4-wheeling and Triathlon

We went to visit Todd's mission trainer and his cute family at their home in Fairview (not sure if that is how you spell it).  We had such a great time with them.  They have a barn about ten minutes from their house with 5 horses, 7 dogs, a couple of goats, some chickens and a rooster.  It was a new experience for me to be around all of those animals at once.  Their baby goat Patsy was my favorite.  While we were up there we took Emma for her first 4-wheeling ride.  Don't worry we went really slowly because we didn't have a helmet on her.  She slept through the whole ride.  She was obviously very excited about the whole thing.  Todd wanted to go for a ride on the raft but I wouldn't go with him so he just went alone.  What a cute husband I have.

The next day Todd did his first ever triathlon. It was a reverse sprint which meant that he got to run first, then bike and then swim.  He did great on the run and was in first place going into the bike by what seemed like forever to me.  One person passed him on the bike and his brother Kyle caught up to him and helped him finish on the bike.  This was only the second time in who knows how many years that Todd has been on a road bike, he was getting tired.  Then for the swim... let's just say there is a lot of room for improvement but what do you expect when there was zero training involved?  He did so great though!  He got second overall and the guy who beat him just did the St. George Iron-man so he doesn't even count.
Emma is such a good sport letting us drag her around to all sorts of these events way too early in the morning!  She sure is proud of her Daddy.

San Antonio

We went to San Antonio with Todd's work for a leadership conference.  It was really fun.  Emma did really well on the airplane again and was a really good baby through all the meetings she had to sit through.  She was a hit and everyone wanted to take turns holding her.  She did great around all of the new faces.  It was way too hot and humid for my taste.
The top picture is of Emma and her first ever ride in a taxi.  She is clearly very excited about it.  We also went to the Alamo and walked around there for a little bit.  Everyone there kept telling us that the time to be tourists in San Antonio is in October and November, not June.  We will remember that next time.  Emma also went swimming for the first time.  She still doesn't know how she feels about it but she really looks cute in her swimming suits!  One of the night we were supposed to dress up for our fiesta.  Todd, Darren, and Dave were supposed to dress like the three amigos but Dave thought that his costume was better so Darren and Todd just had to be the two amigos.
We went to Sea World on the last day there and watched two private shows and had dinner and awards. We even got to see Shamu after the park closed.  It was so fun!  Here are the many faces of Emma while at Sea World.  1) Why are you holding me in this hot place?  At least I still have my binky to keep me happy.  2)  Why are you still holding me?  I am sweating and I am sick of this hat.  3)  I don't care how cool Shamu is, I am tired. 10:00 is WAY past my bed time.

We got back from San Antonio the Saturday before Father's Day and Todd was supposed to leave early the next morning to go on a business trip.   Lucky for us his trip got canceled because of delayed flights.  Unlucky for him, he kinda had a lame-o first father's day because I didn't think he was going to be here.  Emma got him a little gift anyway.  We sure think he is the greatest dad!  On another note, Emma really likes to hang out in our bed in the morning after she wakes up and eats.  Don't let her grumpy face fool you.  She has two expressions, smiling or grumpy and sometimes you have to work really had to get the smiling one.  She is enjoying her time in bed on the inside, she just doesn't want to show you.

Time for an update...

So it has been forever since I have updated.  Mostly I am too lazy to edit my pictures that look horrible on my really old camera so I just don't want to post them.  But what is a post without pictures?  Mostly boring.  So here you go a new post with unedited pictures.

We went to Denver over Memorial Day and had a great time.  Besides the flight over there which actually took longer than it would have if we would have just driven over there.  So much for saving time.  Here are some pictures of Emma's first plane experience.

Despite her face in this picture she actually did so so well on the airplane even though we had to sit on there for so long and all of the drunk people around us kept trying to squeeze her feet.  Here is a confession, I think that Emma looks cute, even when she cries.  As long as she doesn't cry for too long.

She was only awake for this picture and then she basically slept for the rest of the time. Which is good considering that our flight that was supposed to be 1 hour and 15 minutes was almost 7 hours.

We stayed with Todd's brother and his family for the first few days.  They were nice to let us come visit them even though they were in the middle of moving into their new house they just built.  It is amazing and I wish I had their kitchen.  We also got to go to Todd's oldest niece Maddy's 8th grade graduation.  She won like 7 awards so we though she was pretty cool.

The rest of the time we were there we stayed with Kevin, Emily, and Bronsen.  (Look at you guys in two blogs posts in a row!)  A good time was had by all and lots of games were played.  If you didn't know, I really like to play games, another reason why Emily and I are such great friends because she does too!  We also went miniature golfing which was fun even though I am not going to lie, it is pretty hard with a baby strapped to your stomach.

We were glad we were able to stop by and see Brad, Amanda and her cute belly, and Jason for the afternoon.  We really miss living across the street from them!  Maybe one day they will move back to Utah and then we can see them more often.

Sorry that was such a horrible picture.  We don't do super well with the self timer.

Here is Emma's four month picture, even though it is really late.  I realize that she is flipping the camera off in the first one but I still think she looks really cute.

I had to add the second one even though she isn't looking at the camera and she is eating her hand to show how she really looks next to the bear.  She was pushing it down in the first picture.  She is still in the 97th percentile for everything but she isn't that big.

Emma is a professional back to front roller now.  She struggles rolling from her stomach to her back and still hates being on her stomach so our day consists of her rolling to her stomach and then yelling at me until I roll her back over, just to have her do it all over again 10 seconds later.  She is funny.  She also likes to laugh at herself when she is laying on her changing table.  Don't try to make her laugh at you, she will just look at you like you are crazy but she apparently is really funny so she will laugh at herself.

Todd ran his second marathon this weekend.  He survived even though it was raining and freezing.  Who knew I would need my winter coat in June, not me that is why it is packed away and I was cold.  He did well even though he is injured and I still think he is crazy!  Sorry no pictures of that, I haven't put them on the computer yet.

And here are just a few more pictures of Emma because I think they are cute.  Sorry this is such a long post.  Maybe I will post more often so they won't be as long.  But really maybe not.
