then I thought maybe it looks a bit measley... I added a few gems, in the hope that it would look more like pretty spots of light than a disease...

I'm still not sure, but I'm going to enter it into the challenges above anyway, and also into these challenges:

Made a Cat Stencil...

Hiya! I've made a cat stencil, to make cat versions of the butterfly cards I made earlier. A bit obsessed with stencils at the moment! I wanted to make the same card in different colours, and have been inspired by quite a few challenges :)
