Spooktacular Tag!

So for the past few days i've felt a tad uninspired, I must of sat at my desk for hours just staring into cyberspace wondering what would get my mojo going again, Then I remembered Tim's 12 tags..
So I got out my supplies and got to work.
And this is my take on October's tag
I didn't have the die Tim used so I went with the bell jar, I sprayed the base with 'crushed grape' dylusions, I cut the jar part from the dies packaging and edged with rock candy stickles, topped with a smidge of black glitter and then spritzed with a little 'fresh lime' dylusions when the glitter was dry.
I was very lucky as I had just received the new distress stickles dry glitter and a few other goodies as a prize from Crafty Boots after winning their card challenge.
I mixed up a little batch of the black glittter as directed by Tim and covered the mini skull which was placed in the bell jar. I finished with the little ticket same as Tim.
My background seems to look very flat but it does have sparkle honest.
So that's me done, Still not managed to kick start the old mojo but i'll keep trying!
Till then..

Over at The Octopode Factory their challenge is 'Tags'
Nice and simple..Inky tag, embossed and distressed, copic coloured steampunk dude.
I think it needs a quote or something but right now nothing is gelling so I left it to ponder on.
Any thought's on how to finish it?

A Compendium of Curiosities wk#3

Happy May 1st everyone..

***
This week's COCII Challenge is

Technique 3: Marbled Stains
 page 46
Sponsored by eclectic Paperie
All the details for the technique are in the book,  I used the TH dress form stamp and some lace to create the mannequin,
And stamped the tag with various other TH stamps and finished with a little die-cut bag I had embellished.
I'll be back tomorrow with more art
Thanks for stopping by. See you again soon.

Inky Spring

As soon as my spring limited edition distress inks arrived the packaging was ripped off and out came the tags
and this is what happened.
With the added dimension of some glossy accents, paper bunting and wood bird, black wire and some black alpha pieces they all came together quite nicely in the end.
All I can say is LOVING the new colours
That's all from me today, short and sweet.
I'll be back tomorrow with a snazzy challenge.

WOYWW 140

Hello intrepid desk hoppers
Another wednesday falls upon us in the blink of an eye
But the only difference is today I have a nice messy{ish} desk
And that's because this little lot arrived yesterday!!!
I won all 12 sets of Tim's new stamps...i'm sorry if you know this already but i'm a tad excited to say the least.
And when you have new rubber you just gotta ink it up... after a bit of stroking first I must say.
So I set to work with the help of some ustream friends.
This tag is for the nutty Joyceeeeeee
Then I did one for the little pixie Kerri
This one was for wee Sarah
..and lastly one for Hannah.
All tags were made live on stream where the girls were giving me directions as to how they wanted their tags to look. I had a ball so thank you girls.. I have a feeling more tags will be made today!
After i've nosed round some desks first that it.

It Couldn't Wait...

I was going to share this next tag with you tomorrow but i'll be too late to enter it in the challenge I made it for so i'm blogging it today... {my other tags from today, you can see if you scroll down my blog}.
As well as it being another 'Grungy Monday' Tim crackle piece it's mainly my entry for
The Octopode Factory with their 'somewhere over the rainbow' challenge.
The only regrets I have with this tag is the green section.. which I wish I had thought to do yellow {for the yellow brick road} but it's one of those things that sprang to mind after I had almost finished it, also I wish I had Dorothy to use, but as I don't yet own her I made do with Alice.
But other then that I think it came out ok.. I especially love her ickle ruby red shoes done with stickles, and how her hair came out.
What do you all think?

A Bit of Tag & Crackle!

Well I had the most fun yesterday playing with tags.. something i've not done in ages.
It all started after seeing that Grungy Monday's theme was Tim's crackle resist technique.. so I hopped off to his UTube to refresh my memory and then set to work...
I wasn't 100% on my colour choice but I wanted to be in keeping with the Craft Barn's Colour wheel tag challenge and after picking a red crackle these were the split complementary colours.
The more I worked on the tag the more I was disliking it but I carried on.
I had some little pocket watch brads that were bright gold so I changed up the colour with a copic marker, being alcohol pens they work the same as your alcohol inks would.
***
Not quite satisfied with how tag 1 had come out I decided to make another,

This time with complementary colours on the wheel, and one of my fav combo's.
This one took on a bit of a steampunk twist, with the help of a couture creations embossing folder done on acetate, and plenty of Timmy gears.
If you would like to watch this second tag being made then hop on over to my recording on Ustream.
All in all a fun day's play..{in the end tag 1 grew on me and now I kinda like it}
but it didn't stop here.. I went on to make 3 more tags, 1 of which i'll share tomorrow.
Till then..

