Our Voice Will Soar Forever is the second album for Amygdala (after a demo) and the quality and intensity is maintained on a very high level, with another impressive performance from their vocalist (and again good lyrics too). It confirms they are among the very best current hardcore bands. They just sound more real and intense.

Amygdala - Population Control (2016)
Population Control is the first album from Amygdala, and one I was waiting for because I have been really impressed by their EP The Horror of not being able to forget (read HERE my review). And I'm not disapointed by the album because their hardcore still sound as intense and heartfelt. While they don't really innovate they manage to avoid sounding as repetitive, predictable and boring as most hardcore band do, Amygdala sound like they are not flat and have one dimension more compared to most of hardcore music.

Amygdala - The horror of not being ablte to forget (EP 2014)
Amygdala is a new band from San Antonio and The horror of not being able to forget is their first EP (released last year). What they play is some very intense and hardcore somewhere between screamo and crust. rawer and most ferocious than usual screamo, more sophisticated and melodic than basic crust and with vocals that have something screamo but are also something else because those screams are so fiercely impressive, with an almost feral feel. Those vocals, from a female singer, are maybe what's the most striking about this band. But they also show good songwriting skills. One of the best hardcore release I listened to recently.
