Inky Spring

As soon as my spring limited edition distress inks arrived the packaging was ripped off and out came the tags
and this is what happened.
With the added dimension of some glossy accents, paper bunting and wood bird, black wire and some black alpha pieces they all came together quite nicely in the end.
All I can say is LOVING the new colours
That's all from me today, short and sweet.
I'll be back tomorrow with a snazzy challenge.
Stay Inky

Ellefunk!

Over @ the Artistic Stamper team blog there is a new theme for the monthly challenge.
This month Jennie has chosen 'RAINBOWS'
My first offering can be seem over on the Team blog today, please go check it out, i think you'll like it.
***
This card is my second offering..
It was my other half's Mum's birthday yesterday and this is the card i made for her as i know she likes elephants. I used Tim's mini elle from the purely random plate, stamped in different distress ink colours.

My first attempt for the front of the card ended up on the inside as it was too cute to waste.
And made for an interesting insert.

Mojo a No Show!

It appears that my mojo has buggered off on a crafty retreat and forgot to tell me, So I'm sat here staring into space with no inspiration or inclination to make a thing, its sooooooo depressing.
To pass some time i thought i'd share a quick card that i made some weeks back and just hadn't got round to blogging..
It's just simple stamp and ink affair
I'm praying my mojo will return soon as i'm now signed off work for 2 weeks with my {useless, good for nothing} knee and i really wanna put the free time to good use. If you happen to see it out there please send it home, i miss it terribly.

SDC13: Wings, Wings, Wings

I decided it was about time i joined in with the Stampotique Designers Challenge
I've been meaning to take part for weeks now but just never got around to it, till now that is.
The ever so talented Effie posted about a slight alteration she made to the Timmy bird cage and i thought it looked so cool I just had to try it out.
I've used 'girl with heart purse' who i coloured with copics, added padded silver wings too and then placed next to her altered cage home.
The blue flowers are grungepaper and if your heading off to Stevenage today for Stamperama, head on over to The Artistic Stamper stand where the lovely Hels will be doing make and takes {of these very flowers i believe} Sadly i'll be hard at work while you're all enjoying the stash frenzy, I am of course willing to except any gifts you feel you need to buy me in lou of me being able to attend rolf.. well a gal can try can't she! But seriously I do hope anyone going has a fabby day.
Anyways back to the tag which I finished using my trusty dymo for the words.
And thats your lot.
Oh look i totally forgot...Durrrr... The background was a dusty concord/perfect pearl spritz mix, sprayed onto a kitchen towel and then dabbed all over the tag, a lace border stamped down one side in broken china.
Righty that really is your lot now..

Sweet & Simple

You know those times when you just need a batch of cards, like thank you's but your soooo not in card making mode coz your mojo has mooched off on holiday and left you in the lurch..
Well these were made in exactly those circumstances.. So i kept it simple.
I reached for my Tim Holtz stamps, picked out 1 image, stamped it onto gloss card with archival, or was it stazon!!! anyways, i then used my vintage photo distress ink to colour the images, just kinda smooching it on with an ink tool, A smidge of black round the edge, a sentiment and bobs your uncle fannys yours aunt, one {or several} simple yet adorable thank yous.

Quad Challenge!

Hay blogland, I'm still here.. just not had much free time, and the time i have had i've spent faffing doing the boring stuff like washing and sorting etc..
So todays tag is is a monster challenge piece combining 4 of the babies into one.. not wanting to miss out and all.. It includes
Sunday Stamper ' Believe and/or Journey'
Compendium of Curiosities 'Multi-Medium Collage'
Theme Thursday 'Vintage and Tags'
Lots To do 'Shapes' {and last weeks too which was 'Stitching'}
I shaped my tag using one of my alterations 'on the edge' dies, Inked the base with victorian velvet and bundled sage, then i rubbed some vintage photo on my craft sheet and spritzed with a gold perfect pearl water mix , i used this to ink my dotty background stamp and stamp onto my tag. I also embossed some dots using my cuttlebug. I stamped some stitches either side of the embossing and embellished with a selection of paper roses and lace, I covered a maya road mini butterfly shape following timmys instructions from the book page 66, stamped the word believe, and edged the whole tag with gold to finish it off.
***
Oh a quick update for those wondering... 'Project craftroom' still isn't quite complete and i don't wanna reveal all till its all looking prim and proper, I finally have the last cupboard being delivered next wed so here's hoping i can join in with woyww {which i have missed for a couple of weeks now} and show you all my new and wonderful space.
Right thats all for now, Happy Creating.

