I just called to say...

Hey everyone...Its already May..the scorching month in this part of the world..temps are supposed to touch 46C. Its already 43...so not far to go!!

Coz its so hot I wanted to use some cool colors...and after searching through my archivies of digital images, I found one that I loved. I'd won this image in Jaya's challenge blog. The image is from Di's digi downloads..super super cute..

My mom's on a world tour right now, and I will miss her terribly on mother's day..so this is what I'll be doing on mother's day...Calling up my mom and telling her that I love her!!
Echo park papers, Little girl collection.
Colored with Derwent Inktense, Faber-castell watercolor pencils and a few blings!

The sentiment was printed along with the image..

Looking forward to your creations!

Paperworks Challenge

This is the first day of the Paperworks Co Ultimate Summer Challenge..and I had picked Day 1. It turned out to be a sketch Challenge..The restrictions proved to be tough...had to use only Paperworks stamps or Rachel Ann Miller Stamps (RAM) or the digi they provided. That and plus not to make a square or a rectangle card..
I decided to use the digi provided and my printer turned out to be my godsend..I was able to manipulate things well...
So here's the sketch, and my take on it..
And this is my card...
As always blogger is not being helpful..here's the link to a better image. The image is from Chi Chi memories! (reminds me of Govinda..eeew)

The challenge was announced at 9.30 pm, (Sunday)IST and this card was done by 11 am monday morning..Phew! This is my fastest card ever...I generally don't do well on time constraints, but this time I had to do it.. And was happy with the outcome too..and what's my card without some bling? Got some rhinestones over the heart, and the gorgeous lace, sent by Juhi (love you girl).
The banner was done with photoshop, and I used the sentiment provided by them. Just re-sized it to fit it into the banner!

Watercolor pencils, Sharpie ultrafine and Signo whilte gel pen complete the card.

This is my 2nd all digi card...my rubber stamps are grumbling..they're feeling so left out!!!
So what do you think??

Will let you all know where and when to vote!!

Say hello to the Indie Stampers! Smita, Shalini, Spardha and me!!

Cupcake

Would you believe if I told you I've never tasted a cupcake? Muffins, yes. Cupcakes, never! Not one of those frosted goodness. All I've seen are the ones on Rachel Allen and Nigella's shows. So when I saw the card Jan made, it made me want to eat one..but since we don't' get cupcakes here (Mumbai has its first stand alone cupcake shop) so I did the next best thing. Create a card with a cupcake. Didn't have any cupcake stamp either, so found one digital stamp that I had downloaded and printed.

Why was it lying around, not used? Don't ask me, maybe it was waiting for this day!!!! I have no clue where I downloaded this cupcake from...if any of you have the same image and know who's image this is, please let me know.

Image colored with sharpie. Love these alcohol markers..no streaks, no tearing of paper like the normal Indian sketch pens do. Only that sharpies are intense. The brown has no other shade, so its way too dark..but fine. I wanted the image to look like and embellishment that is stitched. So out came my white get pen and black ultra-fine sharpie.
For the glitter, hobby ideas 3-D glitter glue in shimmer, generous amount all over the cupcake. And once it was dried, a big dollop of glue and gloss to give it that superb shine. For the cherry, I used a ring binder that my hubby so sweetly got for me, saying you might use them in your cards!! so sweet of him! These are how they look

These have 2 buttons, so just picked the red one, threaded light green grosgrain ribbon through it and drew a faux stitch around the button too. Was having too much fun by now to care where I'm drawing faux stitches!!

Just a close up of all the glittery goodness.

Thanks Jan for the inspiration! Now if only I could find a cupcake! H's birthday is coming next week, maybe shall have a nice frosted cake, instead of a cupcake.

This card is apt for the Glitterbabe's first challenge, make something sparkly!
