May Arts Design Team Finalist Blog Post

I am absolutely floored and excited beyond belief to be one of the finalists for the May Arts Design Team.I could scream from the rooftops, but that might wake up the neighbors.

Today I am going to share with you my "finalist" video. I created a round canvas (Thank you Martha Richardson for sharing the love of circles) where the entire surface has been created using May Arts Ribbons and Helmar Adhesives. I'm so pleased with how this has turned out and I would love to hear your comments everyone. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, That is what I'm here for.

Now on with the show.

Here are a a few detail photos of the project showing some of the amazing texture that I was able to create with the ribbons and trim.

And the entire canvas in all its creative glory!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you all enjoyed your July 1st and 4th celebrations. Until next time

Momenta Butterfly Garden Layout and Fussy Cutting

Pastels are a huge trend right now. You can see them in Fashion, Home Decor and Paper crafting. When I received my latest design team products from Momenta, The Butterfly Gardens paper stack screamed at me. Well since it is filled with butterflies, maybe it was more like a soft whisper, but you know what I mean lol.

Today I am going to share with you a layout I created using the Butterfly Garden Paper pad, Butterfly Embossed Cardstock messages and Butterfly Mini Puffy Icon Stickers. The combination was perfect for a very girly layout of our little girl in her favorite pink jacket.

I also used a sentiment sticker from the My Style Puffy Stickers sheet to tie in the big fabric flower. Here are a few photos of the layout for you.

I did a lot of fussy cutting with the papers to create embellishments and the flowers and butterflies are great to do this with.

I also added a little Rock Candy Distress Stickles to the pieces I fussy cut, to give them a little blingage.

Here is the complete layout. Everything has been adhered using Helmar Adhesives and I added a little distressing to the edges of the layout.

That is it for me today. I hope you all have a great weekend. Tomorrow, I'm going to select a winner for my small blog candy that I have so if you haven't entered , you can find the post HERE.

Until then

Now here is my National Scrapbooking Day Hop Project for you!

Each one of us that scrapbooks, is an artist. We share ourselves on paper every time we create. I wanted to create a layout that shared a little of my passion for poetry, so here it is..The Road Less Traveled

The journal tag is from the Noteworthy A paper, which I fussy cut. I added a little Aged Mahogany distress ink to it as well, which matches the color of the Sincerely collection perfectly.

I love the font of the Alpha Stickers from the Sincerely collection. So beautiful!!!

Here is the complete layout. I added some True Blood Glimmer Mist to the flowers to match them to the layout as well. Yup, the Sincerely collection is my favorite for sure.

Now it is your turn to leave a comment and let me know what you are doing for NSD. One lucky commenter will receive a gift of goodies from me to celebrate!!! After you've left your comment, hop on over to Kristin's Blog and see what she has created to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day with all of you.

Raise the Bar Challenge #22

Hello Everyone and welcome to Friday. Today is Challenge Day over at Raise the Bar. This weeks challenge is Sweet Music. Interpret this as you will and show us what you've got. For this challenge as a Design Team member, I created this card using a great quote from Unity Stamps and made the music note flowers.

Majority of the paper is from Fancy Pants Road Show collection and I added a little Fruit Punch Stickles to the flowers for extra POP. The whole card was created using Helmar adhesive. I used the 450 Quick Dry Adhesive for the flowers. The music note strip in the center of the card is Vellum, so I got to try out the V2 Vellum Adhesive and I'm S.M.I.T.T.E.N with it. The rest of the card was assembled using the Quick Fix Adhesive Runner.

So if Music inspires you, Hop on over to this weeks Raise the Bar Challenge and show us what you've got.

Thanks for stopping by today

Gray can be cheery too!!!

Hi Everyone. Hope you are all enjoying your week. The weather is quite nice here over the past few days, but still a wee bit cold at night. Our son had a t-ball practice yesterday and "hit one outta the park". Well at least a preschool sized park. Talk about one of the cutest things I've seen in a while.

I'm sharing with you today a card I made a little bit ago. One of my favorite color combos Gray and Yellow. I hope you enjoy it. I'll have something new for you later today. I've been creating like a mad woman, but you can't see the new ones until the next SNR magazine comes out, so make sure you look for them.

Just a little snippet for you. SNR has their June and July Calls up for projects. What a great way to showcase your art. Take a moment today and check out what they are looking for. Enter a submission. You know you wanna. And perhaps sign up for the forums and the magazine. The forums are free and filled with amazing information and the atmosphere is the best I've seen out there (and believe me, I'm in a whole lotta forums). And the magazine has amazing eye candy, tips and techniques, awesome articles. Shall I go on? The cost is so teeny tiny for what you receive.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope to see you again tomorrow. Have an awesome day and remember to take a moment to enjoy the little things.

Mojo Monday #79

Hello Everyone and Happy Tuesday to you. This week I have done the Mojo Monday Challenge and REALLY love this sketch. I've even put it in my sketch organizer. She is a real beaut, and I hope you take a crack at this sketch too. On with the show... I decided to do a cheery, happy card. I find that I am usually drawn to darker colors for the drama, but wanted to pick something on the brighter side. For the CS I used Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Old Olive and a Turquoise that I had in my scraps. This turquoise has sparkles YEAH!!! I also used a real purdy matte from the DCWV All Dressed Up Stack.
For the background on the Very Vanilla, I thought I would try my hand at making one, so I used a few different stamps. A swirl heart SU background, Flourish from Autumn Leaves, and both Cerulean Azure and Chartreuse Leaf Nick Bantock Inks. Then I colored in the hearts with a black Glaze pen. Quite pretty if I do say so myself. What do you think?
Then the flower image was stamped with Onyx Versafine on the Vanilla and layered on that sparkly Turquoise CS. I finished the card off with a Organza black bow and a Acrylic definition sticker.

Did I make the cut with this card turning out Happy? Hope you enjoyed my little creation today. Thanks so much for stopping by and...
