Bob Mould @ Bluebird Theater, Denver CO, 2000-03-01

Here is my recording of a Bob Mould solo show at the Bluebird Theater in March of 2000.
He didn't have a new album out so I think he was just road testing some of the songs that ended up on Body Of Song.  At the beginning he says "bare with me I haven't really played guitar in 2 months.

This was during the time he was working at WCW wrestling and leaning into a more electronic sound with projects like LoudBomb.

This night he alternated between playing and acoustic and electric guitar for the first 10 songs.  Then he brings in some backing tracks for next 3 songs that are a preview of songs that end up on Body Of Song.  He ends it switch back to solo guitar for the rest of the set.

There are a couple long interludes were he just talks about what's happening, what bands he likes, no snow in Colorado.  Real excited crowd with a lot of shouted requests between songs but when he is playing they were very quiet and respectful.  It was a joy to revisit this show after so many years.

I'm sure I traded this out during the CDr trading days so it's that source is out there.  This is a new transfer from the master MD.  Freshly cleaned up, tracked and tagged.  Enjoy.

Bob Mould @ The Bluebird 2013-04-21

I never saw Husker Du or Sugar during their heydays.  I saw Bob solo a couple times with mixed results.  The shows were good and he even pulled out the electric for some tunes but it wasn't the same without a band.  Loved the return to form when I heard his newest record Silver Age for the first time.

Was really happy when I saw that finally their was a Denver date for his tour.  It was well worth the wait.  Loud fast ruled the night and his cracker jack band tore it up.  Best show by a rock trio I've seen all year.

Captured a pretty nice recording.  Hope you enjoy it.
