Skeletal Remains - Fragments Of The Ageless (2024)

Fragments Of The Ageless is the Fifth album from Skeletal Remains. Their old school death metal (old school but with a technical twist) has always sounded Floridian, but this time it sounds more precisely very MorbidAngelic (B, C and D albums). And since it's done so well, in great songs with excellent guitarworks, who will complain? No me!

Skeletal Remains - The Entombment of Chaos (2020)

I consider Skeletal Remains as one of the most reliable purveyor of quality old school death metal. All their albums are excellent and the new one, The Entombment of Chaos, is no exception. Even though they are Californian they keep on delivering the best classic Floridian death metal you can find (evoking Death, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Agel and Obituary). Recommended.

Skeletal Remains - Devouring Mortality (2018)

Devouring Mortality is another excellent album from Skeletal Remains, their third one. They managed again to make old school death metal, floridian style, sound fresh (they're Californian but still, they especially reminds Obituary and also Death), with a good balance between melody and being brutal and technical. With their musical and songwriting skills they're one of the most enjoyable recent death metal band and this new album is another proof of this.

Skeletal remains - Condemned to misery (2015)

Condemned to Misery is the second album from Skeletal remains. They are from California but their old school death metal has clearly a floridian taste. On the more melodic and technical side of floridian old school death metal. Yes that means they sound closer to Death than to the other floridian death metal great beasts. And they're paying a good homage to the forefathers, they sure knows how to craft a good death metal song and play it with the musicianship the style asks for. Condemned to misery is really an enjoyable death metal album.
