Grungy Monday..make that Wednesday!

Ok so i'm a couple of days late but what's a few days between friends..
Over @ Grungy Monday the lovely Linda is asking us to share our Tim Holtz Wearable Art..
Now I never need an excuse to play with the idea-ology stash and it seems like ages since I joined in with one of the challenges so I set to work..
I used an assortment of gears, swivel clasps & spinners and had a jolly good time.
I think you may just have started something Linda...lol

Yep you guessed it!!

Another snazzy share..
..but first MY DESK
OMG It's been forever since I did a bit of desk hopping.. Hope Julia and the Gang will have me back!
There isn't that much on my desk to be fair.. The remains of the last few days journalling is all
A quick close up of my pages..The first side was done.. I messed it up something chronic.. so I did the second side to compensate but I hated the mess from the first side so much I had to paint over the whole thing and start again..hence why the dates are back to front!
I also wanted to share a little pendant that I made as a get well/cheer up gift for a friend..
I know she received it so it's safe to blog now.
It's a mixture of cut out elements, utee and some microbeads.

Grungy Grunge Day!

YAY another thing on my to do list completed.... I was having a play yesterday evening and came across a blank grungeboard bracelet I had pre-cut to size, so as Grungy Monday is having a 'grungeboard extravaganza' challenge I figured it was time to do something with it.
I started by giving it a coat of snow cap dabber, then coloured with peeled paint distress stain.
{waited for this to dry and re-apply more stain}
Once that was all dry I stamped a Wendy Vecchi phrase and a part-section of an Artistic Stamper brush image.  I then used forest green stazon to add some Wendy Vecchi dots, masking off the brushes first.
For the closure I used a Tim Holtz hitch fastener and a large green eyelet {which I now know to be a tad too big, but hay ho}
I matte accented the phrase and then gave the whole thing a coat of matte medium to seal.
Granted it didn't really turn out very grungy but hay that's OK.

Until next time

A Challenge,... Hurray!

Yay, finally I get to play along with a couple of challenges,
This time The Stamp Man has an
'Anything Tim' theme, and i'm always down for that.
And Just For Fun have a 'Metal' theme
So to me that screamed Jewellery!!
So I made an idea-ology necklace for my craft fair.. one of many I might add
With the help of a pretty heart button and some rub'n'buff
I came up with this.
Only several more 100 to go... well I want to have a nice stock for my september fair don't I!
Thanks for hopping by

One of THOSE days....

In fact one of those weeks..... Is it just me or is time passing faster and faster... one minute its sunday and i'm heading off to work and the next thing i know i've missed wednesday completly and all those messy desks and it's almost the end of thursday!! Whats going on!!!
On my desk yesterday was the same thats there today... not alot to be truthful..
Just the beginnings of a CJ.. I bound up some watercolour paper with my trustie BIA and this will be housed in an old book cover.. as you can see i've made a start on decorating the front and i did have a fabric piece going where that big messy gap is but i changed my mind.. Although i like what i did, it's not what i want for this project!

The other thing that was taking up space were several unfinished necklaces i'd knitted, so i spent a bit of time adding there toggles and danglies and these are just a few of um.
I fear that the rest of this week and prob next week too will also dissapear b4 my very eyes and i'll be ranting again about where the time has gone.. but untill then i'll say TTFN
Happy Creating

WOYWW #48

Did you miss me.. I totally skipped a week... not quite sure what happened there.. maybe i was abducted by little green men or something..Well anyways i'm back now and ready to share whats on my workdesk with Julia and the rest of the crew.
As you can see i've had a little play with the melt pot... I firstly made up a few molds.
Then got the UTEE out and filled a few up, i also made a couple of pieces like the cogs by pouring hot UTEE onto the stamp {which i'd inked with versamark to act as a realise agent}
A bit of a rub with some perfect pearls and voila.. now I just have to find some spare time to make something with them...
The other things i'm sharing today are this fab manaquin that i picked up on sale at a nearby craft fair.. it's making a wonderful pin custion
At the same fair i did a couple of workshops, this french knitted necklace is one of the pieces i created.
I must admit that i got sucked in and brought the 'wonder knitter' that helped create this and i've since made about 30.. i'm hoping to maybe sell a few.. although mine are a bit different in style and alot more fluffy..
.....
Think thats about it for today.. oh i nearly forgot, for those of you that wanted to see the cuff i had hidden a couple of weeks ago it's HERE
I'll try my best to visit everyone but my time seems to vanish b4 i can blink.
Take care, and happy snooping!

Bling and Sparkle!

Finally managed to grab 5 minutes to take some snaps of those jewellery pieces i mentioned.. This set being one of them which was a present for my partners sister.
I used a mix of lampwork glass beads and swarovski crystals to give the earings some added bling.

Sorry it's a short post, still not properly back into the swing of things yet, the old mojo is a bit hit and miss, I've managed a couple of cute cards but not had the time to get inky yet, plus I'm trying to get myself organised as i'm hosting my very first swap on UK Stampers ..
Wanna know more... if your a member hop over and check out the General Swap section!!
All i can say is the experience will be 'Charming' lol

I may have time for another post b4 crimbo but just in case i dont

My Purple Heart....

Another week and time for another PlayDateCafe challenge...
Here is the inspiration and colours
And here is what i came up with
I'd not made any jewellery in quite a while..
I went to a small craft show in sept and got lots of fab lampwork beads... plus i have lots of other 'home stock' but had since done nothing with them, this challenge was the kick up the bum i needed!
Unfortunately the camera just didn't pick up the rich purple tones of the hearts very well.
All the beads are threaded onto a wire base and then attached to the cord with a jump ring cord twist concoction i created to be a bit different..
I also made a matching pair of earings.
Maybe in future i'll use more colour challenges to make my jewels.. Sometimes i need all the help i can get lol
Thanks for stopping by and looking.. come back again soon x
.....
{goodness me...well i never... there is always some dummie in the photo trying to grab the limelight! lol}

Wearable Idea-ology! (SOYBS challenge)

While surfing the net I came across some fab creations using the new Idea-ology range by Tim Holtz... I love these elements so just had to give it a go.
This necklace was made using the following
Idea-ology elements.. (all of which can be purchased here)
Swivel Clasps
Sprocket Gears
Ball Chain
Game Spinners
Jump Rings
Long Fasteners or any Brad if it fits
oh and the use of a pair of pliers and that's it.
Just have a play, use the brads and jump rings to attach things together, and most importantly.. have fun.
Simple yet effective.

This piece ties in nicely with this weeks challenge on Step outside your box saturday where the theme this week is Metal.
