Kraft Thank You Card

The latest challenge at Caardvarks is to create a card with kraft cardstock. I just couldn't make a kraft card without adding a little corrugated cardboard, or the like, so I dusted of my Fiskars paper crimper and crimped some black cardstock. I need to use this tool more often. I just love the look.
I just LOVE this THANK YOU circle stamp by My Stamp BOX. It's actually a flower center but it worked just perfect in the 7 Gypsies tabbed clip.

And a peek with the outside flap open and the interior:

Supplies: Cardstock (Bazzill, Scrapbook Sally), Paper (Bo Bunny), stamps (My Stamp BOX), butterfly (Riff Raff), pearls & dew drops (Kaiser Crafts), paper lace (Prima), tabbed clip (7 Gypsies), ribbon (Offray), Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels)

REMINDER:
Don't forget to get your name in for the BLOG CANDY!!

Have a GREAT Saturday!

Blog Candy

Paws on Scrapbooking has generously donated one of their project kits to one lucky blog reader. Each person has a chance for a maximum of three ballots in the draw. Here's all your have to do:

1. Take a peek at the project kits at Paws and choose which one you'd like to play for. The March project kit will be posted on or about the first of March and is also up for grabs. Comment on this blog post with your choice.

2. Spread the word about this blog candy by posting on your blog about it. Link me up in a separate comment on this blog post.

3. Tell me what you would like to see in a project kit tailored especially for you. Perhaps you'd like to see coordinating product from a variety of manufacturers, or maybe products that are re-useable like inks and templates. Maybe you like to learn new techniques or how to make projects from scratch. The sky's the limit here.

NOTE: Please make sure that you create a new comment post for each of the three ways to get a ballot.

A winner will be chosen by a random number generator in about a week, giving you lots of opportunity to get your name in.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Tooty Toot Toot!

Scrapbook Trends requested one of my mini books for their Mini Album Idea Book due out this July. My husband and I spent our fifth wedding anniversary in Quebec City and I made this album to remember our trip. I couldn't be more pleased they chose this one. Thanks for sharing in my excitement!

Making Your Workspace Stamp Friendly

The February newsletter at Treasured Scrapbooking went out today and I wrote an article on stamping that I thought I'd also share here. If you'd like to sign up for your own copy of this scrapbooking newsletter full of tips and tricks, you can do so at the bottom of the home page.

Making Your Workspace Stamp Friendly
By: Tracey Taylor, Design Team Member

It's confession time. How many stamps do you own and when is the last time you've used them? If you're anything like me, you'd be afraid to know how many stamps you own. It wasn't until just recently that I blew the dust off my collection and started making stamps part of my scrapbooking necessities. Why and how did this change of mind come about? About a year ago, we finished a spare room in the basement that I have now claimed as my scrap room. Organizing all my supplies into this space made me realize just how many stamps, among other things, that I own. Reflecting on why I seldom used them made me realize that it just seemed like too much work to find them, use them, clean them, then put them away again. So I decided to make my work space more stamp friendly. This can be done, whether you have your own scrap room or not, in a few easy steps:

1. Have a box of baby wipes handy. This takes all the pain and suffering out of stamp cleaning.
2. Keep all your favorite stamps accessible and in sight. Every so often go through your stash and update your favorites.
3. Keep inks upside down and stacked within reach.
4. Always keep a few scrap pieces of clear packaging. Before putting ink to paper with a stamp, experiment first on something clear. Lay the image on your project until you've found exactly the right position, then stamp away without any hesitation.

That's it! So what are you waiting for? Pull a few of your favorite stamps and try them again. You'll be glad you did.

Love it's a wonderful thing

Here is a closer look at the February project kit at Paws on Scrapbooking. I wanted to make a book about love this month, but not one that had a Valentine's Day theme and so this project was born. It is full of some of my most favourite photos of my family.

The heart button on the front was handmade by Stephanie Hart. You can check out more of her wonderful clay buttons on her website, My Little Bit of Whimsy. The "it's a wonderful thing" part of the title is a vinyl transfer made especially for this kit by Creative Expressions. It is super easy to use and works beautifully on the Heidi Swapp mirror book here.

Here's a peek at a few of the interior pages.

The interior pages are sheer and decorated with several fabulous products by Little Yellow Bicycle. The kit comes complete with all the products necessary to create the project in addition to full, colour photo, step by step instructions. Please check the following links for kit club enrollment options or one time kit purchases.

Julia @ 18 Months

I had some time yesterday and decided to dig out my American Crafts stash and do the Dream Girls' Challenge 22. The stitched heart was one of the techniuqes featured in this month's issue of Creating Keepsakes. I really like the effect. I will definitely do this again.
Thanks for stopping by!

Doing the Happy Dance!

I am super excited to announce that I am one of the new design team members for my Stamp BOX, a clear stamp manufacturer. Their designs are absolutely wonderful and their stamp storage system is so clever. The stamps come in little cases similar in style to CDs that flip open in such a way that they sit upright on the table top so the stamps are easy to access as you work, and a snap to put away. You must take a moment to check out their products. I simply cannot wait to get started.
Here is the complete design team list:
Cathy Schellenberg (DT coordinator)
Allison Cope
Cherie Nymeyer
Gudrun Loennecken
Jolene Johnston
Kryssi Ng
Lara Brooks
Leica Forrest
Marci Knecht
Trace Geworsky
Tracey Taylor
