"The Beautiful Snow" Mini Album

We have been having a whopper of a winter when it comes to snowfall and accumulation so I decided I might as well embrace it.  As you may have noticed in my last post, I used a snowman in my Valentine's Day photos and today I'm sharing a mini album completely dedicated to the "beautiful" snow.

Supplies:  Paper, Chipboard & Metal Stickers (Best Creation Inc.), Crystal Snowflake (Imaginisce), Gem Snowflakes (Zva Creative), Album (Tattered Angels), Journaling Sprouts (Jillibean Soup), Stamps (myStamp BOX), Chipboard Snowflake (Maya Roads), Gems (Teresa Collins), Die Cuts & Pearls (Jenni Bowlin), Letters (Basic Grey & American Crafts), Epoxy (Epiphany Crafts), Doily (Kaisercrafts), Pearl Swirl (Prima), Chipboard Skate (Riff Raff)

I used the "Winter Wonderful" line by Best Creation Inc. for this album.  I just love all the blues and glittery scenes on the paper.  Take a peek throughout the album and I think you will agree that this line is absolutely adorable and perfect for all things wintery.

My girls have also started downhill skiing this winter, something I have yet to get any photos of. I hope to add some to the album before the winter is over.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful Monday.

Valentine Hugs for You!

You can always tell when I've been at a crop as my blog is super busy for a week or so after the fact.  I made this page last Saturday and used all kinds of pretty things on this one.

I love Valentine's Day.  I always have.  So every year, I try to do all kinds of festive things with the kids.  One of the things I try to do is take a Valentine's Day photo for family members.  This year I had all but given up on it as I could not come up with an idea that I hadn't already used.  Four days before the big day, the snowman idea came to me.  The stars alligned for me that day. We had just had a snowfall the day before and had made a snowman but had yet to give him some personality.  Luckily I had all kinds of heart things around to decorate him with. It was a bright, sunny day and the photo came out great.  I think it is now my favourite of them all.  Someone really needs to start up a blog for unique holiday photo ideas because after awhile, it gets really hard to come up with something different.

"Valentine Hugs for You"

Supplies:  Die Cut Paper (Pink Paislee), Laser Cut Doily Paper (Basic Grey), Waffle Paper (Stampin' Up), Bling (Prima), Pins (Maya Roads), Metal Heart (Dollarama), Buttons (American Crafts), Twine (Michaels)

This metal heart you see here was a Dollarama find. I think there were 10 in the package.

The waffle paper was part of the Christmas release from Stampin' Up.  I had no idea what I was going to do with it when I ordered it, but it was so different and unique, I knew I had to give it a try.  It matched these papers beautifully.  You will undoubtedly be seeing this stuff again!

That's all for today.  Have a wonderful weekend and be sure to check back next week for some more snowmen!

"Bee Mine" Card

I can't remember the last time I posted a card on my blog so I'm definitely overdue. Today's card was also made with the new Berrylicious line by Imaginisce.  Even though Valentine's day was last week, I couldn't resist a love theme with these cute little die cut bees.

Supplies: Paper, Die Cuts (Imaginisce), Cardstock (Bazzill), Letters (American Crafts, Basic Grey)

That's all for today.  I have another love themed layout to share this week and another mini album.  Until next time,

Life's a Garden Journal

Day 2 of the Berrylicious release party continues with altered items.  I chose to make a mini album to chronicle our adventures in gardening this summer.  I used a mix of acrylic and paper lunch bags to make the album.

Supplies:  Paper, Die Cuts, Stickers, Chipboard (Imaginisce), Metal (Making Memories), Flowers (American Crafts), Die Cuts (Jenni Bowlin), Acrylic Album (Prima), Lunch Bags, Stampe (myStamp BOX, Creative Café), Letters (Jillibean Soup), Pins (Maya Roads)

I love using paper bags to make mini albums.  There are just so many folds and pocks to tuck things into.

One of our family favourites is Rhubarb Lemonade. I included the recipe in this journal and a little place to mark the date of when we make our first batch.

Notice how I used my Glossy Accents again on the die cuts to make the ice appear more "ice-like".

I love this calendar stamp by Creative Café.  I have May - July calendars in this book so we can keep track of when things are planted and when we harvert food.

There you have it.   I am really looking forward to the day when I can start filling in dates and photos.  Our garden is alot of fun for the whole family and besides that, I've had my fill of winter.

With these happy thoughts of spring, I'll leave you for today.  Be sure to stop back tomorrow for a Berrylicious card.

My Sunshine

It's that time again....RELEASE PARTY TIME!!  Today is the kick-off of the Berrylicious release and the Imaginisce blog is full of gorgeous pages of all themes made using this versatile line.

