I just love you!

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going be playing along with Cards in Envy. So, here is my card for today, enjoy!

We have a black Labrador Retriever with a very interesting story.  He is a rescue from, of all places, Lebanon. He was found in Beirut with an electrical cord wrapped around his back hind leg. Hearts of Hope, an organization that rescues animals from war-torn countries rehabilitates them in hopes that they find a forever home. Hearts of Hope found potential in our dog, Crown. They fixed him up and was ready for adoption. I think we are the ones that lucky. He is a fantastic and loving dog.

I found a silhouette of a Labrador online. Printed it out, cut out the silhouette and left the negative space for the watercolor. The sentiment was die-cut and glued to the back of the negative space. I popped the silhouette with dimensional adhesive.

Look closely, can you see an ear and an eye! What a remarkable stroke of luck! I was shifting the dog cutout over the watercolor remnant and found this perfect alignment!

Here is my Crown!!

Pumpkin Patch

Hello Again,

I have been busy in my craft room but not so busy blogging. As a result, I'm here playing catch up. For today I am playing along with Mod Squad Challenge Blog, Just Us GirlsCards in Envy, and Creative with Stamps. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This card was stamped on watercolor paper using the
Pumpkin Background stamp from Peddlers Pack.
Tombow markers were applied directly on the stamp using various colors.
Then used an aqua pen to spread the color where I wanted it.
The pumpkin panel is lifted off the checkered card base by dimensional foam. I also added a foam sentiment that is layered over dark brown cardstock. I offset the cardstock for yet, another layer of dimension.

Like the season, Fall is full texture and color which is what I wanted to convey on this card.

Stamping the same image multiple times proved to be a challenge for me that day.
Somehow the paper moved just a bit and I ended with a double image.
At first, I was understandability irritated but then I looked at it again and thought this is beautiful.
I continued stamping using the double image and went right in to blend the colors out.
When I was finished I moved the paper to its original spot and stamped it one last time using Expresso Brown Momento Ink. The image turned out clear and crisp with a dreamy watercolor feel. Perfect!

As with most fall weather parents, we bundle up our little ones and send them off to the pumpkin patch with camera in tow ready for a fantastic fall day. However, upon arriving you come to realize you were not the only parent to the have this brilliant idea! So you wait in line for the hayride headed for the patch. You finally get there when it starts to drizzle. Kids are getting wet, tired, and cranky. At this point in the day, you would pick the first pumpkin you found but your kiddos soon realize they have a major choice choosing their pumpkin! Now that it has been drizzling for a bit the pumpkin patch is now a dirty place full of pumpkins caked with mud and you, not getting a single picture. I guess I didn't need a picture because these memories are precious, happy, and delightful to recall. I wouldn't take it back for all the pumpkins in the world.

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

An Apple a Day...

Hello Again!

School is now in full swing here in the U.S.A. So, I thought I would celebrate it by well.... making a card. I already need to make an apology card for my son's teacher and I thought this card would be perfect. I will also be playing along with AAA CardsCards in Envy and Addicted to CAS. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This layout took just a bit of planning.
I die cut the little apple shape first then the larger apple giving me the negative space I needed to stamp the apples on the inside panel. I lightly traced the die cut outline and started stamping the apples by opening up the card and finding the marks I left from tracing the die cut outlines.
I stamped the little apple first, masked that off and stamped the large apple.
This one layer card as a surprising amount of dimension.
One example is the embossed stitch marks at the edge of the card.
Just enough detail for interest and keeping your eye inside the card space.
The apples were colored using watercolor pencils, paintbrush, and a bit of water.
I kept the apple middle very basic and neutral. I did not want to convey a brown apple center.
 Challenges Entered:
Addicted to CAS: Challenge #144- Apples
AAA Cards: CAS Game #123- Sketch
Cards in Envy: The Fruits of your Labor

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. I hope you all have a fantastic day and lots of good crafting vibes headed your way.

House with a View

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to be playing along with The Color Throwdown, Time Out, Cards in Envy, and Inspired By card challenges. So, here is my card for today, enjoy!

This is amazingly a one layer card.
I used the masking technique to create this scene.
I used Prismacolor pencils to color and
blend the blues, tans, and gray that created this beach scene.
I wanted to depict a weatherworn house with most
of its paint stripped off by the salt water and wind abrasion.

Slugger

Hello PINspirational Friends,

I am so happy to have you here today. We have a new challenge at PINspirational! But before I get to the challenge here is my card for today, enjoy!

For those who are unaware, HB2U means- Happy Birthday to-(2) You.
My daughter had no idea what it meant so I thought I would bring it up.
Most of the elements on the card are digital. The alphabet is from Imagine That! digi stamps but the 'slugger' was done 'old school'. Remember rub on letters? I have a ton left over from college and decided to use some of them.

The sponsor is

Prize-$10 coupon
_______________

The numbers were hand stamped while everything else was done digitally.
The yellow was done using watercolor digital brushes. Take a close look at the card and you will see a baseball player hitting the ball.

These little baseballs are popped up using foam die-cut to the same size as the baseballs.
I really do enjoy the 'slugger' rub-on sentiment.

Well, thank you again for taking time out of your busy day to visit my corner of the internet. I do hope you will join us at (PIN)spirational and play along. Until then take care and we will see you soon!

Angry Force

Hello Everyone,

Today starts a new challenge at The Male Room. The theme for the next coming weeks is all about Little Boys! You can choose objects, themes, and/or phrases that pertain to the subject. We want to see your interpretation. Just remember, to keep it masculine. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

What little boy doesn't love Angry Birds and Star Wars?
Whoever came up with this brain-child is a genius!
The printed Angry Bird with lightsaber is accented by colored penciled 'laser' rays.
However, card's inside is what takes the prize! I tried to emulate the starting scene in Star Wars with a birthday message.

The stars are made out of black glitter paper.
They add a sense of movement only the Angry Bird, 'Red',
and lightsaber can create!
The 'Wish BIG' sentiment seemed to fit perfectly within the large star. I found 'Red' online and printed him off on 65lb CS. Then meticulously fussy cut around him. Not too bad!
Challenges Entered:
Cards in Envy: Hear it for the Boys!

I had absolutely no idea what the name of this character. Well my son corrected my blog post and informed me his name is Red. Yikes! I am getting too old!

Well, that should do it for me. If you haven't already done so, hop on over to The Male Room to see other inspirational cards by our talented design team. It is surely going to spark some ideas and then join our challenge. Looking forward to seeing you!! Until then, take care and happy stamping!
