Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #732

Welcome to my blog, where I have
a new card to share with you each week for

 Tuesday Morning Sketches

Here is the sketch for this week:

Using several items that were close at hand and flipping the sketch, I made this card:
At first I had positioned the dragon fly and sentiment exactly like the sketch but I didn't like the dragonfly facing down.  So I finagled things until it suited me better.

CASEing a Christmas Card

Recently I came across a stunning Christmas card on Pinterest that I just had to try and replicate.

Unfortunately, I don't know who made the card to give them credit.  It was uploaded by Noreen Meekins.

Here is my version, using what I had in my stash.

The sentiment is a CTMH stamp.  I've used a combination of various dies.  Only a small section of the card is embossed with a snowflake ef.  The smallest square is wrapped with a 2" piece of velum and gingham ribbon.  And the tiny bird is a Cricut cut as well as the scalloped square.

Double Trouble Challenge #32 & CTMH Class 7/2

It's awfully hot out to be thinking about Christmas in July, but this week that's what Double Trouble Challenge #32 wants you to do.  Not only that, the challenge calls for something square, an optional beach scene, and a link up to the Retro Rubber Challenge #114 where you need to use an old stamp on your Christmas in July card.

Here's a fun card using a Bugaboo digi and a Great Impressions rubber stamp, which is probably 10 years old.

Challenges:
Double Trouble Challenge # 32 - Christmas in July, Squares, at the beach, link to RRC
Retro Rubber Challenge #114 - Christmas in July, old rubber stamp (Great Impressions rubber stamp, approx. 10 years old)

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #405 with Fred She Said Stamps

Tuesday Throwdown is a sketch challenge this week,
one of my favorite types of challenge.
And our sponsor is Fred She Said, another of my favorites.
They very generously gave everyone on the design team one of their digi stamps for our projects this week.  I chose the Kitty & the Ornament digital stamp.  It comes colored and uncolored and with or without a bow.
For my first card I used the colored version with the bow.
Isn't this kitty adorable?
Here's a second card, also the colored version, except I added some color to the cat's fur so it would look better with the gold tones of the paper I wanted to use.

Here's the sketch you need to follow to join in the fun at Tuesday Throwdown Challenge  this week:

My Tuesday Throwdown Team B teamies all made fabulous cards using a variety of digis to inspire you to enter this week's challenge and stop by Fred She Said to see their wonderful images.

Mojo Monday Thanks

The last Monday in May,  Memorial Day in the United States, is traditionally a day to remember and thank those who serve and have served in our military.

Even though the card I made is not in patriotic colors, I did think a Thank You card was appropriate.  It's also time to be thanking those teachers, especially the ones that will never be forgotten.

Challenges:

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #124 - 2 or more designer papers
Sweet Stampin Challenge - Use Your Stuff (I've used a paper pack from CTMH that is several years old and I only have bits and pieces left.)

Thanks for stopping by.

Mojo Monday Mystery

How did this half sheet of great paisley paper get in my stash?
I don't remember seeing it before.  That probably means I have too much paper.  But, don't we all?

The Mojo Monday sketch today is for a square card.  Upon seeing that, I went digging for the pack of square cards my friend, Mickey, gave me that someone had given her.  The card bases are a pale blue/gray.  Next I went stash digging for dp that would match.  This paisley paper spoke to me.  It was a perfect light blue/gray match.
A punch for the circle, cricut cut for the scalloped circle, fussy cut stamped crazy bird with hat and bow tie, embossed deep aqua cs distressed to cover the white paper core that showed through after embossing, strip of black shimmer trim, CTMH Artiste cricut cut tag, silver embossed sentiment, and bow finished the card.
I think I'll send it to my brother for his birthday with a snarky sentiment inside about getting old.

Monday Mojo # 445

This coming Saturday my grandson receives his 1st Holy Communion, an occasion requiring  a very special card.  Since we will be delivering it in person and I have a stash of square envelopes,  I thought I'd follow today's Mojo Monday square card sketch.

