Bags of Charm...

Wish it was Bags of Time I had... so just a quickie today, I have a ton of stuff to do, like packing for London, I'm off to visit the queen, ok maybe not, but I am going to see my Mum {who's my queen} and Dad, oh and to attend my favorite craft show of the year Ally Pally at the weekend.... Are you going??

This is my entry for this weeks Simon Says Stamp'n'Show
with their 'Anything but a card' challenge
It's a key chain/bag charm I made from idea-ology, a charm fragment and some silver charms.
I stamped on the fragment both back and front, I also very carefully heat embossed the phrase with fine white powder. I backed the fragment with vintage shabby paper.

I'll have a few scheduled posts while I'm away, but will still try and check in when I can x
Until then Stay Inky

Oops.. where did the day go!

Ok so i know i said i'd be back today with another challenge, and that was my every intention..
but alas, I had a lay in this morning, the first in many weeks, and then i faffed a bit, hopped round some more OWOH blogs, totally forgot it was wednesday so didn't even snap a pic of my desk to show..
I am however in the middle of the fore mentioned challenge piece and hopefully it will be ready to show tomorrow.
So instead here is a little brooch i made some weeks ago and i just hadn't got round to blogging.
It's a piece of stampboard, I used a paper artsy stamp, coloured and etched and then finished with a top coat of glossy accents, I added some puffy wings and a hand made angel charm dangle.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Right thats the mushy stuff out the way.. on to my creation.
I've been dabbling in jewellery making for a little while, but being me i do like to mix it up a bit and have been finding ways to bring a more creative and unusual twist on things.
I must admit i have a ton of fab altered art {north light} books and just lately i have been going through them grabbing ideas left right and center.
I've also been at the felt again, and this is the main focal point of this piece.
I made the heart out a fab blood red colour marino wool top, I cut a heart shape out of a sheet of normal felt and then felted the marino wool, building it up with a single hand felting needle till i got just the right size and shape i required. I then wrapped the heart in a mini barbed wire {created by myself with the inspiration from a talented artist by the name of Ange}, because love hurts sometimes.
The rest of the necklace is a collection of old buttons and silver charms strung together with handmade wire jump rings
I used a double ribbon at the end to attach my clasp so it was soft around the neck when wearing.
I think the hardest part was the felt heart but once that was complete the rest kind fell into place and it turned out smashing.
This piece fits in perfect with this weeks Sunday Stamper Challenge {yay Hels i finally joined in} with the theme 'All you need is LOVE'
And  Lots To Do has 'Love is in the air' as there challenge too.
Thanks for stopping by, I'll be back tomorrow with the winners of my OWOH giveaways and on wednesday with another Gingersnaps challenge piece!
Sending out big love to all of blogland, have a very
 Happy Valentines Day

Ring a ding ding...

Keyring to be precise.... while playing with more wool tops i wanted to try and make some rings so i started to roll a couple of different coloured tops together in a ball shape, but it just started to go horribly wrong... and the shape i ended up with was not quite what i had hoped for, kinda ended up with a small bowl shape, please don't ask me how, it just happened lol... nether the less i kept it and decided to turn it into a keyring as with just the right charm for the center gap it was perfect, i fed a piece of wire from the charm through to the top of the felt and attached a key chain. i then glued the charm in place using E6000 to keep it all in place.
...

The back came out kinda funky with 2 of the colours in kinda a swirl pattern, this was how i was hoping the ball would turn out but hay ho, i still ended up with a funky piece of art!
Thanks for popping in, come back soon x

Just Charming!

No I'm not about to start moaning about someone being rude to me, but more about the latest challenge over on Big Art Adventure.
Their first theme of 2009 is
CHARMS
And seeing as i just love making these i was well up for the challenge.

Here is my creation.. I called it
"Bags Of Charm"
...

...

I started off with an old piece of jewellery {think it was a necklace} that not being silver had gone all dark and tarnished, perfect as it went so well with the other bits and bobs i had to add to it.
I joined an ickle glass bottle with the help of some twisted and wrapped wire - of which i added a tiny piece of script paper.
...
...
Also attached were a couple of pieces i made just messing about with my melt pot, some UTEE and wire.
I finished it with one of Tim's clasps.
Not bad for my first bag charm attempt, think i can do better though.. watch this space lol