Nothing new...

Well except for the whole of my craftroom but i'm talking Art..
As i've had no real time to play i thought i'd share a piece i made a while ago and just haven't got round to blogging.. It's a card, sent for a friends birthday.
All i used was mustard seed distress and memento black and a few tim and paperbag studio stamps.
The bee that is centred is stamped onto acetate just for a little interest.
Well thats my short and sweet post for today.. I should be getting delivery of my new desk today so inkyness i am hoping will ensue shortly after this happens.. watch this space..

x Happy Father's Day x

This is the card i made for my daddy to wish him a special day today
It fits in with the OneStopCraft challenge with their 'One for the Boys' theme
I inked the card with barn door, stamped 3 of timmy's lions also in barn door {as it is world cup time you know!!!} and my dad does like a bit of the old footy...
I then stamped the dad letters onto some old book page and glossy accented some fragments over each one, i then cut them out and placed a letter on each lion, gave the middle lion a gold dabber crown, added the other wording.. and then to fill the plain gap that was left at the bottom i used the timmy stars.
Simple but quite effective, just hope my daddy likes it.
Sending all my love to you Dad, today and always xx
I also did a card for my OH's Dad and you can see that one HERE

A Splash of Colour!

Is the theme this time round @ the PlayDateCafe
You have to use Black and White and a splash of 'BLUE'
I decided on a Timmy tag as i just cant get enough of how they feel and how well they work with my distress inks... i need this tag cardstock in A4 i tell ya.
I stamped a harlequin background in black soot, then misted with water, let it bleed slightly and then removed the excess water with a bit of kitchen towel.
I stamped out 2 clocks, and a butterfly onto sticky canvas, i left the clocks blank and cut them out, but coloured the butterfly with chipped saphire and tumbled glass and stuck this to some metal and then cut out.
{I did this to be able to give the butterfly dimention and shape}
I pieced it all together and finished it with a stamped quote sticking out of a punched mini envelope.
I really like how the distress inks bleeds..Off now to try it with some other colours TTFN x
All the supplies I used are available from The Artistic Stamper.
Have a great weekend x

Just chillin!

Another day another card...
This time my entry for The Secret Crafters saturday challenge with their theme 'Add A Quote'
You will probably need to click the pic to enlarge to see my quote but it reads
'The journey is the destination'
The stamp is one by paperbag studio, stamped with aged mahogany and then over stamped with memento black.. to give an almost 3D effect.
The distressed background stamp is by the artistic stamper, and i cut the word enjoy with my slice.
Another pretty simple but effective card.
This also fits in with this weeks Shabby Tea Rooms theme of 'Summer Fun' coz there is nothing like sitting and kicking back with your pals on a summers day.

Watch the Birdy!

Lots To Do have a Birdy/Wings theme this week
which is handy as it allows me to share this card
I used only forest moss and bundled sage distress inks along wth tuxedo black memento ink,
the stamps are paper artsy and tim holtz..
It just shows you dont need alot of supplies to create cool looking cards.

Birthday Stud and WOYWW 9.6.10

Hay WOYWWers
Today is my better halfs birthday.. He will be the ripe old age of 35 bless him
xx Happy Birthday My Lover xx
Its his card you can see on the desk...More details on that further down the page...
So this is my new COMPACT space, Having removed the little table i had behind where i sit and replacing it with my 2 new 'alex' draws i had to have a bit of a sort out.. hence the very tidy desk!
I am still hoping to completly change the room about but that wont be till i'm on my hols at the end of the month. So onto the card....
This is the first card made from a mammoth card making session I had on saturday {nine made in total which is ALOT for me}
It's mainly just stamping with frayed burlap distress inks and memento tuxedo black,
a little glossy accents and inked grungboard letters.
I had nearly finish the card but needed embellishments and was all ready to get the melt pot out when my good friend Alison {whom i was chatting via MSN}..was kind enough to point out i could try friendly plastic..
And how on earth would i do that i said.. having not tryed FP and art molds.. Again she came up trumps by reminding me another friend Lucy had a fab tut on her blog.
So a big thanks girlies.. here is a close up of how they turned out...
Come back soon to see the rest of the cards :)
Not sure how we will be spending the rest of today.. guess thats up to the birthday boy...
Have a fab rest of week peeps.. lets hope the sun comes back soon! And if it doesn't.. well you can just stay in and craft or get your nosy on visiting the rest of the WOYWW crew

A Birthday Tweet!

