For today I am entering The Paper Players challenge. All these elements have been separate items in my craft room. I recently consolidated all of my 'Hey, that would like great on a card' things together and came up with a delightful collection. Here is one of the results for today, enjoy!
| Eggs and bunnies are the most popular imagery when talking about Easter. That is if you aren't noticing the fact that is a deeply religious holiday. Still, I feel it is a fun holiday to celebrate Spring and all things new. |
| This a very dimensional card inspired by Jennifer McGuire. Click here to see the video. I thought it would be fun to create a swaying bunny (see the small clip above the photo). This takes advantage of all the room I have inside the domed space. |
| The word 'happy' had to go with the 'Easter' banner. I found the perfect spot up in the clouds. I created its own 'happy' cloud to complete the sentiment. |

For today I will be playing along with The Paper Players and Freshly Made Sketches. This is a simple Mother's Day displaying the beloved Spring flower, the tulip. Here is my card for today, enjoy!
| The theme April Showers is referenced by the fresh green colors and white space of the card. After a good rain, you can smell the scent of Spring and everything seems brighter and fresher than before. |
| The tulips are from a layering die set that sits on a fresh green background. The tulips are arranged at different levels. This caused me to cut down some of the flowers to fit the confines of the background. I think eliminating the bottom of the tulips makes for a nice design element. |
| Again keeping it simple and light with a Mother's Day sentiment strip. |

I cannot believe this, I am posting this well within the time limit of The Paper Players. I am also playing along with The Color Throwdown. Enjoy the card for today!
| The branches on the background are stamped in gray. I wanted to keep it simple so the butterflies could shine and giving a sense of place. |
| The sentiment is a mix of die-cutting and stamping. The 'spring is here' sentiment came from a word art collage stamp. I stamped the entire image and cut out the strip I needed to complete the card. |
| You would think the butterflies were hot-foiled from a watercolor background but not from me. The butterflies are part of designer paper that was on clearance. I carefully cut them out and adhered them on the mini-slimline card. |
Here in GR Michigan butterflies are always the first sign of Spring. Yes it is 19℉ and there isn't a butterfly in the world that could survive here, but there is a place called Fredrick Meijer Gardens where the butterflies are hatching in droves. The gardens have their own solarium where it is a balmy 80℉. The perfect environment for butterflies to flourish. If any of you visit western Michigan I invite you to check this place out. It is spectacular!

| I like the diecuts for this card. It gives the impression of jungle leaves without being too intrusive. I left the rest of the card monochromatic keeping it nice and simple. |
| Each sloth was stamped colored using colored pencils and then layered behind the leafy branches. |
| The sentiment is what really makes this card special. Slothsome! Love the pun! |

| The bird, a sign of Spring. This one came with a layering and diecut set. The branches were directly stamped on the cardstock along with the sentiment. |
| The diecut lattice above the bird adds a bit of texture to the card. |
| The sentiment is stamped using two stamp sets. Each stamp is stamped in a different color, each with different fonts that add to the card and ties in the color combination from the bird. |

Today I will be playing along with The Paper Players, Time Out Challenge, and The Color Throwdown. This card links to my last post meaning it was a discarded piece that was resurrected to make this delight. Here is my card for today, enjoy!
| This card was one of the cards I discarded because the base flowers were stamped in a color that was much darker than intended. I set it aside and tried again with a lighter shade of gray. After brushing on the color I thought it was too blah so I added the floral details in white and black from the Altenew stamp set, Dainty Bouquet. |
| I like the black acting as an accent or highlight color. I think using the white and black dye inks was a good choice. |
| The sentiment is extended from the main base of the card. It does however, it does fit comfortably into an A2 envelope. |

| This card features a stamp set from Altenew named Dainty Bouquet. One thing Altenew does well is flower stamp sets and these Dainty Bouquet is no exception! It is downright beautiful and its vintage styling is so pretty, elegant, and timeless. Vintage dress example below |

| The top of the card illustrates the base layer stamp while below you see its detail and color. The black sentiment proves to be a nice divider between the two. |

Yes, a labor of love! I have at least nine sheets of cardstock stamped with this set. It had some mistake or another. Sometimes it was the layout that didn't work, other times I felt it overlapped too much. Was it worth it? Absolutely! But I'll let you be the judge.

For today I will be playing along with The Paper Players. I haven't posted in a few months so I am a bit rusty. I thought I would try ease back into Blogland by embossing using my new folder that also cuts the little diamonds you see. Without further ado, here is my card for today, enjoy!
| My mother lives in Arizona, USA so working with a Southwest theme seemed a bit easy. All I had to do was remember the colors, textures, and style of that area and work from there. It all started with the embossing folder. I die-cut strips of paper using The Paper Players color scheme and added them to a sticker sheet. Then I used my embossing folder and squared the lines of the paper with the embossing folder. I have to say, lining up the paper with the embossing folder was the longest part of the card design. It had to be perfectly straight. |
| After the base was embossed I gently rubbed it with brown ink to accentuate the embossing. I also distressed the edges with the same ink to allow the center of the card to be brighter. |
| I used jade with a touch of coral accents for the succulents. Also the shelf for the succulents anchor the sentiment and plants very well. I also wanted to add some white to the background so I stamped some smaller succulents using brown ink and added them to the design. It doesn't make the white diamonds seem too white or out of place. |
