a favorite monster of our since early childhood... (even read the English version of this Classic 3 times by 8th grade.... Lon Chaney's  (1925) performance is the Best version... !!!

  One that we do not remember ever viewing... about to sit back and watch this animated version....

(Complete with the heavy rubber "Hump" and the membrane from an egg shell as the "blind Eye" effect... Chaney gave a truly Great performance in this silent film....

He was known as the Man of a Thousand Faces.... He really went "all-out" in designing these "character" make-ups ... below is (from Horror-Mood by Skywald) it shows the "pains" that he endured to give viewers this frightening visage..

   He really scared movie-goers... many screamed and women fainted at the "un-masking" scene
