Iggy Pop @ The Palace, Los Angeles CA, 1986-11-03

I got a 2nd box of tapes from my friend Randy late last year.  More recordings his friend Kat had made in the 80s-90s.  I transferred them pretty quickly but that is the easy part.  Listening to all of them and doing any needed work to make them presentable if possible takes some time.

I've been digging in and had recalled that this Iggy show sounded pretty good.  The cassette was labeled Nov 2nd but Randy's recollection was that it was the Nov 3rd.  He looked for a ticket stub but didn't find it.  I was going under the assumption that this was the 2nd since it was written on the cassette.

Then as I was listening to the show and searching the net for any clues.  I found there are recordings of  1986-11-02 out there and they note that Steve Jones (Sex Pistols) comes out to play on Cry Of Love.
Fast forward to the end of my recording and Steve isn't introduced before Cry Of Love, as he is on the 11-02 recording, and they play an another Stooges song.  Down On The Street!!

Having proof now that this is a recording of November 3rd I look around for any recordings of this night and come up empty.  Setlist FM has the show listed but not setlist for the show.  I knew that this particular cassette master source hadn't been circulated ever before.  But it appears that no source of this night has been circulated.  That is pretty exciting.  Welcome to the world Iggy 1986-11-03.

Sound is pretty decent with a few cassette anomalies here and there.  I was looking at picture of the Palace and it is a big beautiful theatre in downtown LA.  I bet it would be a great place to see a movie.
For a loud punk rock show you can here the ceiling.  It is what it is.  Vocals are nice an clear.  Enjoy.

Iggy And The Stooges @ Riot Fest, Byers CO, 2013-09-21

How about another Colorado Riot Fest show?  This one was from the first 2013 edition almost 50 miles east of Denver in Byers.  In a big cow pasture basically.  Iggy and The Stooges featuring Iggy Pop, James Williamson, Steve Mackay, Mike Watt, & Toby Dammit.

This one starts out a bit rough as I get closer to the stage.  Then it's a bit distant sounding but the vocals are pretty clear.  Fun listen.  Then the end suffers because I decide to go get close to the stage the Replacements were playing on. So it is what it is. Warts and all.  Enjoy.

Iggy Pop @ Ellie Caulkins Opera House, Denver CO 2016-04-02

I was intrigued when I heard Iggy Pop was doing an album with Josh Homme from Queens Of The Stone Age.  I wasn't blown away when I heard the album.  I just didn't get a chance to digest it really.  When they announced the tour the ticket prices were a little steep for my expectations too.

Then two nights before the show I was offered an opportunity to go to the show so I jumped at it.  Glad I went.  Hearing the songs live really turned on the light bulb.  I need to go back and revisit it again after seeing them live.

Iggy always puts on a hell of a show and this was no exception.  With Josh Homme heading the backing band they were an unstoppable force.  The three guitar attack at the end of China Girl was freebirdesk in the best possible way.  And Repo Man was in the setlist!!!   Amazing.

I had a good center spot and the sound in the Opera House was spot on.  I think this turned out nice. Enjoy.

Iggy Pop @ Riot Fest, Denver CO, 2015-08-28

It's always fun to see Iggy Pop.  This night was no exception.  It took me a while to become a fan.  The first stuff I really heard from him was at the end of the 80's when his album Brick By Brick came out.  Candy was the big hit and I remember heard Butt Town a lot for some reason.  It didn't win me over.

In fact I saw him on the Brick by Brick tour but I only went because Alice In Chains was opening up for him right after their first album had come out.

It took some digging into his back catalog for me to become a fan.  Well worth it.  The man is an American Rock N Roll treasure.

Slipped up and didn't get the very beginning of his set and I cut Nightclubbing due to an extended conversation.  Other than that I think it turned out pretty nice.  Enjoy
