We had a fun and relaxing labor day weekend. We had dinner up at the cabin Sunday night with Tally, Abby, and Spencer. Kimberly and Jace came up later and we roasted marshmallows. We slept up there that night and then woke up the next morning to go for a "hike" which for our family means a walk around Silver Lake. We even got to see a baby moose about two feet off of the trail which the girls were pretty excited about. I love living so close to the beautiful mountains! It was a nice long weekend to spend with each other before Todd heads into the busiest time of year at work.

Sticker Chart Rewards
Emma and Katelyn worked really hard this summer to fill up their sticker charts. They got stickers for doing their chores, being obedient, and not having any accidents all day (Katelyn only). We are not above bribing our children. I told them when they filled up their charts they could go to the store and pick out any toy they wanted. They both told me they wanted new teddy bears so we took them to Build A Bear.
We were proud of both of them for working so hard and reaching their goal. Now they keep asking when we will start their next sticker chart.
Emma was a little more into filling up her chart than Katelyn was so she filled hers up first. She was so excited to pick out a new pink bear with a Princess Sophia outfit!
A few weeks after Emma went, Katelyn filled up her chart and was able to go as well. She picked a white bear with a Cinderella dress and glass slippers. Emma liked helping Katelyn just as much as she liked getting her own bear.

Miley's 1 Year Pictures
My friend took Miley's one year pictures for me. Miley was in the "I have been teething for two months and I only want to be held" phase so she didn't really cooperate for them but she is still a cutie and I want to have them documented somewhere.

August Pictures
Here is the rest of the month of August in pictures.
We have entered the stage (actually we have been in it for a long time) where Miley attends all 3 hours of church in the hall and she isn't the least bit sad about it.
Emma had her first day of preschool for this year! She is going to two preschools this year. She continues to go to Miss Kelley who she has been going to for the last year and a half to receive her vision therapy. She also started at Miss Bre's preschool which she loves! She is such a fun girl who loves to learn and is excited to be learning how to read this year.
We only made it to seven peaks once this year with our pass of all passes but the girls seemed to enjoy it. They only really liked the baby slides so we felt like it was a pretty far drive to do what we can do at the rec center by our house but we still had a good day.
After we left the waterpark we took the girls to the BYU Creamery to get some ice cream and show them where Mom and Dad went to school. It was a fun day.
The end of August was pretty rainy and the girls loved to go out and play in the rain any chance they got. Even if it was right when they woke up. Pajamas and boots are a great fashion statement around our house.
One of Miley's favorite places to play is in the pantry. Every time the door opens she crawls as fast as she can in there. I don't know if she just really thinks it is fun or if she knows that there is food in there and is hoping to get some.
I got to go down to BYU to help Spencer move into his dorm. It made me feel old to think that I graduated from there over 6 years ago already. And also because my baby brother is now in college. It was fun to help him get all set up and take him grocery shopping to stock up his kitchen. Thanks for letting me come, Spencer!
Miley is our stubborn late walker. She just really doesn't have much interest. Probably because she can crawl everywhere so fast. We are for sure ready for her to start walking. She has ruined too many pairs of pants by crawling for this long. She will finally walk with us holding her hands, and she really loves it when Emma helps her!
We have also been to the zoo a few times with our season pass. I promise that we look at the animals too, we just only ever think to take pictures on the carousel. Probably because that is the only time they are all contained and I have time to think about taking a picture.
It was a fun and busy end to the summer. Now we are enjoying the cooler weather and getting into the swing of our new fall routine.