The Wait Is Over !!

Finally the new challenge run by the ever so wonderful Linda is here to replace the void that the compendium  left behind.
as she's named it is all about Lord Tim of Holtz and his awesome products and techniques..
***
To to celebrate the very first challenge I made my tag accordingly...
I used a antique linen/heirloom gold spritz mix, but the masking kinda faded away when i added the top coat of stormy sky
I remembered I had cut Tim out from one of my many metal case packagings
and thought now was the perfect time to use it up.
I cut him out and added a little perfect pearls to his hair and shirt.

I glitzed him up with some painted grunge stars.
And what lord wouldn't be without a crown!
I have a feeling i am so going to enjoy each and every monday from now on!

WOYWW 80 & #day 15 Tag

Well i must admit i've been a very bad desk visitor, only made it round about 40 or so last week i think!, don't know where the days went, oh no wait.. I do know, I was wrapped up in Tims 12 tags {not literally of course!! kinky lol}
So this week i should be much better even though i'm still sharing a tag a day till christmas..
But first to the mess on my desk..
Oh no wait.. there isn't any!!!!
{for extra nosey people click to enlarge}
I had a good old tidy up after Timmy's tags finished and now its looking kinda bare, is that why so many keep there desks messy i wonder, makes you feel all cosy lol, There are a few bits still lingering like my timmy stamps as i still have a few more tags/cards to make! And last night i made a few molds {the blue things}
EDITED: I Almost forgot I need to make a great big thank you speech to the ever so lovely Donna {doone} for the most unusual and fantastic present, my very first altered book. Thank you so so much D, it ment alot to me, but i totally forgot to take pics, maybe i'll remember next week lol}
Anyways If you fancy joining in, hop over to the queen of unclean {desks that is} Julia's blog to start your desk hopping journey!
Now on to todays tag...
I bit of Kaleidacolor and brayer fun today, combining fresh greens and desert heat for a nice christmas feel {sort of!} I stamped one of Tim gorgeous santa's and finished with some glitter stickers and paper flowers.

The Journey Continues!

So here we are day 14
Todays little number was created with the ideas from day 2's tag,
Tim showed this example using the distress re-inker pad
So i ran with it and created this...
Nice and simple but kinda pretty don't ya think!
This fits just perfectly with this weeks Simon Says Stamp'n'Show 'Use a Tim Holtz technique' challenge
See ya again tomorrow, internet permitting as it's been going haywire lately!

Tag Team...

Ok so all the decorating is done, most of the new furniture is in {although waiting on a couple more units}
The desk is partially set up which means i could finally have a little play with my stash as was getting withdrawal.
And just in time too {as c.o.c.c will have a new challenge on monday}..
This is my Shabby Chic effort for the COC challenge.. Page 49 this time I believe.
I painted my tag using Snow Cap and overpainted with Lettuce.. At first it was a bit hit and miss as my embossed bit was picking up all the green so i let a dry {obviously didn't leave it long enough the first time} and then buffed it clean. I finished by giving it a bit more distress with a few swishes of snow cap once i'd stamped all the black images.
***
The next tag i made was for week #25 of the UK Stampers weekly challenge.
It has to include..
1. Something Shiny
2. Numbers
3. Stamped image of a child.
base coat on tag is PT 'walnut' ink
Girl image..{tim stamp in memento black}.. check
numbers..{tim alphabet die}.. check
shiny.. enamel accents over numbers.. check
plus some filmstrip and wording,{both tim dies}to finish
If you want a chance to own these tags I will be sending both off for this months Art Raffle as the theme this month is 'Tags' so hop on over.. You can win, but only if you join in!

Quick off the mark...

In contrast to my last post, I'm getting my entry in super early for this weeks Sunday Stamper challenge
with.... oops another tag...
I just cant seem to resist the silky smooth texture of these manilla and white beauties at the moment.
Hels theme this week is to use 'Red'
and thats just what i've done, along with the use of some timmy-tastic stamps and a smidge of 'forever red' perfect pearls
Oh and not forgetting the alteration tickets die {i'm working my way to owning them all you know lol} another instant fav for me and must have.
So now you've seen mine.. go paint the town red and show me {and hels of course} yours!
