Ally Pally Weekend

So I just had a fab fun weekend spent at the big stamp and scrapbooking show.
My darling Mummy made this weekend possible and I thank her muchly as I love meeting up with friends old and new xo I just wish everyone didn't live so far apart.. But anywhoooooo.
The first thing was to get this shot

Then the hordes arrived and took over the PA stand..

Leandra and Lin were straight into demoing the fab new paint colours and new stampage..

And Gillian was showing off her samples getting Lin to shop shop shop lol

Helen and Lin B on their phones while Lin and Anna just mill about.
Then I headed over to annoy Sam Poole and the MDF man.

I only managed 1 shot of the #PAtwit meet up we had after the show on Saturday, Not as many as in april but it was still nice to rest the feet and have a little natter with everyone before heading home.

On sunday I managed to snap Don and Val of Snazzy's before things got going

Here is Gilly and Leandra ready for their day of demo's

The calm didn't last long as soon it was busy busy

The crowds gather

To the point I couldn't get near.. Gilly was in her element!

Me and my pint size pal Alison... {she's on her tiptoes you know lol}

Then I found Lucy and Lin mooching at the PA stand once it had quietened down.

And that was all the pics I got.. I was too busy nattering and watching demos oh and a smidge of shopping
The pics came out a bit fuzzy but i'll share um anyway.. I also got a tray, set of draws and lots of hardware from the MDF man but forgot to take a pic.

So that was my weekend.. How was yours?

Exciting News!!

Well for me anyway lol
You are now looking at a Proud New
http://www.creative-studios.co.uk/
WoooooooHooooooooo
*jumps up and down doing a happy dance*
I'm a big fan of Sam and her stamps, after discovering her by chance via WOYWW a few years ago.
I am very much looking forward to playing and creating with all the wonderful products she has to offer.
Here is a little something I made especially for today if I was lucky enough to make the team..
I used one of the new stamps I got at Ally Pally, It's called Gothic Gateway and is one of the 'singles' line.
I combined it with the Tim Holtz brick embossing folder to create a nice castle effect.
I did some layered stamping and hidden message behind the door, using 'chickenwire' 'newsprint flourishes' and the 'checkers' from the 'vintage aviation' set, the wording also came from that set.
I have lots of fun idea's roaming around in my head right now so can't wait to get my first DT and start sharing those idea's with you all.
Till then..

Faux Airbrushing!

Craft Stamper have a Bi-monthly challenge over on there blog called 'Take it,Make it'.
Basically you take a technique from the Craft Stamper Magazine, this time it's 'Faux Airbrushing' from the March edition. And then you make something!
I opted for a card.
I used a chevron stencil {cut by my friend Fi, on her silhouette} for my faux effect, I used 'squeezed lemonade', 'mustard seed', 'dried marigold' and 'fire brick' distress ink.
I then stamped with Sam Poole's ghetto blaster from the 'Urban Beats' plate, Direct to the card, and also twice onto plain card so I could cut and layer it up.
I gave it a coat of glossy accents to make it more realistic.
I was in 2 minds about putting a sentiment, so left it blank, I can always add at a later date if I need to.
I had a couple of other attempts at the technique before I was happy with the final card.
Here is one that just didn't have enough pow for me.
I used 'pumice stone' and 'black soot' along with my own handmade stencil, and some kaisercraft stamps.
I found the larger the area to be faux'ed the harder it was to get a nice finish.
Right that's me for today.. Off to do my good samaritian bit in the charity shop.. Ta Ra and thanks for stopping by x

366 Late Again!

Yep here we are a week into October
and I only just got my page for this months 366 Challenge finished.
But on the upside, It's still Oct and I got it done lol
As you can see my page isn't the traditional all spooky for halloween scene, and the reason is, I have had these awesome 'Urban Beats' Sam Poole stamps for over a month and not had chance to play with them, so hay presto an 80's retro Oct page.
I stamped the tape cassette in a light colour for my days, so I could write over them and still be able to see the writing.
***
It's so nice to be crafting again, I hope my mojo decided to stick around, crafting really helps take my mind off the pain and that's always a good thing.
So till next time.

Captured Moments!

As some of you may know I have been into hospital for a small operation to fix my knee, I was in and out in a day and am recovering well at home, Thanks to all that left me kind messages on my blog/twitter & Facebook xxx
So luckily this week Simon Says to Stamp'n'Show 'Anything'
So I've chosen to show a key chain/bag charm that I made b4 my op, I hope thats ok as i'm still not up to crafting just yet.
I stamped, coloured and shrunk some of the images from Sam Poole's Vintage Photography plate
Mixed in some Idea-ology, A fragment and a friendly plastic molded camera.

Attached it all together with chain and hay presto a charm fit for any photographic lover
I hope to be back crafting very soon, missing it something chronic! Sad I know but true!
