i la la love laurie

Behold the handcrafted wonders of Laurie Cinotto!
I admire her creative work so very much as well as the rescue work she does through her Itty Bitty Kitty Committee! I've been marveling my way through her glorious photos all morning! xo

Laurie's toppers are special in that her arrangements are created using
millinery leaves and baubles mixed with her handmade crepe paper flowers!

The Fall Family Tree is one of my absolute favorites!

In celebration of my clematis that is in full bloom...I've assembled some images from my favorite Buckhead shop- Pollen. I am always excited to see what shop owners, Bonnie Garrison and Chris Condon have created, gathered, and curated! xo

Kathy Ruttenberg

My friend Pam Pemberton (whose wonderful flower shop and floral design service, Flora is located in my hometown, Fayetteville, Arkansas!) just alerted me to this incredible artist! Thank you, Pam!! Mostly, I live under a rock and therefore had no idea about the magical watercolor, ceramic and mixed-media sculpture of artist, Kathy Ruttenberg. Anyone living in New York will remember her window installations for Macy's Flower Show last year. If only I could have witnessed that! For now...I'm super happy to take in her incredible portfolio online here. xo *Click on the photos to enlarge!

Madame Chrysanthemum

A new-to-me favorite stop we made in Savannah was to the color-box shop of loveliness that is Madame Chrysanthemum. Owner Michele Mikulec has created a floral design business and boutique that ravishes guests with color and contrast. I wanted to get paint swatches of every wall! I purchased some lovely little nests and feather birds to decorate my wreaths. Amy and I loved her electric red flocked shadow-box frames too! Visit the Madame at the corner of West Taylor and Whitaker street in the Downtown Design District of Savannah. Michele kindly charged my camera battery too- thank you!! xoxo

See what I mean??

Red flocked wall shadowboxes!

I'd love some giant butterflies on my wall! I wonder if my mom still has
the brass ones that were in our living room in the seventies!

I love the natural elements mixed with technicolors!

from hi lines to Flora and beyond....

I made one very important stop during my short visit to Fayetteville-and that was to see Pam Pemberton and her amazing floral-wonder shop, Flora. Flora sits tucked away in a postage-stamp sweet brick cottage right off the downtown Fayetteville square. Visit Flora's online gallery to view Pam's incredible portfolio! My blurry photos on this hot July afternoon are unworthy! Many of you will remember Pam P. from hi Lines- the legendary boutique she ran for years (how many was it??). Pam's aesthetic has always been clean, organic, homespun, eclectic, and unwavering in its rich neutral palette. About twenty years ago, she introduced our small town to some amazing designers- like J. Morgan Puett, Dosa, Jeanne Engleheart of Flax, CP Shades, Margaret O'Leary, Krista Larson, D.A.R., Vivienne Tam, Beth Orduna, Kara Varian Baker. hi Lines left a lifetime of inspiration in the hearts of all those who remember its magic! Thank you for your inspiration, Pam! (And thanks for giving me a job years ago- when you really didn't need an extra (young and inexperienced) salesperson! Best Wishes for your continued success! xoxo **thank you to Amy Zurcher (my senior sales associate @ hi lines who I was fortunate to meet working saturdays at Pam's!) for her help in recalling favorite labels!!

Planning a wedding or event in Northwest Arkansas?
Pam is the only floral designer in the area that I would recommend!
