Put A Bird On It!

Ok own up.. who stole my week.
Was it you? I just don't know where it went.
But i'm back now with a double helping of arty goodness.
Firstly i'd like to share my offering for this weeks Pan Pastel Challenge
They have an 'animal' theme but not really having any animal stash
I opted to 'put a bird on it' {click for funny anecdote}
I covered the page with text then brushed over with permanent red & hansa yellow pan pastel.
I then stamped the border and small leaf vine in black, I masked the leaves and then stamped the larger leaf vine with phthalo green pan pastel so it gave a lovely muted effect, then coloured in the leaves with the same colour.
I did a bit of posca pen work on the leaves and border.
To finish I die cut the bird and cage in acetate, gave them a light sand and coloured with pan pastel, to really make the colour pop on the bird a stuck some text behind it. Then all that was left was to find a quote I liked which I punched out using my dymo label maker.
The reason i've used a ton of PP's on the project isn't just coz of the challenge, but coz i've been doing an Uber Media online workshop with the fab Nathalie. So i'm putting into practice all the things i'm learning.
Right if your still with me, I said there were 2 pieces of arty goodness and the second can be found HERE as it's the start of my week for the Snazzy's DT
Here's a sneak peek to try and coax you over for a better view x
Thanks for the visit

PP Play...

And no i'm not stuttering..
This is my entry for this weeks Pan Pastel Challenge
They have a 'happy birthday' theme

I used versamark through a stencil, then brushed the pan pastel all over the base card.
I stamped 'head' onto plain white card, as I did with the MME funday stamps, cut um all out and played till I found the layout you see b4 you.
Simples... But I like it.
What do you think?

TOFF # 32

This weeks Octopode Factory Challenge is
'SHADES OF GREY'
So I got out my copics and had a play and this is what developed.
The background is panpastels
and the wording I typed out on my ickle vintage typewriter.
This isn't at all what I set out to do but sometimes cards just make themselves and your just along for the ride.
{and b4 I get any smart arse comments, i'm speaking metaphorically.}
Right can't stop here nattering to you, i've things to do.

2's Company!

 Hiya Friends
Scrapbooking has always been one of those things that I admired from afar, but was never really brave enough to try myself, {something to do with working on a big size sheet I think} Well that was until just lately, when I decided to just jump on in and give it a try, And i'm finding the more I do them the less scary they become. I've been watching lots of UTube vids, in particular: KatarinaKrumeluran to get inspired.
And challenges help too.
Over on the Pan Pastel UK challenge this week their theme is to use 2 of something..
So with that in mind I set to making this:
I started with a gesso base, then I picked 2 panpastel colours, ultramarine blue and phthalo green {the only blue and green I have} I laid the colour down with the angle slice-flat soft tool starting at the corners and working my way into the centre till the colours met.
I stencilled some gesso through a mask, {pic1}  and sprayed some tibetan poppy teal lindy's spray through another mask {pic2}  the Lindy's has a lovely mica in giving the page a pretty shimmer.
Then I got to adding more set's of 2's.. eg: swirls, dotty papers, tickets, rosettes. As you can see all that's missing is a photo which is sat on the computer waiting for my butt to get ink in the printer.
Everything on this page I pulled out of my scraps draw {with exception of the word paper, that was from my DCWV Timeless pad} just trying to keep up my UIUing like a good girl.
And that's it from me today.
Till next time...
