Clutch,Corrosion Of Conformity, & Sixty Watt Shaman @ Ogden, Denver CO, 2000-12-07

The fact that this show was over 20 years ago now and I have seen Clutch and Corrosion Of Conformity lots of time before and since the details on this one are a bit sparse.  It was before they remodeled the Ogden and improved the sound but ruined the sight lines.

Clutch had started this tour without a brand new album out.  Pure Rock Fury came out later in 2001 but they still played a few songs off of in their tight 50 minute co-headlining set.  They came out swinging though.  Just look at those first 5 songs.  Damn!!

Corrosion Of Conformity was out tour for Americas Volume Dealer and they play a few songs from that and Blind Deliverance and Wiseblood.  Reed Mullin was sick for this tour so Jimmy Bower stepped in to cover on drums.

Sixty Watt Shaman was another hard rock band from Maryland and friends with Clutch.  According to their still active FB page they did this tour in a hand me down RV that Clutch had used.  Good heavy tunes.  If your a fan of Clutch or COC but haven't heard these guys they are worth checking out.  They put out 3 really good albums in the aughts.

The Ogden used to be a bit boomy so these aren't my favorite recordings.  But vocals are nice and clear and I either stood really still for the most part or mounted my mics someplace because it sounds like a pretty fixed position for these sets.  Enjoy.

Clutch @ Boulder Theatre, Boulder CO, 2016-10-18

Here is a little break from the Black Sky posts.  Spur of the moment I got talking into going to see Clutch in Boulder last week.  Not that it took a lot of persuading.  I dig Clutch a lot and have been catching them regularly since the 90s. Great band!

These guys always deliver live and they also mix it up every night with a different set list.  Major props to them for that.  So many bands go on tour and play the same set in every town.

The Boulder Theatre is kind of a boomy sounding room with it's super high ceiling but I think this turned out really nice.  Enjoy.

Clutch @ The Ogden, Denver, CO 2004-08-04

Clutch has a great new album out called Earth Rocker.  Hearing it and missing their performance down in Colorado Springs got me thinking about times that I had seen them in the past.  This show was an 'evening with' show were Clutch played two sets.

This tour was for their amazing release Blast Tyrant.  The setlist is chalk full of classic Clutch tunes and a couple instrumental jams that are pretty interesting.

Check it out and if you have never seen Clutch live do yourself a favor and catch them the next time they stop through your town.

This was back at the end of the CDR trading days and the beginning of the torrent era.  I'm pretty sure I traded this out a bit and most likely posted it somewhere.  This version is a fresh transfer and new mastering job on the original recording.  Consider it an upgrade is you have this already.

Clutch @ Sounds Of The Underground, Denver, CO 2005-07-31

Clutch pulls off something most bands just can't.  Being consistantly great.  They have altered their sound a little over the years but not for the sake of trends or trying to rebrand themselves to get mainstream attention.  These guys just rock plain and simple.  They remain to this day one of my very favorite bands.

This set is from the now defunct Sounds Of The Underground tour.  The 2005 lineup had a lot of great acts but it was Clutch that got me to buy a ticket and go to the show.

Here is Clutch's set from the Denver stop of that tour.
Short and sweet.