My page is called "My Sunshine". I can't tell you how much I enjoy the die cuts that accompany the new lines.  I will also confess that I was not one for die cuts at all for the longest time.  I didn't really seem to have a need for them until now.  These die cuts are so much larger than most and I really love that.  Check out the "sunshine" part of my title and you will see just what I mean.

Supplies:  Paper, Die Cuts (Imaginisce), Epoxy (Epiphany Crafts), Letter Stickers (Websters Pages), Border Punch (EK Success), Journaling Sprout (Jillibean Soup), Beads (Queen & Co)

These photos of my girls were taken last fall and Abbie made the hats.  Aren't they just adorable??

One of my favourite things to do wtih die cuts is to give them some texture.  On the flowers, I covered them with Glossy Accents and then I sprinkled beads into the centre of each flower.  I also adhered them with foam mounting sqaures.  I gave the sun a little boost with an oversize button and a 1" epoxy by Epiphany Crafts.

Something else you need to check out is the new e-newsletter.  The premiere issue was met with rave reviews. To subscribe, make sure you check out THIS LINK.  You won't be disappointed.

In other news, my baby girl turns ONE YEAR OLD today.  We had a little party for her last night and I still can't seem to wrap my head around the idea that my days with a baby in the house are numbered.  Here she is playing with her balloon.

Happy Birthday Baby Doll!!

Be sure to keep checking back all week as I have all kinds of goodies I'm just itching to share.
Thanks for stopping by!

Handmade Flowers Blog Hop with Best Creations

Hello and welcome.  If you have just happened upon my blog today, you may wish to go to the START of the blog hop so you don't miss a single one of the fantastic handmade paper flowers ideas.

Accordian Flower:
The flower I decided to make today is not a new one.  In fact, accoridan flowers are everywhere these days.  What I did a little differently this time was to use my border punch to make the edge a little fancier.  Before I folded the paper, I punched it with my Fiskars's effervescence border punch.  Once it is all folded and made into a flower, you get this really cute edging from the border punch.

Supplies:  Paper & Glittered Cardstock (Best Creation Inc.), Leaf (Prima), Cardstock (Bazzill), Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug), Epoxy (Epiphany Crafts), Die (Spellbinders), Crocheted Flower (American Crafts), Rub-Ons (Jenni Bowlin), Border Punch (Fiskars)

The flower center is actually made from an Epiphany Crafts' epoxy shape and the Bella line from Best Creation.

I also made a coordinating goodie bag to match the card.  I used another miniature accordian flower here as well.  I tied some twine around the bag in such a way that the goodie bag could be hung as a surprise to the recipient.  I can see it hanging off the corner of a computer monitor or maybe a door knob as a sweet surprise on Valentine's Day.

The final stop on our blog hop is Teresa Horner's blog.  Be sure to take a moment and check out her beautiful flowers.  I do hope you've been inspired today.  Have fun and thanks for stopping by.

Home Sweet Home

I am happy to report that I am home after a whirlwind trip to Los Angeles for the Craft & Hobby Association winter show.  I narrowly missed a big snow storm that closed schools Wednesday and added yet another foot or so of snow to an already blanketed landscape.  Slowly but surely I am getting back into the routine and blogging about my excursion is top on my list.

This show was a little different for me than the last time I went as I spent most of my time facilitating demonstrations and make and takes.  What a treat it was to work with so many enthusiastic crafters and store owners.  A video of one of my Epiphany Crafts demonstrations making Hair Clips actually turned up on You-Tube.  Be kind. I had no warning and zero preparation.

I think the biggest highlight of the show was finally meeting face to face many of the talented scrapbookers that I have had the pleasure of designing with over the years.

I am completely and totally embarrassed to admit that I don't have a single photo from the show. Not a single one.  No joke.  Nevertheless, I can still update you on a few of my favourite finds, in no particular order:

1.  We Are Memory Keepers - Lucky 8 Punch.  This tool will allow you to create your own 12 inch die cut paper in 8 punches.

2.  Petaloo - Garlands & Trims. These speak for themselves.

3.  Fancy Pants - Artist Edition Chipboard Banners (5x8)

There were so many gorgeous banners throughout the Fancy Pants booth, I had to find out what they were using.

I love every single piece of this collection.

4.  Glue Arts - Extreme Tac Double-Sided Adhesive.  All I can say is, "Where do I get mine?"

5.  Pink Paislee:  Daily Junque Collection Chalkboard Stickers

Imagine the possibilities for home decor.

I'll leave you with that for today.  Stay tuned over the next week or as things get rolling again on my blog.  Look for a flower themed blog hop on Monday and some Valentine's Day projects soon thereafter.  Have a wonderful weekend!
