Epiphany Crafts' Card-a-Palooza Sweepstakes Blog Hop

Welcome to Epiphany Crafts inaugural blog hop and Card-a-Palooza.  If you have just happened upon my blog today, you may wish to go to the start of the blog hop so you don't miss any of the cards the design team has prepared.  As you hop your way from blog to blog you will see 12 different cards showcasing Epiphany Crafts used with 12 different manufacturers.  As you visit each of our design team member's blogs, make a note of the sponsoring company. After you know all 12 companies visit the Epiphany Crafts Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Epiphany-Crafts/138008244814 and leave a comment on the Card-A-Palooza thread listing the 12 companies (abbreviations are okay) and you will be entered into the drawing for a GIANT prize package. You will be receiving product from each of the sponsoring companies plus tools from EC. Best of all, you will be receiving the 12 handmade cards shown on the blogs, all ready to use throughout the year. This is a huge giveaway that you won't want to miss!

The month of August is full of birthdays in my family so I have prepared a Birthday Card today using the 14mm round shape tool in conjunction with myStamp BOX stamps.

Supplies:  Paper (Best Creation Inc.), Stamps (myStamp BOX), Floss (Karen Foster), Shape Tool (Epiphany Crafts), Gems (Kaisercrafts)

The pennants you see here are a brand new release from myStamp BOX. Look for it on the site in the very near future.  The sentiment is from the "Mention It" set.

I used two different pennant stamps to acheive the look you see here.  I raised the solid shape on top of the scallop pennant with foam mounting squres.  The little stars were punched directly from the Best Creation patterned paper.  You wouldn't know I made them if I didn't tell you.  That's how great these tools are!

Next up on your blog hop is the talented LISA WILKINSON

Have Fun & Good Luck!

STAMP GIVEAWAY!!

Where have I been, you may be wondering?  Well, I've had all kinds of distractions these past few weeks, from gardening and pickling, to watching my girls get more confident on their bikes now that we have a freshly paved driveway.  On the crafting front, I just finished three Christmas cards that you will see in the winter issue of Canadian Scrapbooker and a page for their cover challenge.  Wish me luck!  I've also been creating work for an upcoming blog hop with Epiphany Crafts and sponsors that you won't want to miss. The  prize package is very generous so be sure to check back for that one.  AND myStamp BOX partnered with Kiki Arts this month so look for those projects near the end of August.  Whew!  Things have been hectic.  That's just how I like it! :)

To keep you all entertained while you wait for the next rush of projects, I've put together a little something from some of my most favourite stamp companies.

One lucky blog reader will win this entire group of stamps, 7 packages in all.  There are stamps by Basic Grey, myStamp BOX, Unity Stamp Company, Studio Calico, My Favourite Things and one Versa Color Ink pad (Pacific).  Check out the detail shots below.

How cute are these?

All you have to do is comment on this post to be entered into the random draw.  That's it.  If you want to tell me what you do or don't love about stamping, go ahead.  Or maybe you have a favourite pickle recipe.  Whatever. Just leave me a little note so I know you were here and want to play along.  If you do not have a google account, you can still comment. Just make sure you put your name and an email address so I can get in touch with you if you win.  Good Luck to all and thanks so very much to all of you who continue to visit.  I truly appreciate it.  Enjoy the last few precious days of August!

Life's Most Precious Gifts

Supplies: Paper & Die Cuts (Upsy Daisy Designs), Lace Flowers (Jolees), Butterfly Stem (Recollections), Letters (American Crafts, Jenni Bowlin, Websters Pages), Trim (Websters Pages)

Today's page is design work for Upsy Daisy Designs featuring their new line "Home Sweet Home".  As much as I hate to admit it (I saw red leaves today!?!), fall is on the way and this line will be perfect for all those beautiful fall photos.  In the meantime, here is a page of my baby girl and her Great Grammie.

Detail shots:

Journaling Reads: Write it on your heart that the ones you love are life's most precious gifts.

Today's Design Tip:  As many of you know, I adore shaped paper and can't bear to part with even a little piece of it.  When cutting piece off my shaped paper, I oftentimes will use them on the same page like I did here.  I offset the scallop to the left and had a small piece of it that was leftover, so I found a place for it on the right side of the photo.  This way I've added another little detail on my page and used the little piece that would otherwise be thrown out.

Under Your Spell

Supplies:  Paper (Best Creations Inc.), Chipboard (Magistical Memories), Pearls (Zva Creative), Letters (Websters Pages), Border Punch (Martha Stewart Creations), Doily (Little Yellow Bicycle), Scallop Punch (Marvy Uchida)

I don't know where the week has gone, but I'm finally back with a new page to share.  You may have remembered me talking about this particular line awhile back.  It's called "Once Upon a Dream" by Best Creations Inc. and is the first official girly line that I've ever purchased.  This is the third project I've made with the line and I just love them all.  My oldest daughter looked at this one this morning and told me she loved it because it had all her favourite colours.

Design Notes:
To create the layers on top of the lace doily, I used my Martha Stewart Loopy Corner Punch.  I cut a series of them out on a straight run of pink cardstock and cut the little pieces out one by one and adhered them around my circle.  You may remember me doing this before on a card.  I can't say enough about how much I've enjoyed the new trend of border punches.  After I had all my lace, loops and paper all layered up, I topped the whole thing with a handmade wand.  A Magistical Memories chipboard star formed the base and the gem star you see is from the Dollarama.  You really should take a stroll through their craft section about once a month as they really do have some great treasures to be had.

I'll leave you with that for today and a wish for a wonderful week.
Thanks for stopping by,
Tracey
