Double Trouble Challenge # 204

Here's my card for Double Trouble Challenge #204,

3-2-1 Recipe "It's a Tall Order"

It is a mini slimline card with multiple images and blue, red and green and follows the sketch at Try a Sketch on Tuesday,

I used an embossing folder of Trees, for something starting with "T".
Double Trouble Challenge #204       and       Try a Sketch on Tuesday #683.

Did you notice the strip of different papers going down the left side of the card? Often when you purchase a pad of paper there are tiny samples on the front of the pad.  I never throw those away.  They come in handy for cards like this.

Thanks for the visit!

Double Trouble Challenge #180

This week's Double Trouble Challenge theme is

"Stitch It Up"

and their partner challenge is

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

I'm trying to get ready for a card class next week.  My dining room table is totally covered in crafty Christmas stuff.  Putting everything away to exchange it for a cooked bird is so non-productive.  But, before I prepare for the big feast on Thursday, and while everything is right at my fingertips, I quickly made this card for the two challenges above.

Have a nice Thanksgiving!

Send a Smile 4 Kids July Challenge - Christmas in July

The theme for the July Challenge at

Follow SAS4Kids on Facebook!
is
Christmas in July
Anything Goes for kids is always acceptable, too.
We just want to see your wonderful creations
and hope you enjoy making and sharing them!

A couple weeks ago my wire paper rack decided to collapse.  What a mess!  Ever since, I have been trying to reorganize a few things, thus taking some weight off the rack.   I just happened to be going through some red paper scraps, making card fronts for future use.  When I made this one, I set it aside for this challenge.  Then I rummaged through a Christmas box and found a Christmas tag and small cardboard sentiment.
That was easy!

The image was printed on white glitter printable paper.
Here's a closeup:

It would be great if you joined the fun at the

(Cards only, please. And they need not be donated.)

Please take some time and visit the fabulous blogs of my teammates.  They work so hard and are very creative!

This is it!

If you've been following my blog the last few days, I've been working on a special card for a friend.  Here's the final version.

What do you think?

I added some swirly stamping and red splotches to the background paper, just for interest.  The candy cane and poinsettia are digital images from Beccy's Place.  I actually used 3 poinsettias so I could layers them using thin foam for dimension.  The spray of winter greens was die cut in white and I added touches of green with a water brush.  Then I added a couple dark green holly leaves.  And finally I used some frost spritz and some white paint drops.

I'm going to enter these challenges:

Beccy's Place December Challenge: AG with a BP image; optional fun fold

Double Trouble Challenge #155 - Die-cember (used my scissors for all that fussy cutting, included baker's twine and gold thread, also entered Use Your Stuff Challenge.

Use Your Stuff Challenge #481 - Wrap it up!

I can't decide if I should make one more version on a larger card base.  Does it look too crowded to you?

Thanks for visiting.

Another Candy Cane Card

As I mentioned yesterday, I printed quite a few Candy Cane digital images from Beccy's Place to make a special card inspired by one I had seen on Facebook.  This was my first attempt at that card but I did not like this background.  Instead, I changed things up a bit and used a bell digi, also from Beccy's Place.  Here are the results:

I like it but may add more gold thread after I enter it in a few challenges.

Beccy's Place December Challenge: AG with a BP image; optional fun fold

Double Trouble Challenge #155 - Die-cember (used my scissors for all that fussy cutting, included baker's twine and gold thread, also entered Use Your Stuff Challenge.

Candy Cane Fun

A few days ago I was searching for a candy cane image to make a special card.  I found lots of digis at Beccy's Place and printed a full sheet of different ones, some precolored and some not.  Then, while I watched TV,  I fussycut each one.  This is one of my favorites, but not the one I chose for my special card.  That one's not quite finished.  It still needs a poinsettia.  In the meantime, here is a very simple card using one of the extra candy canes.

I'll be sharing this card at Beccy's Place December Challenge - AG using an image from Beccy's Place; I opted out of the optional fun fold.

Last card for the Christmas Kickstart Challenge

This month I am participating in

The Cat Lovers Christmas Kickstart Challenge

It has been fun seeing all the wonderful cat themed cards.
I was surprised to see how many cat images are in my stash.  The challenge allows you to enter 6 cards, which means this is my last.

But, I can still enter Gail's Tic Tac Toe Challenge.
This kitty is ready for a snowball fight.

I used a die to form the scalloped edge of the snowbank, white glitter paper for the snow, and an embossing folder, the first column down.

So happy you had time to visit my blog.
