Escultura Libro - Caronte - Puerta al Mundo de los Sueños / Book Sculpture - Charon - Door to a World of Dreams

En la mitología Griega, Caronte era el barquero de Hades, el encargado de guiar las sombras errantes de los difuntos recientes de un lado a otro del río Aqueronte si tenían un óbolo para pagar el viaje, razón por la cual en la Antigua Grecia los cadáveres se enterraban con una moneda bajo la lengua. Aquellos que no podían pagar tenían que vagar cien años por las riberas del Aqueronte, tiempo después del cual Caronte accedía a portearlos sin cobrar.

In Greek mythology, Charon was the ferryman of Hades, the one in charge of guiding the wandering shadows of the recently deceased from side to side of the river Acheron if they had an obol to pay for the trip, that is why in ancient Greece corpses were buried with a coin under the tongue. Those who could not pay had to wander a hundred years the banks of Acheron, some time after Charon transported them without charge.

La puerta representa la entrada al mundo de los sueños, en este caso al sueño en el mundo de Caronte.

The door represents the entry to a world of dreams, in this case to the dream in Charon´s world.
