Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #759

Welcome to my blog, where I have

a new card to share with you each week for

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Here is the sketch for this week:

and my card:

The butterflies and outside border papers are foil and a little hard to photograph because they reflect their surroundings.  It looks so much better in person.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.

The Design Team invites you to stop by
 and visit their blogs, too.

You can be sure that one of us will be visiting you.

Graduation time

Other than making something for the

Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge # 503

I had no real plans for today's card.  But after I chose the papers, stamped the butterfly first on cs and then on green velum, fussy cut it,  popped it on the inside oval, chose the stick-on 'take flight' sentiment,  and added the bow, it occurred to me that it would make a nice graduation card for a certain young lady who will soon be receiving her nursing degree.

All it needed was the "Congratulations"

The oval dies are by Spellbinders and the word die by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The butterfly stamp was a freebie by Sheena Douglas from a Quick Cards magazine.  The take flight sticker was a freebie that came with my last order from Stamplorations.  Gotta love those freebies!

This is the sketch from TSOT that I was following:

The Design Team for Try Stampin' On Tuesday Challenge really did an outstanding job with their sample cards this week.  Several are fancy folds.  If I hadn't visited one of their blogs, I never would have known that one of the cards is actually a gate fold.  So, if you have some time, I'd suggest making a few visits and collecting a few tips from this talented group.

Additional Challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door Week of April 27th - AG; Paper Minutes Challenge #689 - Butterflies; Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - AG; The House That Stamps Built Challenge - AG; Addicted to Stamps Challenge #404 - Any Occasion

Double Trouble Challenge #46

One of my good friends is going to have a wonderful new year.
She's going to be a grandmother for the first time!
It's too early to know if the baby is a boy or girl, so I made a gate fold card and to cover both genders.

Something, Anything, and Everything. With options of using something new (the heart embossing folder), or making your project about something new (new grandma) to make Twisted Sister happy.  I've also linked up with one of Double Trouble partners, The Crafter's Cafe.

Additional Challenges:
The Crafter's Cafe Challenge - Holidays or I spy something beginning with a C (Congratulations)
Colour Crazy Challenge Week 50 - AG

New Big Sister Card

My goal today was to make a birthday card for my son who will be marking another year in a few days.  Unfortunately, my head is a bit fuzzy from cold medicine and my creativity went in a whole different direction.....

(The card is lying on a piece of red cs for the photo so you can see how the front window exposes the inside image.)

My second great granddaughter was born over the week-end, promoting my first great granddaughter to Big Sister.
I know she will be a wonderful big sister, although I hope she doesn't carry her new baby sister in the same manner she carries her dolls.
Quite a while ago, I won this Mo Manning stamp but haven't used it until now.  It captures Laila's hair perfectly.

Her new baby sister has quite a head of hair herself, also very dark, but very straight.

The die cuts for the flowers and the letters are from
My Favorite Things
The stitched circle dies are from La La Land
The CONGRATULATIONS stamp is from the
CTMH January SOTM.

Challenges:

Allsorts Challenge Week #501 - Hearts and Flowers (heart paper, die cut flowers and stamped flowers)
Challenge Up Your Life Challenge #103 - All New (new big sister, new sentiment stamp)
Die Cut Divas January Challenge - Something New (new big sister, new sentiment stamp)
Scrapy Land Challenge #105 - AG with a die sold by Scrapy Land (La La Land)

Hopefully, I'll get that Birthday Card made tomorrow.

Congratulations Cards & CTMH Card Class 4/3/2018

In cleaning my craft closet recently, I came across a baggie with several cards I had started for my neighbor.  She wanted some cards for children who were getting adopted and, also, cards to congratulate the family.
I finished up that project today.
Here is one of the cards I made for her to give the family.
Papers and stamp are from CTMH.
The letter die cuts are from My Favorite Things.
Challenges:

I might as well show you this card, too.
This features an older CTMH stamp and a few cricut cuts.
Challenges:
Shopping Our Stash Challenge SOS 348 - Black, White and 1 other color
Cuttlebug Mania Challenge -  5th Anniversary Party (I chose Kerry's and Rachel's cards for inspiration; blue and a butterfly.  I used the cuttlebug for my embossing)

*******

Here are the cards we made at Joyce's
CTMH card class this past Tuesday.
I almost forgot to post them.

( I'll put a sentiment on this card later.)

Nice of you to visit today!
Thank you.

Great Impressions Stamps May Challenge Card

If you'd like to find out how I made my card for the

I posted the directions on the Great Impressions Stamps blog today.

If you follow my blog, you've already seen the card above.  So I decided to use Great Impressions stamp Springy Molly (F121) to make another card.  It is one of a group of cards I am making for my neighbor to give to children who are being adopted.
Inside the card reads:
You've been adopted!
I'm smiling so big my face hurts!

The "Congratulations" sentiment is from Great Impressions stamp C379S Graduate.  (I cut off the diploma and graduate part after I stamped it on white cs.)

The second has just a few subtle differences.
The stamps are CTMH.

Way to Go, Kitty!

A good part of my morning was spent tidying up my craft table.  And then....
I saw a post by my friend, Karen.  She has reached a lofty 400 blog followers!  in 3 short years!!!
Here I sit with all of 131 followers.
She's doing something right!
So here's to you and your wonderful blog.
I'm so happy we've become blogging friends!
I have no clue what brand of stamp the cat is, but it took all my strength to separate it from the backing sheet to put on a block.  The "Congrats" is a CTMH stamp. Pink circle was punched; white one is a CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cut.

To celebrate her accomplishment KT Fit Kitty, as she is known by most of us, is having a giveaway.
Check out the cute badge she designed, herself.

Please take a moment to visit Karen's blog, KT Fit Kitty,  and maybe you could win one of the prizes she's giving away.

