Simon Says Messy

Over at Simon Says Stamp'n'Show their theme as you may have guessed is 'something messy'.
And there is nothing messier than Gelli plate art
I liked one of the sheets I did so much I attached into my journal and added some inky stamping

I used one of Dina Wakely's stamps as my focus with some double stamping of some 'invoke art' words
Simple but effect, as I didn't want to cover up the cool background.
Thanks for stopping by x

New Year New Journal

Although I still had a couple of pages left in my 2012 journal I wanted to start a fresh.
I like the idea of having a yearly journal to work in to look back and see exactly what I accomplished throughout the year.
This is my first page:
Although I enjoyed the whole calender challenge last year I always felt bad for not filling in all the days so this year i've decided to just make a month page to separate my year.
I'm taking part again in this years Creative Jump Start organised by Nat Kalbach {you can still sign up}
And this page was totally inspired after watching Day #2 Julie Fei-Fan Balzer play with stencils.
This is certainly not my usual style, but something I had been aspiring to, to be more daring with colour, and leave white spaces.. I'm real happy with how it came out.
***
I have been a busy little bee the past couple of days,  results of which will appear on my blog in the not to distant future.. Till then.

2012 Arty Review

Well here we are the last day of 2012..
Was it a good one for you?
Mine had it's up's and down's {a lot of downs} so i'm kinda looking forward to a more positive 2013.
I though i'd do a quick share of some of my fav projects of 2012..
Having a quick look back it seems that papercraft and altering were my main focus and that stamping took a bit of a back seat, apart from in my journal!

2012 also saw me teach my very first workshop for Snazzy's.. {The highlight of my year}
I hope 2013 allows me to teach some more as I really enjoyed the experience.
***
I also wanted to show all together my 366 Calender Challenge pages
I wasn't very good at filling in all the dates but the process was great fun.
So thank you Kate for hosting.
*****
All that's left for me to do now is to
Wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR to come
*****
Oh before I go.. If you don't have plans for {Today} New Years there is a mammoth
Stream-a-thon happening on UStream.. Starting at about 11.30 am with some of the Auzzie Gals ringing in their new year first.. then moving along to the UK {and a couple of other places} .. I'll be live from 10.30-11.30PM with my friend Lily straight after seeing in our New Year... followed by Gals from Canada and the US... For more info check out THIS BLOG
 *****
Thank you for supporting me in my creative journey by visiting my blog and leaving lovely comments.
See you in 2013

WOYWW 185

T'was the desk before Christmas and all through the flat
not a lot was stirring, not even a cat!
Hay die hard desk hoppers, Are you all set for next week then?
I AM, well I mean all my cards are made {and sent} and my desk is Christmas free...
Well apart from some little festive sprigs {great card fodder} that I picked up at the charity shop.
Other bits on my desk are from one of my local craft shops 'Craftasmic' that I visited on Monday, a little treat for myself as i've not been shopping in town for months.
And what you can see under all the stash is my latest journal page
I've been watching alot of Leandra's UTubes and was inspired to have a play, It was so nice not making something christmassy!
Right I must crack on, I've still got presents to wrap and desks to hop round.
If I don't see you before
HAVE A VERY
And remember...Stay Inky

I did it!

Ho Ho Holy crap it's December already!!
But what that does mean is i've managed to stay on track and complete a whole year's worth of 366 Calender Challenge pages.
I may not have always been on time but I did it.. and I'm rather proud of myself lol
Here is my Dec page
I've gone with tiny little journalling squares coz I have a feeling I wont have alot of time to be filling in my calender, maybe just a 1 word for the day kinda deal.
I created the background using my gelli plate and 2 layers of paint, a base red, and then a green patina and phthalo green /stencil top.
I'd like to thank Kate for hosting this challenge and allowing me to play along. As Kate suggests at the end of this month I will share all 12 months pages in 1 post.
Till then...Stay Inky

366 Challenge 'MO-vember'

Yep I know I'm a couple of days late, but that's better than not at all.
With it being MOvember this month I thought it fitting to make my 366 calender page reflect that.
If you don't know what MOvember is check out This Site.
Basically men around the globe grow a moustache throughout the month of november to promote awareness and support {and funds} for Men's health and Male Cancer's.

So here is my little page to help spread the word.
I hand drew 3 tashes, then stencilled 10 of each onto white paper, cut them all out and used them for my daily journal spots.
I created the background using some yummy fresco paints in 'london bus' and 'irish cream' colours, with a little stamping too.
Thanks for stopping by, Have a great 'Mo'vember x

Dry Spell

Do you ever have those days when you really wanna craft but the old mojo is having non of it.. well that's been me this past week or so..
The only arting i've managed is my DT pieces which I will be sharing next week and this journal page I finished a few days ago.
As the weather has been so miserable lately I wanted to cheer myself up with a bit of sunshine.
I used tumble dye sprays and a stencil my friend Fiona cut for me.
I also used my NeoII's and some washie tape.
Sorry it's short and sweet today, I've not been feeling great but hope you like my page.

366 Late Again!

Yep here we are a week into October
and I only just got my page for this months 366 Challenge finished.
But on the upside, It's still Oct and I got it done lol
As you can see my page isn't the traditional all spooky for halloween scene, and the reason is, I have had these awesome 'Urban Beats' Sam Poole stamps for over a month and not had chance to play with them, so hay presto an 80's retro Oct page.
I stamped the tape cassette in a light colour for my days, so I could write over them and still be able to see the writing.
***
It's so nice to be crafting again, I hope my mojo decided to stick around, crafting really helps take my mind off the pain and that's always a good thing.
So till next time.

366 Challenge

Well here we are in September... OMG It will soon be {that festive time we dare not name}
I was a little late with my 366 Challenge August page, but I did do it as you can see, and I managed to fill it up too.
And here is my Sept page... ON TIME!!!!
I was going to take a b4 shot but only remembered after sticking half the stars on so I managed to get a half page shoot to give you a better view of the background. I used a mix of sprays, inks, stamps, stencils, and punchinella.
All the stars were cut out using my Slice Elite machine, it doesn't get used much but boy does it come in handy when needed!
Happy Sept 1st peeps & thanks for popping by,
I'll be back later with more journal fun!

AJC Page

Over at Art Journal Cafe they have a 'Monochromatic' challenge.
As I hadn't played in my journal for a while I decided to give it a go...
I'd not tried a page like it b4 and this is the result
It's a mix of tapes, inks, paints, bubble wrap and stamps.
And before you say, "hang on a minute you shared a page on wed" This page was actually done first, Wednesday's page was an already started background that had gone no-where, and having done this page I was inspired to carry on journalling and finish the previous page in my journal!
So there...If you wanna see me creating the pages, you can watch my UStream vid HERE.
Happy Friday and have a great bank holiday weekend xx

Bright Journal Play.

So the theme this week over on the Pan Pastel Challenge this week is 'Bright Colours' so I decided to have a little play in my journal seeing as it is nearly April and I had not done a single page this month.
The page has a pan pastel base, a layer of gesso, more pastels, then a bit of stamping,
A freehand drawing {all be it not a great one but i'm still learning} coloured with Inktense pencils and Neo2 wax pastels.
A bit more stamping and some stencilling completed the page.
Hope it's bright enough.
