Happy New Year

Just checking in to wish you all a Very Happy and joyful 2013

I have been away for three weeks without a computer but I did have my camera...

First stop Yorkshire, where I spent ten joyful days with my family, unfortunately it rained heavily every day I was there so interior shots only.

No i phone or complicated portable just a good old fashioned British Telecom standard issue telephone, the one's I grew up with, they are considered retro now, I so enjoyed curling up on the sofa, twirling the curly cord in my fingers and using this to call absent friends and loved ones.

I had five star treatment staying with my Brother

Oh I do love a big bath with a view!

I even bought sweets from my childhood (also now considered retro) for the kids but they were more interested in computer games!

And I helped my Mother with afternoon tea.

Next stop Prague for seven days and mercifully no rain but it was cold I was secretly hoping for snow but it was not to be, still, it was beautiful and there is more to come on my Prague adventure

I won't be back home until Sunday, at present I am in my spiritual home on the Provençal Coast.

See you soon, wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Happy New Year

A bit late, I know!  Although here in France New Year celebrations and greetings continue throughout January. Just want to wish you all health and happiness for 2012 and to thank every one of you who read, follow and comment on this blog.

And now for some really good news; remember this post: http://thefrenchsampler.blogspot.com/2010/09/help-free-billy-burton.html

Well, shortly after Christmas Billy Burton recieved a full pardon by the President of the Philippines and after eighteen years of incarceration in the Philippines, Billy will shortly be returning home to freedom in Britain. A great start to the New Year, for Billy and his family and friends.  And of course a big thank you to his supporters, campaigners and everybody that took the time to sign the petition and send letters, which all helped towards securing Billy's release.  The power of the internet when used in the right way can be a wonderful thing.

Happy New Year

Click on this to see it sparkle

Oh dear I meant to post this yesterday.  Our New Years Eve started off with six of us supping wine and Champagne at the home of some very close friends, then we went to a party where we consumed more wine and Champagne, there are holes in the evening, I can't seem to remember the countdown and all the kissing. We were the last to leave the party (again!) and went back to our friends, where the six of us drank even more, I seem to remember taking turns to put music on the stereo, lots of falling over dancing, occasionally on the kitchen table.

I was woken up yesterday morning, by our friends dog licking my face, I was cocooned in a duvet, still fully dressed in the finery from the evening before, lying on their sitting room floor, MG was sprawled on the sofa, we felt dreadful.  After tea and ibuprofen, we came home where I adopted the recovery position on the sofa for the rest of the day, which was spent drifting in and out of sleep, whilst trying to watch films, with occasional forays into the kitchen for cups of tea, Bloody Mary's, sausage sandwiches and fruit.

I am feeling much better today, although a little achy, must have been all those nifty dance moves on the kitchen table. The detox will have to wait until next week!

I would like to thank you all for your support and wonderful comments in 2010.   Hope you all had a wonderful New Years Eve and I wish you all the best for 2011.
