(11/1) Bubba has had a growth on him for quite a while. We had it tested when it was small and it came back ok so we left it alone. But it kept getting bigger and bigger and we couldn't ignore it anymore. We took him in and had it tested along with another smaller growth. Both came back positive for cancer :( So we decided to have the growth removed, even though it would cost an arm and a leg. Here is Bubba pre-op. He had no idea what he was about to go through!
And here is is after surgery. I expected him to be mellow with pain but he was still his happy crazy self with a bunch of long painful stitches on his leg and side. He was crazy... jumping around the vets office and so excited to see me when I picked him up! If I had stitches like that I would be insisting to be brought to the car on a stretcher!! :)
Once he got home he was definitely in pain but happy to be home. He was all drugged up and would just stand there and look sad!
The vet called later to let us know they got clear margins... so they feel that they got all of the cancer! So glad we can have Bubba with us longer! Now the kids lovingly call him the cancer dog. And because he is a "cancer dog" he should be able to do whatever he wants... lay on beds and eat people food... um no!
