Easter Handbag

Today, while my DH played 9 holes of golf, I played with a handbag die set a friend loaned me.
These will be perfect gift bags with a bit of Easter grass, a few chocolates, and a gift card.
The little chick with banner is a stamp with matching die  from CTMH, which I colored with watercolor pencils.  I also die cut a piece of craft foam to mount them on.  It gives the image a lot more stability than pop dots, especially those skinny legs and feet.

Chocolates anyone?

I made this little bag as a small raffle item.  Would you buy a ticket?  There are chocolate truffles inside!
All the products I used are from CTMH.
Unfortunately, they are all retired.

Gift Bag using Atlantic Hearts Sketch # 77

This week I thought I'd use the Atlantic Hearts Sketch and adapt it for use on a Birthday Gift Bag.

The papers are CTMH Huntington, a great fall paper pack with nice warm colors, and the stamps are also CTMH.   The tag was cricut cut using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.
My mother made this beautiful crocheted necklace for inside. (That was before she broke her thumb! Long story!)

I am entering the gift bag in the following challenges:
Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #77  (I've rotated the sketch 90 degrees.) *I've also missed the challenge deadline.  Oops!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge # 205 - Handmade Flowers

Website Banner
Flourish with a Bling is the sponsor for Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #205.
Who doesn't like bling?
(Other than the Scrabble dictionary on  my Kindle which insists it isn't a word.)
Check out the Flourish with a Bling store for many colors of rhinestones and pearls,  absolutely gorgeous flourishes and beautiful flowers.
But no cheating gals, because this week at Tuesday Throwdown we want to see your handmade flowers.

The very first Make and Take that I taught at a stamping show, several years ago, was handmade roses.  I decided that for this week's Tuesday Throwdown DT project I was going to make some of those roses.  Starting with little square pieces of DP, the old memory kicked in and I made a few to decorate this gift bag.
(I've used a CTMH stamp on the tag.)

It was such fun meeting all the people at that first show and watching them carefully carrying their paper roses until the glue and glitter gel dried.  I'm already looking forward to teaching Make and Takes at 3 shows this fall in Westminster, MD, York, PA and Edison, NJ.

Now it's your turn to make some flowers, add them to a project and enter them in Tuesday Throwdown Challenge # 205.  I am anxious to see them all.

And, by the way, my online girlfriend, Donna, has posted two flower tutorials on her Creative Smiles blog here and  here showing you how to transform plain prima flowers into wonderful accessories for your cards and projects.

I'll be entering this gift bag with tag in the following challenges:
Craft-Dee Bowz July Challenge - Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow
Crafting from the Heart Challenge #28- Always Anything Goes
Stamping Sensations Challenge - Summer Blooms
Anything but a Card Challenge 37 - Anything Goes

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge DT Recipe Project

This week at Tuesday Throwdown we have a fun recipe challenge sponsored by My Grafico, where you can find a variety of clipart, graphics, printable templates, digital papers, stamps and much more.
The recipe for the challenge is:
one image,
one designer paper,
and something purple.

For my DT project, I decided to use a castle digi image from My Grafico that is part of a set called Fairy Tale Princess Stamps.  I just happened to have one purple gift bag in my stash and close at hand, so I thought I'd put together a welcome bag and tag.  I wrote the sentiment on the computer and printed it and the digi image on kraft text paper.  The white damask kraft dp was a clearance find.  I used the cricut to cut the tags and rolled flowers, a sixix die for the purple vines, and my Craft-Dee Bowz maker to make the triple looped bow.

I hope you'll pop over to the Tuesday Throwdown blog to see what my very talented teammates have made for your inspiration.  Then be sure to join in the fun at Tuesday Throwdown this week.  We just love seeing your crafty cards and projects and visiting all your blogs.

Speaking of visiting....
I'll be doing Make and Takes this week-end, May 3rd and 4th, at the Stamp, Scrap Art Tour Show at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.  Look for me at the Close to My Heart booth, and meet my friends Joyce and Betty.

Mother's Day Gift Bags

I found some bits and pieces left over from Mother's Day favors a couple years ago and thought I'd make a few bags for down at the farm.  These are small bags, perfect for the homemade soaps my cousin makes and sells at the farm.
I also thought they might be perfect for these challenges:
Crafts 4 Eternity Challenge #170 - Anything but a card
Jo's Scrap Shack Challenge #44 - Anything Goes
Scrap it Girl April Challenge - Tags and Bags