Green is Matt's favorite color.  It was actually surprising that I still had a sheet of green cardstock in my stash.  When he is here crafting, that is always the color he chooses.
Note to self: Purchase more green cs.
The beautiful image is an Our Daily Bread Designs Stamp. The sentiment is a CTMH stampBoth are stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Sparkle n Sprinkle Glitsy Gold Embossing Powder.  On each side of the image is half of a rectangular die cut by ODBD.
The scalloped oval is a Spellbinders die cut.  The simple circle was cut on the Cricut using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge.
Here is a close up of the card,
so you can see the beautiful gold paper from Paper Temptress.

Day #17 - CASE Yourself + AHSC

This is a perfect time to show you a card I CASEd from myself, and shared with my little group of Red Hat Cardmakers.
I had to change up the DP from the original because I needed enough to cut for 9 cards all the same.  Usually, we make all red & purple cards, but for this class I promised the gals Christmas cards in red and green.
front

The nativity stamp is by Prickly Pears; the sentiment stamps by CTMH; the border punch is Fiskars; the circle die cuts are by Oh La La; and the bow on the card front is from the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge.

Additional challenges:

And below is the card I CASEd from a blog post November 28th, last year for Day #8 of Beccy's 2014 Month of Holiday Cards Challenge.

I just got an idea on how to use this week's sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  It's a doozie!
TTFN

One hour later....

I noticed some grumblings among the ranks about this sketch, but I think this will work for AHSC #134.  I used 4 CTMH stamp sets  for the various snowflakes and sentiments.
Thanks, Karen, for the wonderful stitched snowflake die cut.

The closeup is to show the Frost Shimmer Mist I sprayed on the card.
Now I MUST get ready for this afternoon's card class.

The Atlantic Hearts Sketch is Square!

Square cards are, well, square!
Square cards need special postage here in the US.
Square cards need special square envelopes.
This square card is for a special couple.

I wanted to show you the teeny, tiny glass beads that I used for the flower, and the pretty glittery shine on the butterfly and banner from one coat of glitter glaze made by My Favorite Things.  Everything else I used was by CTMH: Heartstrings Paper, Card Word Puzzle Stamp Set, Inks, Gems, and even the work mat that I'm so happy I brought along.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Glitter N Sparkle Challenge #124 - Gems and Glitter
Corrosive Challenges - Things with Wings
Allsorts Challenge Week 298 - Any Occasion other than Birthday

Maybe I can still get a walk in before the wash is dry.  Ta Ta!

Mojo Monday Nativity Card

My mother collects nativities of all shapes and sizes.  Consequently, when I see a nativity stamp I usually buy it.  This one was a small and inexpensive buy from Michaels.  The Brown Bag ink, CS, DP and craft border are CTMH products.
The layout is from this morning's Mojo Monday #321 Challenge Sketch:

I am also submitting this card to the following challenges:
Amusing Challenges #11 - Anything Goes
Challenges 4 Everbody #34 - Anything Goes
Christmas Card Challenge #52 - Faith

The Glory of Christmas Challenge #21 - Turquoise + Brown
Polka Doodles Challenge #47 - Inspired by a Christmas Carol (Silent Night)
The Paper Shelter Challenge #138 - Christmas is Coming

Now I'm off to start some Thanksgiving cleaning.  But since my 2 grandsons will be here all day tomorrow, I don't plan to get carried away today.  So maybe I'll work on the upstairs and then go to the mall.  The card store advertised a craft kit to go with the Elf on the Shelf and I'm sure Matthew would love to play with it tomorrow.  The boys' resident Elf on the Shelf is named Shoeshine (don't ask me how they came up with that name).  He returns each year to report back to Santa on their behavior.  However, thanks to Pinterest, Shoeshine's behavior has not exactly been exemplary.  He swings from the ceiling fan, has lots of fun in the pantry,  and has even been known to eat a banana.  Every day is another adventure which gets them quickly out of bed each morning.  Of course, there is also the tree pickle to find and the tree pixies, as well.

Have a great day!

Joyce is having a 12 card CTMH Christmas workshop this evening.  I'll be posting those cards for you to see later this week.
