Hateful Abandon - Threat (2025)

Hateful Abandon is a band from Bristol, existing since 2004, their fourth album Threat (released by Sentient Ruin) is the first in ten years, with songs from 2014-2024. Their most obvious influence is Godflesh (which can't be bad) but bands like Ramleh or Killing Joke can also be evoked, and more generally they draw from all the history of post-punk and industrial music. But Threat can't be reduced to just its influences and is filled with excellent and diverse songs. Recommended !

NECROTECH - Necrotechnology (2025)

Necrotechnology is the first release (with Sentient Ruin Laboratories) from Brazilian industrial metal trio NECROTECH. Only five tracks, including an intro and a kind of (somewhat dark ambient) interlude, and we could say it's mostly Godflesh worship. But it's well done, and I really enjoy it, and look forward to hearing what they can do on a longer release, maybe following some directions that are hinted on Necrotechnology : dark ambient, noise, black metal, trap? Who knows, but it could be interesting... but for now I recommend you give a try at this promising first release.

8 Hour Animal - Kill Your Boss (2023)

On Kill Your Boss, second album from one-man project 8 Hour Animal, again released by Sentient Ruin Laboratories, the music gets more industrial metal and EBM, and less power electronics. In any case, it confirms that 8 Hour Animal is a nice addition to the harsher side of the industrial scene.

8 Hour Animal - Resigner (2021)

Sentient Ruin is a label best known for its extreme metal releases, but they also deal good industrial music, like this first album from the one-man project 8 Hour Animal, called Resigner. A very strong piece of power electronics/rhythmic noise, punishing, but not in the "test your patience way", thanks to its diversity of beats. Among the best recent industrial music.

Hold Me Down - st (EP 2019)

It's been a long time I haven't been as excited by some industrial metal, this first self titled release (a tape released by Sentient Ruin Laboratories) from Hold Me Down (with a guy from AMERICAN, also on Sentient Ruin) is really good. It reminds me of Ministry and NIN from the nineties, but with also some power electronics to make it even harder. If you like this kind of stuff I see absolutely no reason you wouldn't really enjoy Hold Me Down. Mechanical machine drums beats and guitars, screaming, and harsh noise. Done the way it should be and with impressive result. My only "complain" is that I want more. Looking forward to listen to an album from them.

American - Violate and Control (2017)

Obviously associating black metal and industrial / noise music is a good idea, yet it's not that easy to do it properly. First American album, Coping With Loss, was a good album, but basically it was some good black metal with machine drum and two noise track. On their second album, Violate and Control, things get more interesting since in it the black metal and indus / noise mix sounds a lot more like a cohesive whole (although this time on some tracks we could say it's noise music with black metal bits...). They build a strong black and harsh atmosphere that explodes into some epic moments like in the excellent Amorous and Subdue in the middle of the album.
