Stave & Karim Maas - Into Eternity (2025)

I checked this one because I remembered I enjoyed the Pessimist & Karim Maas collaborative release, and I'm glad that I did. Into Eternity, from the collaboration of Stave & Karim Maas is an excellent album of industrial dub/ instrumental illbient, full of good beats and dark & trippy atmosphere. Good stuff.

LOTU - Arachnid (EP 2025)

I don't know much about LOTU, but all you need to know is that his Arachnid EP (4 tracks) is an excellent slice of bass music, going from industrial dub to dubstep, each track having a different flavour, dark, deep, heavy and trippy. Good stuff.

Al Cisneros vs The Bug - Rosin (2022)

From this unexpected collaboration (resulting from a tour Om did with Kevin Martin's King Midas Sound) between Al Cisneros (who was the drummer in Sleep and then Om) and The Bug aka Kevin Martin we have a near perfect instrumental dub album (4 tracks, around 20 minutes). Especially recommended if you like it with a slightly dark feel.

Ghost Dubs - Damaged (2024)

Ghost Dubs is German producer Michael Fiedler and Damaged is his first album as Ghost Dubs, released by Kevin martin label PRESSURE. Of course you can expect quality industrial dub, and this is what you'll get, but expect something less heavy and dark than The Bug, something more in an ambient/drone vein. A nice hazy atmosphere, with subtly noisy and ominous tones. Good stuff.

The Bug - Machine (2024)

Last year, The Bug (producer Kevin Richard Martin) released a series of five EP called Machine, from I to V, and then compiled some of its tracks on this Machine album released by Relapse. As expected from The Bug, it delivers the best dark and industrial dub. This time it's all instrumental, perfect for feeling the power of the beats and getting lost into the pulsating bass. Strong stuff!

Killa P & Numa Crew - Killing Time (2024)

Killing Time is the first album from London vocalist Killa P and Italian collective Numa Crew. But everything sounds very British bass music with most vocalists (Killa P and guests) expertly delivering a ragga style flow, over productions going from grime to jungle to dubstep to dancehall and dub. Really recommended for anyone into these kinds of music. Good stuff!

Dub Killer - Jungle Escape (2024)

Some reviews could almost write itself: Dub. Killer. Jungle. Escape. Got the picture? Well, almost, because, a bit unfortunately I would say, there actually ain't a lot of Jungle here, don't expect many old school drum & bass jungle loops and  breaks. This is a lot closer to modern dubstep. Jungle Escape is nevertheless a good dub techno album, I enjoy listening to it and i'll check Dub Killer other releases.

Babe Roots - Through We (EP 2021)

Did not review this EP at the time (2021) because it's just three tracks plus an alternate version one, and I hoped an album was coming soon. Unfortunately, this Through We EP is still Babe Roots latest release. I really hope it's not the last. Along with the Kevin Martin (The Bug) stuff (but in a vein less dark & indus) it's my favourite recent dub related artist. Deep & immersive digital / tech dub, with always excellent choices of vocalists. Recommended!

Shapednoise - Absurd Matter (2023)

Second album from Shapednoise (Berlin based Italian producer Antonino Pedone), Absurd Matter is a finely crafted piece of industrial dub / illbient. And featurings from Armand Hmmer and Moor Mother are always welcome. Interesting stuff.

Fausten - Mercenary (2022)

Fausten is Julian Caraz and Derek Szeto, and what they do toghether is what we could call industrial bass music (with elements of illbient, dark industrial, dubstep, etc.). They are back with a second release called Mercenary, nearly ten years after their first album, and they prove they still have it.And closing with a Fret (Mick Harris) remix can't be wrong either... Recommended for anyone into dark and heavy industrial/electronic music.

The Blood of Heroes - Nine Cities (2023)

Nice to have The Blood of Heroes back for a new album, Nine Cities, and with the same brilliant crew :  JK Broadrick, Mick Harris, Enduser, Submerged, Dr. Israel, plus a few good guests as well. As expected, they deliver top quality industrial / bass music with a dark and futuristic atmosphere. If you liked the first two albums you won't be disappointed by this one. Heavily recommended!

The Bug - Absent Riddim (2022)

This new The Bug (Kevin Martin) album called Absent Riddim is 17 different versions of a beat/riddim thta at the origin was for a Absent in Body remix. With a different vocalists on each tracks. Usual Kevin Martin collaborators and others. Impressive crew (J.K. Broderick, Dälek, Roger Robinson,Dis Fig, Ethan Lee MacCarthy, Nicholas Bullen, Moor Mother, and Nazamba and Jaimie Brach who sadly both passed away during the making of the album). The album is also paying tribute to one riddim Jamaican dancehall albums. Convincing exercise from the great master of industrial dub, and from his guest vocalists as well.

Fret - Because of the Weak (2022)

Because of the Weak is the new Fret album from Mick Harris, and weak it is definitely not! It delivers ten tracks of super heavy, dark and abrasive industrial techno, with trademark Mick Harris bass heavy dubs, a touch of jungle and some noise textures. If or when you feel Scorn is too peaceful, the more aggressive Fret will satisfy you. Another awesome release from Mick Harris.

JK Flesh vs Gnod (EP 2021)

JK Flesh is the name Justin Broadrick use for his techno releases, Gnod is a English psych/noise rock band. Last year they joined fores for a four track EP (called JK Flesh vs Gnod) where they both cover two tracks from the other. So we get two JK Flesh tracks being given a psych/kraut treatment and two Gnod traks being given an industrial treatment, resulting in something as good as what they do on their own, but different, making an interesting and enjoyable release.

Scorn - The Only Place (2021)

On this new Scorn album Mick Harris is doing what he's doing for the last fifteen years, bass heavy industrial dub, but, as the cover art migh suggest, there is a little more light in the dark in the atmosphere of The Only Place, with slightly psychedelic melodies in the background. And it's good as well. After Jason Williamson (Sleaford Mods) in the previous album this time it's Kool Keith who is invited do do vocals in a track, again with good result, maybe Mick Harris should try a whole album whith someone doing vocals, or producing tracks for Mc's. Another recommended album from Scorn.

Pessimist - All Hope Lost (2021)

Four track from Pessimist, after a more ambient collaboration with Karim Maas (which was good), he's back to his more usual sound, with various elements of industrial/bass music, jungle, dub techno, dubstep, industrial tech... The four good tracks of this release called All Hope Lost have a dark and mysterious atmosphere. Good stuff.

HedNod (Mick Harris) - Five (2021)

Mick Harris is very active these days with not one but two releases, one with JK Flesh as Monrella, one of the more straightforward techno release both of them ever did, and this one, which I prefer, called Five, as HedNod and into his usual bass music territory, in a vein quite similar to Scorn. Four good tracks of industrial dub, slow, heavy and vibrating with subtle mysteries.
