Work in Progress 191

Hi everyone! I hope you're doing well. I'm back from vacation and recharged. I got a little bit of time to knit in the car on the way to Las Vegas, but that's about it. I'm in a mode where I just want to finish projects, so that's my goal

First up is this project, the Strathcona scarf by Jane Richmond. It's from the Island collection. I love this pattern so far and this yarn. I've talked about it before, so won't say too much. I'm on the second  half of the scarf but have a bit more to go. Luckily it's a mindless but fun knit so hopefully it will go fast. The yarn is Skinny Bugga! by Cephalopod Yarn in the Sochi colorway, but an Oddity version of it.

This is the very start of the second sock, plus the second sock of my Socks on a Plane. I'm using Candy Skein Savory fingering. Sorry the picture is so yellow, but it's the only way the colorway comes off semi-true to life. When taken normal, the purple shows as blue. This is a great (and free) pattern. :)

That's it for me today. I hope you have a great week. I finished my Rondelay and hope to block it today. I'll share it with you either blocking or dry on Friday!

Work in Progress Wednesday 135

Hi everyone! Isn't it amazing to have it still bright and sunny at 6:30 in the evening. I was able to take a picture of my WIP today outside and it was glorious outside. We've had great weather (minus the rain last week) and I hope it continues. Maybe Spring really is here!

I'm so so so so excited to report that I finished my Color Affection shawl. I'm sure you're all breathing a sigh of relief that you won't have to look at it again...well, except on FO Friday! I hope to get great pictures of it, but if you follow me on Instagram, you've seen a few sneak peeks of JUST how big it turned out. It's almost blanket size, people! LOL Come back on Friday to see it in all its glory.

This is about WIPs though, not FOs. This is what I'm working on now.

This is the picture I took outside just now at 6:30. Impressive right? The only issue is that the color is off. This yarn is more of a sea foam green, not light blue. Last time you saw this sock, it was just a little bit of ribbing I believe. Unfortunately I haven't gotten much further (I finished binding off the Color Affection last night around 11pm), but you can now see the pattern emerge. This is the Hourglass Eyelet Socks pattern, which is free on Ravelry. It's a fun pattern so far. It's easy to follow and not too hard to remember. I think by the next pattern repeat I'll have it down. I'm using yarn I bought at Stitches, Cephalopod Yarn, Skinny Bugga! in Blue Ringed Octopus.

That's it for me today! I hope you have a great rest of your week and look forward to sharing my CA Shawl on Friday!

Work in Progress Wednesday 133

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a good week so far. It's crazy busy in my neck of the woods as we have the last push before handing over the keys to our condo to the renters. I'm so excited to get that monkey off my back of stressing about renting it.

I had a great time at Stitches and I'll write more about that later, as I'll just focus on WIPW. On the trip I got a chance to knit in the car, but not much knitting other than that believe it or not. I thought we'd have tons of time to just sit around and knit but we didn't have a moment to spare! Granted, we were only there for one full day and two days of driving.

I was happy to have an easy project like my Color Affection shawl to work in the car. The only hard part was trying to juggle three balls of yarn on my knees! As you can see, I'm working my way across the shawl with the stripes. I have a bit more to go, but I definitely made huge progress. I can't wait to bind off to really see it. It's so squished on the needles/cable, it's hard to tell what it really looks like.

This is a new project, as I was dying to cast on with new Stitches yarn and needles. It's Cephalopod Skinny Bugga! yarn in colorway Blue Ringed Octopus. I'm using the new Knitter's Pride Karbonz needles in size US 1.5 (2.5mm). I'll do a review of the needles soon! Anyway, I'm going to make the Hourglass Eyelet Socks which is a free pattern on Ravelry.

That's it for me today! I'll have more posts this week about my trip and hopefully the needles! Have a great rest of your week.
