First Sweet Sugar Challenge

The first challenge is over at Sweet Sugar Challenges, for all you lovers of Sugar Nellie stamps - the link is under challenges on the left hand side.

'Here we are, welcome to the very first challenge at Sweet Sugar Challenges! We hope that you will find our challenges and cards inspiring and that you will all join in!So, to our very first challenge, it is.......stars and stripes. The challenge team have made some fabulous cards! Isn't funny how we have all used the rock star stamp! Remember that you don't have to use this stamp, you can use any of the Sugar Nellie stamps!'

We have all grabbed the same stamp for this challenge, I did think about the cowboy but thought that was too obvious. Good job I didn't use a big star as well, but decided to use my star as the'A' in Rockstar. The strippy paper is from pink petticoat, the embossing has been done with the Spots & Dots cuttlebug embossing folder, rockstar has been cut out using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge on my cricut and the sentiment is from Pink Petticoat.

Daring Card Makers - Red & White

The challenge over on Daring Card Makers is to design a card using only RED AND WHITE on your cards- it doesn't have to be a Valentine themed card - it can be any theme- as long as use incorporate RED and WHITE on it.

I've been asked to make a birthday card for a lady who will be 100, but as she doesn't have much sight left I was asked to make something that she would be able to feel. She is also Welsh, so I have had a verse that I have printed for the insert and I was also asked to put happy birthday in Welsh on the front of the card.

I have covered the bottom half of the card with paper from Pink Petticoat and added a strip of paper across the top. I've used my favourite Sizzix die, the daisies as I thought she would feel the outline of the flowers and I've also used some glitter card to give it some texture, then added a gem to finish. The 100 has been cut out with my Cricut and I've printed out Happy Birthday in Welsh and mounted onto red card and added to the bottom right hand corner.

Tilda & Co Weekly Challenge

'This week's challenge i would like to see Numbers, Be it just 1 number on your artwork or lot's of numbers.'

Although I am a bit early, I decided to do a first birthday card for our friends little girl Katie Louise. I covered a card in pale pink spotty paper from Pink petticoat, punched 3 holes in the top right hand corner and tied 3 pieces of pink ribbon through the. I then cut a 1 with my Cricut from the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge in bright pink card and added to the front of the card. I then stamped and coloured Tilda with her teddy and added slightly to the right of the 1 with foam pads. I added Happy Birthday to the bottom of the 1