Just a quickie today to share a card i made for my friend Alison's birthday.
I used 2 alterations dies {caged bird and carnival alpha} along with letters printed from one of the distressables cd's.. some sisal ribbon.. a smidge of distress ink and some bling.
.....
I really need to try and make more 'arty' cards but i find them quite challenging.. i can russle up a canvas art or an altered tin no probs.. but when it comes to a folded bit of card my mind goes blank!!
So whats your crafting weakness?

WOYWW 24/3

Hay peeps, sorry i'm late this week, had an old friend over to visit with her 2 strapping young boys of 3 and 5 bouncing all over the place.. which was fun lol
I have a little confession for Julia & the WOYWW'ers..
This isn't actually a pic of my desk as it is today, I work shifts for the first part of the week so its very rare that you will ever see a messy desk on a wednesday....Soooooo i took a shot of things mid flow on a project last thursday/friday...
As you can see i have a bit of, well, everything out lol
The reason for the mess... The blue and orange piece you see was an attempt to make a Wendy Vecchi style project.. but without the use of any of her stamps as i dont own any.
Please note i said 'attempt'...I figured some of my fabby Artistic Stamper backgrounds would give me a great base to start, which they did but then it all went pear shaped, I just couldn't get her style no mater what i did..and believe me i tryed... for 2 days i tryed!
And then i gave up and made some cards instead.
I used the same inky background as mentioned in yesterdays card.
But todays stamps are the stunning window from the Architecture plate
A very cool jumbled letters from the Family Values plate and a couple of dog style tags from the alphabet and tags plate
I found it a little hard not to keep adding to this card as it seems so plain but i know anything else on it would just make it look fussy so it is what it is.
Thanks for stopping by x

Spring time fun!

I'm a little behind again this month and realised i needed to get some cards made up quick smart.. I had a look around and found Lots to Do and Soartful both have a spring time challenge so that was the inspiration for this card.
I made up a batch of inky splodgy backgrounds using my craft sheet, distress inks and a mini mister.
I stamped Jigsaw pieces on one of the inky backgrounds and cut them out, and the Dragonfly was stamped in black onto an inky background and then stamped again onto parchment paper, blinged with stickles, then this was placed over the first image to add dimention.
Im not very good at quick/minimal cards, to me this still looks like it needs more but i do like it.. Do you?
I'll be back tomorrow with another card and my workspace confession!

WOYWW {17/3}

Its that time of the week again to share the space you craft in with Julia and the WOYWW crew.
As you can see from last week its getting more and more messy as the time passes.
I was super cuffed when my 2 new Tims alterations dies turned up that i went a bit mad and cut tons of tickets.......You may also spy a little altered luggage case
These plain paper mache cases come in a set of 2 and are available from The Artistic Stamper HERE
I coloured my case with walnut stain and vintage photo distress inks, and then pasted lots of travel bits from an old HOTP pad i had, I gave the whole thing a coat of matt medium to seal it.
As you can see i punched ALOT of tickets lol
Right i must scoot off to work now... but i'll be getting inky tomorrow! And visiting all your workdesks too!
So i'll be back soon with more art!

Busy Busy Busy!!!

OK you got me, i'm not super busy like that title claims... but i am entering the
Lots To Do challenge with this weeks theme which is 'Distressed'
I can't believe its saturday already, All i can say is,"wow the adults were right", the older you get the more time flys by, talking of flying that leads you nicely to my entry...
I sliced into a canvas and wrapped the cut pieces round the frame to create a shadow box type thingy, I backed it with my 'distressed' piece of cardboard.
The frame itself i coated with distress crackle paint and then splodged on some distress ink to darken the colour, it didn't really crackle like i'd hoped but it did leave a cool textured finish which was good enough for me.
I punched out a bunch of circles in white card and proceeded to ink and stamp em using Timmy products, these once dry were stuck inside bottletops and filled with UTEE adding a sprinkle of micro beads while the UTEE was still hot.
I created a little birdy scene inside the frame, making a cage from wire and cutting the bird from an old book page.
The white mass behind him is actually UTEE, which i poured direct from melting pot to TSS big daddy mould , i then dusted it with a smidge of perfect pearls.
I printed the wording on my comp as couldn't find any sayings i liked so i made up my own.
Finished with some twigs from my garden and a few musical notes and you have the finished artical.
***
I've no actual plans today for me which means a spot of crafting me thinks lol... was hoping to get an email with good news but i don't think its coming to me.. never mind.. am sure someones weekend will be made special, the lucky buggers... sorry don't mind me lol... i'm waffling to myslef here...
So do you have Lots to do today?...
Have a fab weekend peeps x
