Feb. 4th, 2017- Madison asked a friend in the ward Aaron to go to Sadie Hawkins. It was hosted by our stake and we invited 5 other stakes to come. The theme was Dancing With the Stars. Couples could come dressed like movie stars or as matching couples. They learned to swing dance, roasted marshmallows, played minute to win it games, and then we had a movie night under the stars. Fun night!

SYDNI CHRISTMAS CONCERT AND PLAY
(12/14) Sydni's choir put on a fun Christmas performance and play. They started out doing a cute dance to Rocking Around the Christmas Tree.

Then we got to watch their play called The Elf Impersonator. Sydni was a cute little elf! The music teacher is amazing... I am always impressed at the time and effort he puts into all of their perfomances!! His wife made all of the costumes. This kids did amazing and the choir sounded great!
The kid who played "Elfis" was so funny!
Sydni and her sweet friend Madilyn...

YOUTH CONFERENCE 2016
(11/18) Youth Conference time! The theme that the youth chose was "Have Courage and Stand Strong". We ended up doing it with 2 other stakes. The kick off night was activities and a dance at our building. We broke the youth into groups and they rotated through different types of activities and games to get to know each other. They also learned a dance and then the rest of the night was snacks and dancing...
(11/19) The next day we all got together at 11am and we had a guest speaker, Eric Bennett. Eric has one arm and is the current Para World Archery Champion and a two time Paralympian and four time national champion. He told his story about how he lost his arm and gave up on archery for 10 years. His dad encouraged him to try and figure out a way to get back into archery. At first he tried with his feet but then found something called a mouth tab that helped him to be able to shoot with one arm. He was a great speaker with a great message of not giving up, even when it seems impossible. He competed in Rio in September and told about his experience. It was pretty awesome. Then we all went outside to watch him shoot...
After that, we did some speed friending and then had some lunch. After lunch we had 10 different classe rotations to choose from. The youth could choose 5 that interested them. Then we did some speed friending and then had dinner. After dinner was a variety show. Madison and her friend John performed 16 going on 17 and did great. Then we had an outdoor dance. Whew! Glad another Youth Conference is behind us!
