Autumn is Here...

or is it???
The past 2 days have been el scorchio and more like the height of summer than winters coming!!
Go figure, not that I mind as i'm now on holiday for 2 weeks.
No what I was actually referring to in the title, was the new theme for this months
 Artistic Stamper Challenge
with there
Autumn Colours Theme
I splodged some paint and ink about with plenty of stamping to make a journal page
I can't really give instructions how the page was made coz I just got into the zone and went with the flow
but all the background stamps and what not are from jennie @ The Artistic Stamper online store.
And there is a whopping 25% off selected journalling stamps so get yourself a bargain while the offer lasts!
Then get inky and join in the challenge, We'd love to see what you come up with!

As you are reading this I am away doing a class on how to better use my fancy camera.
Hopefully i'll have something to report back in the next day or 2 with maybe a pic or 3 if I manage to master anything lol
Until then..

AS Challenge

Today see's the start of a brand new challenge over on the Artistic Stamper Team Blog
The theme this month is
'Build It Up'
My brain hit a blank to start with, I knew I didn't just want to layer up a card, and the only thing that I could think that had lots of dimension was flowers, lots and lots of flowers. So I grabbed my Flower Blooms, Flower Power & Flower Fever stamps and set to work.
I stamped as many as I could fit onto a sheet of 12x12 retro grunge paper in all the sizes.
I then spent a lovely afternoon in front of the TV cutting them all out.
When that was done I randomly put them together in different combinations, some patterned side up, some plain, curling each one as i went along, I put them together with maya road trinket pins adding a small hole punched circle and some glossy accents at the end to hold them in place.
Next I covered a small collage box with piece of retro grunge paper
When all the blooms were assembled I arranged them on to a block of polystyrene foam, but just before doing this is topped the foam with some of the same paper as i'd used on the frame, that way if there were any gaps you wouldn't see the white foam.
Then it was just a case of placing the foam into the frame.
I though I had finished but looking at it I knew something was missing!
So I got out my Tick Tock butterflies set, stamped and cut 8 small butterflies from the left over paper.
I placed them in sets of 2 adding a wire antenna and long coiled wire in between them.
They finished off the piece just right.
I hope you've managed to stay awake till the end, I know it's been a long post today, but i thank you for your visit {and sorry for the april fools bluff}
I look forward to seeing what all of you will 'Build Up'
