A Happy Hels Afternoon. {pic heavy}

Hay Peeps
So I actually made something inky!!!! I know it's a total shock.
It's all due to the fact that yesterday I spent a very lovely afternoon with my buddy Hels Sheridan @ Craftasmic in Taunton where she was teaching a weekend of classes.
Grabbed a quick pic before class started...
Then it was straight to work
 There was some messing about,

and then back to work...

Finally we all ended up with a cute christmas burlap canvas.
This was mine.

As you can see everyone did there own thing and all are slightly different from Hels original. {which I totally forgot to photograph}
Hels even got in a sneeky demo in as we were all finished early.
Then she could relax.
And I got a quick pic of me with James from Craftasmic.
I had a fab time and can't wait for Hels to come back down south for another class in hopefully the not too distant future xo
***
If you don't follow me on Facebook i'll just tell you my quick tale of terror before the class.
As you may know i've not long passed my driving test, {and i'm not very confident yet} and I haven't really been doing many long journeys either, I certainly hadn't drove into Taunton where the class was being held. But I was being brave, I checked online and found the park and ride just out of the town was to be open {so I would avoid the chaos of the town as lots of roads were shut off due to it being the christmas lights switch on later in the day} I knew my way so was all set, But alas the journey was not to be smooth, for when I got to said P&R it was closed..... Arrhhhhh my worst fear.. going into town on probably the busiest day of the year, but it had to be done.
I repeated to myself about a million times that I could do it as I was making my way in, only to find near gridlock in most of the car parks and surrounding area, I could feel myself getting more and more flustered but I carried on and after about an hour of hunting round at like 2mph and a couple of car stalls later I finally found a spot to park and my happy day could go on.
I know you may think.. yeah so what, but to me I was so chuffed to have made it there AND on my way home I had to drive in the dark for the first time too.
So all in all it was a very eventful day but a great one.

If you're still reading and didn't nod off thanks for dropping by.
I will have another blog post going up soon as I have a ton of {custom order} christmas cards to share.
Till Then

Inspired By Tim

Over on the Simon Says Stamp'n'Show blog their challenge is to make something inspired by one of Tim's 12 tags.
I choose last years day 9 tag, and made a card
I absolutely love the Halloween candle and how by snipping off either side it becomes the perfect Christmas candle.
I hope you are all prepared for the festive season and if I don't see you B4 have a wonderful Christmas x
Thanks for dropping by

A Christmas Challenge

There is a 'Christmas' theme over on the Crafty Boots Blog,
I thought it would be rude not to join in given the amount of Christmas cards i've made.
But i'm just sharing the 1 with you today
I love this card as it's one that just got chucked together with a load of random bits that were laying about on my desk.
I'm not usually a minimal card maker so the temptation to keep adding was hard to resist but I made myself only use those leftover bits and nothing more.
This has been sent to my uncle overseas, I hope he likes it.

B4 I go I just wanted to share that today is my last post of 2012 for Snazzy's.

I did it!

Ho Ho Holy crap it's December already!!
But what that does mean is i've managed to stay on track and complete a whole year's worth of 366 Calender Challenge pages.
I may not have always been on time but I did it.. and I'm rather proud of myself lol
Here is my Dec page
I've gone with tiny little journalling squares coz I have a feeling I wont have alot of time to be filling in my calender, maybe just a 1 word for the day kinda deal.
I created the background using my gelli plate and 2 layers of paint, a base red, and then a green patina and phthalo green /stencil top.
I'd like to thank Kate for hosting this challenge and allowing me to play along. As Kate suggests at the end of this month I will share all 12 months pages in 1 post.
Till then...Stay Inky

Christmas Kraft Emboss.

Ok, here they are, the last set of Kraft cards for a while.
I've already entered The Stamp Man 'Emboss It' challenge once but that was heat embossing, so decided to enter again but this time using embossing folders.
Again these are real simple to make, The top one's are me inking the embossing folder b4 running the card through the machine, The one's below are emboss first and then ink.
And then all were wrapped with some christmas divine twine, and finished with some silk poinsettias, the smaller petals were actually white but I inked them to match the large to give the flower more dimension. The leaves are also silk and were finished with some die-cut mini swirls {inspired by a card the lovely Julia of The Stamping ground made} Right that's it for the kraft... Promise.
I'll be back tomorrow for a spot of desk hopping and to share yet another thing that Julia inspired me to make/do!
Till then.. Stay Inky

Last 2..

Today see's the last of my DT projects over on the Snazzy's DT Blog
and that means me sharing my final couple of kraft cards I made
This one was stamped with cotton white stazon {available from Snazzy's} the the Christmas Cottage acrylic stamps by Teresa Collins, The wording was embossed with WOW powder
And this was a variation on the first card I shared on monday, only I staggered the tree a bit more, just because I don't like making all my cards the same.
I hope you have felt inspired to get some christmas cards made.
Think i'm all crimbo'd out, well for this week at least!
Till next time..

WOYWW 178..I mean 9

Not quite sure what happened to last week, it sort of passed in a blurr
But i'm back again this week ready to hop round some desks starting with Ms Julia's pad
This is a 'been working, mid clear up' desk shot.. You know the type, you've done your project and you just started to put stuff away but got distracted kinda desk.
To the left has been cleared so I could put my die-cutting machine there instead of having to crouch on the floor to use it. And around it are some christmas cards i've been working on.
I showed 1 on monday and here are 2 more as promised
I've been using the Christmas Cottage stamps I got as part of my DT pack
and vanilla white WOW embossing powder.
I really love the kraft/white combo...  simple but effective.

The last thing I have to share is this sneak peek of my latest DT project which you can see in full over on the Snazzy's DT Blog
Oh and for those that wanted to see what was under my inky rag on my desk last time
THIS is what I was hiding.
Right i'm off to hop some desks..

Christmas is Coming...

... No matter how much I fight it! But I have been good with the christmassy prep..
Granted, i've had a helping shuv from Snazzy's as this rotations DT pack just happened to be Christmas Cottage by Teresa Collins.
Here is a sneaky peek of my first project that you can see in full over on the Snazzy's DT Blog.
I also made this simple card after being inspired by a page from Lesley's book project
I love the kraft and white combo, so much so i've made a few others that i'll share throughout the week.
I also love comments so don't forget to say hi if you dropped by x

It's that Time!

I just wanted to come and wish all my lovely blogging buddies and friends alike a Very Happy Christmas.
I have a busy few days now with family and friends so doubt i'll be blogging much.
zwani.com myspace graphic comments
I also wanted to say in case you didn't know that at the beginning of the month I retired from the Artistic Stamper DT, I ment to put a post up then but my head wasn't on straight so I wanted to do it now and just Thank Jennie & Hels for the having me be part of an amazing team for the past 3-4 years.
I've had a great time and met some wonderful people, I just felt it the right time to move on.
And they say as one door closes another opens and for me that couldn't be truer as just last week I was invited to become a member of another DT... But more on that in the new year!!
*****
Thank you all for your continued support throughout this year which for me has been pretty difficult with health issues so here's hoping 2012 will be a better one!

Sending all my love to you all

Tree-mendous!!

Me again.. No not with the last Timmy tag, but with one of his awesome Christmas trees.
As soon as I saw Tim's tree project yesterday I immediately got out all the supplies and made one, but instead of a cotton reel I used a little blank wooden gift box.
It was a bare wood box so I stained it with vintage photo distress ink and then stuck ribbon to all sides like a present.
I also added lots of swarovski crystals for that added magical touch.
I am so gonna make more of these...if I can find the time that is!!
Wishing You All A Very Merry Christmas x
