It's a Small World

Hello everyone and HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!! Erika Taylor here today. It has been a while since I've been present in the crafting community and I'm so excited to be back. After taking a hiatus for 3 months, I am back in the saddle and here to share with you two projects I've created using the whimsical papers by Susan K Weckesser "Live In Color". These happy papers were exactly what I needed to get my creative mojo back up and running.

I created a quick card for you today and you can see the entire scrapbook layout over on the Susan Weckesser blog!!! A combination of greens and pinks on this one and a metal butterfly from Momenta. I thought the sentiment was perfect for my "return" into the industry. It's been a while, but remember when...

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today and leaving a comment.I would really love to hear from you all today, so say hello

Core Cards Creative Frenzy

When it comes to card stock, sometimes it is hard to find the perfect match for your projects. Yup I struggled with this ALOT, until I found Core'dinations cardstock. This stuff is truly beautiful to work with and since I do have a soft spot for distressing, there truly is none better!!!

Today I've decided to take the plunge for a shot at the Core'dinations Card Designer Call. Yes I know that I've been making a bunch of layouts and mixed media pieces, but I started this journey with a love for card making, and that has never gone away. I am going to share with you today, a few projects I've created and hopefully these projects with catch the eyes of the good peeps at Core'dinations.

So here we go.... First off a Christmas card I created using Cottage Porch WhiteWash paper. Core'dination papers are beautiful to emboss with aren't they!!!

The second project is this wonderful card, where I used Forest Moss Distress papers

Last but not least is this layout I created using a combination of Cordinations papers. I love how well they heat emboss and those frayed edges....SWOON!!!!!

I think that is it for today. I would love to hear how you like to use Core'dinations products. Until next time

Momenta Guest Designer

Sometimes when you get crafting products you are just moved to create. Something goes off in the Mojo part of the brain and you are racing down a path of creativity. This is exactly what happened when I receive my goodies from Momenta to be their October Guest Designer.

Today I've got 6 projects to share with you and I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did creating them. I got to work with 2 amazing collections from Momenta, both very different, but super sweet to work with.... and the Stickers!!!! Holy Batman these stickers are a TONNE of fun!!!

First off, 3 projects using the Chloes Garden Collection. Filled with soft tones of pinks, browns, blues and greens. This first card is super sweet  and a little girly with some wonderful ribbon to make it even sweeter. The stickers are puffy and filled with glittery goodness. Perfect for card making and scrapbooking.

Now I used the same Chloes Garden paper pack to create a much more masculine card. I added some Robin's Nest dewdrops using Helmar Gemstone Glue to finish it off.

Next a 12 x 12 layout using the Chloes Garden one last time. These papers were a perfect fit for the cheesy two tooth grin my daughter had in this photo. I did some fussy cutting of the flowers and added some flourishes and butterflies as well.

Here is a close up of the layout for you. I just love the soft palette that Chloes Garden has.

Next are three cards I created using the EYE POPPING Kaleidoscope Paper Pack and matching stickers. This has to be one of the most fun collections I've worked with in a while. So vibrant and cheery and the designs are awesome. The first card has some fun flourish stickers and great little gemstones from Momenta. I think I might have to send it to my girlfriend Jenn. Hope your house gets better soon hun!!!

Then a little more color with a great card using some Spellbinders dies and a few more butterfly punches. So fun!!!

And lastly a sweet card using some border stickers and that great Always sticker sentiment. Isn't this Kaleidoscope Paper Pack with matching stickers amazing??? I think so!!! Very Flower Power for sure

Thank you so so very much Jamie and Everyone at Momenta for giving me the opportunity to work with your products. I absolutely loved creating with them and I know I'll be using more of them in the future.

Saskatchewan Tiger Lily

When I saw this stamp at I Brake for Stamps, it made me think of my husband. Why you ask would a flower do that? Well the Tiger Lily is the Provincial flower for Saskatchewan, and my wonderful husband is from there. So I asked if this one could be included in my design team package, and I'm so glad I selected it.

Hi everyone, I'm here today to share with you a card I created using the Large Lily with Forever stamp. For this image, I stamped on some beautiful Mica/Metallic paper in Quartz  from Paper Temptress. I embossed the image, then painted it entirely with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and Glimmer Glaze. Once dried, I added a little Copic marker in burgundy and finished it off with Helmar Crackle Medium. I love how this one turned out.

It has a bit of a watercolor feel and I love it. This image stamps so amazingly clean and was super easy to work with. Here is a close up of the flower for you, so you can really see the detail.

Isn't that beautiful? If you love flowers, there are so many stamps to chose from at I Brake for Stamps. Everything from collage to bold and anything in between. Take a look and grab yourself a couple of flower stamps today. When you do, make sure to use my design team code SAVE10ERIKA to save yourself 10%

Tattered Angels and Prima. The PERFECT combination!!!

I think two of my favorite products on the market have to be Tattered Angels and Prima. They go together like peanut butter and jelly and are beautiful to work with. When our theme over at Tattered Angels this month was a partnering with Prima, I just about inked. The creative wheels started turning and I created 3 projects using some of the prettiest color combinations I've seen.

All of the projects below use Helmar Adhesives, they truly are the best there is and I couldn't create without them. My go to glues are Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots, Helmar Premium Craft Glue and Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.

Here they are for you.

First off a layout using the Prima Canvas combined with the Prima Tattered Angels clam pack colors (Patina, Cranberry Zing and Suede)

Next a card I created using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and water to create a water color effect. Love the result this created.