Happy News

My mother received a call this morning announcing the arrival of a grandson to some friends of hers.  She asked if I had anything in my traveling stash to make a card for the grandparents.  Luckily, I happen to have some CTMH stamps, including the new CTMH Stamp of the Month for February, Balloon Animals, and a new paper pack from SU.
Challenges:

Open Minded Crafting Challenge - Something New (balloon stamps is new)

Well, that's it for now.  My computer is being very difficult; my tummy says it's time for a sandwich; and my DH will be ready for a walk shortly.  Enjoy your day!

A Great Card Day

Today my friend and CTMH consultant, Joyce Houck, held her annual Christmas Card Extravaganza. Those attending made 8 fabulous Christmas cards using some of this year's CTMH Christmas products.  Here's what we made:

I think everyone was pleased with this year's cards, not to mention the fact that we had taco soup for lunch which we all love (The recipe can be found on Joyce's blog, if you're curious.).
Thanks, Joyce, for a great day.

New Embossing Folder #2

Yesterday, I used one of the 2 embossing folders I picked up on a clearance pile.  Well, here's a card I made using the second one.

Once again I used the pictures from the packaging (in pink) as layers on the card.  I added wide, sheer ribbon with a strip of CTMH paper on top, a CTMH center bling, and a banner using more CTMH paper and sentiment stamp.

It's a Boy

It was a busy day today with 2 baseball games and a baby shower in between.  My nephew and his wife are expecting their first child, a baby boy, on my mother's 84th birthday in June.  What a wonderful birthday present for her, grandchild # 8.

This umbrella is a Great Impressions stamp, which I stamped 4 times on different colored papers and then did a lot of paper piecing.  (And I have enough pieces left to make a second card.)  I sprayed it with sparkle shimmer mist, which looks really neat but didn't show up in the photo.  There are Dazzles above the umbrella, liquid pearls on the points, and the sentiment is CTMH.

I am entering this card in these fun challenges:
My Time to Craft Challenge #245 - April Showers

Isn't it compulsory....

to use something new when you've been to a stamping show over the weekend?  After a great buying spree, who can resist playing with their new toys?  Not me!  So for today's Mojo Monday card I unwrapped a new graduation hat embossing folder by Darice.  I love embossing folders.  I can't believe I only bought one.  But,  I was trying to be good since there are more shows coming up in April and May.  Yippee!!  My cousin wants some graduation cards to sell at her little shop, so I should get a lot of use out of this folder.
Thinking this might be more of a guy card, I tried to keep it kind of simple and used CS only. I chose black, off white and red, because red is one of our local high school's colors and there were pieces of each in the pile on my table.   I used washi tape for the bottom borders, a Close to My Heart stamp for the sentiment, Snoopy is a Hallmark puffy sticker I picked up on clearance last year, and I followed today's Mojo Monday Sketch:

I'll be entering this card in these challenges:
Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #337
Dragonfly Dreams Challenge #3 - Up in the Air
Pile It On Challenge #11 - For a Guy
Scribble and Scrap Challenge #14 - Always Anything Goes

Now I must get my Tuesday Throwdown DT post ready for tomorrow.
Hope you'll join us in the fun.

Have a wonderful day!

Congratulations to the new Mom

I don't usually find craft supplies at the grocery store.  But I recently came across a package of adorable 3D dinosaur stickers at the checkout.  All the stickers are of adult dinos with their offspring.  Since my granddaughter decided a while ago that she wanted purple not pink for her baby girl,  (She painted the room purple, had my mother make her purple sheets for the cradle, got a purple car seat, purple this, purple that...... ) I thought I'd use the purple Mommy Dino with Baby Dino sticker for her card.  The rest of the stickers will make great Mother's Day and Father's Day cards.  The triple loop bow was made with my Craft Dee Bowz Maker.
Sentiment stamp is CTMH

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:
My Time to Craft Challenge - New Things
Brown Sugar Challenge #82 - Use a Charm
Crafty Ribbons Challenge #77 - Anything Goes
Craft-Dee-Bowz February Challenge - Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow
Cutie Pie Challenge #63 - cute with spots and dots

Rev It Up for Cards in Envy

This cute little race car digi is by Heather Valentin from Lacy Sunshine.  I thought it would be perfect for this week's challenge at Cards In Envy - Rev It Up!  and give me another try at a One Layer Card for the Sentimental Sunday Challenge #167 - One Layer Card.  While I'm entering challenges, I'll also enter the Lacy Sunshine Challenge #14 - Favorite Things (mine is coloring digi stamps) and Send a Smile 4 Kids - Anything Goes 4 Kids Challenge.

Speaking of kids, my grandsons were here for the morning and quickly got to crafting a lacrosse field and a baseball field.  Thank heavens for Dollar Store white wrapping paper!

Digi Darla's Challenge + CTMH Card Class 7/30/13

The theme for Digi Darla's Challenge #73 is Copy Cat.  There is a free digi image of an adorable mouse which must be used for the challenge.  I quickly printed up 3 copies of this cute little guy.   I always print multiple copies in case I want to pop a section or two.  Today I decided to make 3 cards:

I might print a few more and make a nice gift set.

Here are the other challenges this little guy will be entering:
Southern Girls Challenge #74 - Animal Antics
Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Challenge #44 - Animals
Daring Cardmakers - Creature Comforts
Digi Haven Challenge - Any Animal
Addicted to CAS Challenge #18 - Glitter
Glitter n Sparkle Challenge #43 - Clean and Simple

As promised, here are the cards from yesterday's CTMH class using the July Stamp of the Month.

(I'm still thinking I might color just the cherries bright red.)

If you like the stamp set, don't waste a minute.  Today is the last day you can order it and then it disappears.