And lastly a Dreams mini book front page that I created. Tracy Weinzapfel, a good friend, started a challenge on her blog to create a Life List Journal. I have never created a mini book before, but something in Tracy's word inspired me to at least try. Thank you so so very much Tracy for you inspiration and your belief in me. You have been there when I've had troubles and you always know exactly what to say. (if you haven't seen Tracy's blog before, please go take a peek and follow, she truly is amazing in every way)

I'll be back tomorrow with a few more projects for you. I've got posts up at Cottage Cutz and I Brake for Stamps today as well, so be sure to take a boo would ya?

I Brake for Stamps Design Team!!!

Hi everyone. I've got some news to share with you today YIPPPPPPPPY!!!!!

I'm so stinkin excited to be a part of the fantastic team at I Brake for Stamps. When Della got a hold of me to ask if I would be interested, I am pretty sure I squealed like a piggy. I've had the opportunity to work with these beautiful images before, and I hope that our journey together will inspire you.

Today I'm sharing with you two projects that I've created. The first is an artistic tag. For this tag I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and Distress Crackle Paint to create the backgrounds on both the tag and the Basically Bare Chipboard Hearts. After the paint was dry, I stamped the beautiful Floral Silhouette Bouquet onto the hearts using Versamark, then embossed them with a pretty Pewter embossing powder. The image is very soft, but adds to the tag perfectly. To add a little pop of colour, I used these sweet 8mm Deep Red Roses.

Next, I created a card using one of my favorite types of stamps available at I Brake For Stamps. If you haven't picked up any of the collage stamps, You've just gotta!!! the images are striking and the option to double stamp and fussy cut to create dimension is amazing.

First off, I took a white piece of card stock and sprayed it with Pink Polka Dot and Teal High Heel Chalkboard Glimmer Mist. Once completely dry, I stamped the Napoli Collage stamp using Versafine in black, Then I restamped the image onto a scrap piece of white card stock and embossed with a glitter embossing powder. I fussy cut the butterfly, and added it to the front of the card using Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. The color combination of pink, teal and black is truly beautiful. To add a little more dimension to the image, I highlighted the sentiment and some of the fruit with a white pen.

So what do you think of my first projects? I hope that I've given you some inspiration today and you create create create!!! Don't forget to use my design team code to get a discount on stamps. A little Summer Celebration

Don't ya just love bright and cheery colors? You know, the ones that take you to dreams of flower gardens, carnivals and rainbows? Yup I love COLOR and I have a few colorful projects to share with you today using Nikki Sivils products, Tattered Angels Goodness and some wonderful Basically Bare elements!!!

First off a card filled with flutterbies. I used the It's Your Day collection and some yummy Core'dinations Gemstone cardstock to create this one. A little run through one of my favorite Timmy folders and this card was ready for color...

Next, I've got an Art Journal page to share that is screaming with colors from Summer. I love how the Tattered Angels colors blend together on this one. I also used a few Dress My Up Dress Form pieces from Basically Bare to capture the "blackbird" in my mind. The felt pieces hold color so stinkin amazingly!!!

Edited to include colors for Tattered Angels Products:
I used Sun Sisters, Tuscan Sun, Rum Punch, Puerto Rico, Trunk Bay and Lavender Fields Glimmer Mists. The Chipboard dress form is sprayed with Bell Bottom Jeans and the Felt dress form is sprayed with a combination of Viva Pink and Bahama Blue finished off with a healthy serving of Chandelier Glimmer Glam. Finally I sprayed the Canvas wings with Charcoal Chalkboard Glimmer Mist and added a dash of Chandelier Glimmer Glam for that added sparkle.

Ain't that a Pip!!! Anyways, I'm off to take the munchkins to school for the day. Hope you all have a fantastic day and remember to create something every moment you can.

It is shaping up to be a fairly nice week and I can finally see the front lawn YEAH!!!! Our boy is back to school and feeling much much better. Thank goodness for amoxicillin.

Today I've got a few cards to share with you. First a shaped card (which I create very infrequently). This card has a bunch of Creative Imagination papers  and a TreeO stamp from PSA Essentials. I used some leather rope from Canvas Corp to really finish it off.

Next a bright and cheery card using a Hello Kitty stamp from PSA Essentials. I've paired it up with some wonderfully bright papers and ribbon from Fancy Pants Designs  called About a Girl. Love this collection. Then again I love anything Fancy Pants!!! I've used some Tim Holtz grungeboard for the butterfly wings and sprayed them with my favorite color of Chalkboard Glimmer Mist: Polka Dot Pink!!!

Two very different cards, but I'm hoping they brought a smile to your face today. Well I'm off to take photos of my craft space. It will be featured on the 16th of April on the Tattered Angels Blog. All of the designers this month are sharing their spaces, so go check them out so far.

It's All Rock N Roll to Me!!!!

There is something so liberating about embracing change. It allows you to grow in ways you never imagined. Although that change can add to stress and difficulties, it is how you come out of it that truly matters.

Tomorrow my husband will finally arrive here to live. It has been 2+ months and I am beyond thrilled that we will be a family under one roof again. It is the little things I've missed the most and I know the children feel the same. So I think it is a time to celebrate. Celebrate the goodness in our lives and enjoy those little things.

Today I've got a few sparkly creations to share with you, using Sparkle N Sprinkle products. I am falling in love all over again with stamping and I wonder why I ever let it slide away. These stamps from SNS are truly beautiful to create with. I love the crisp images and the designs are vast!!!

First off a little Rock and Roll card for you using Paper Trunk papers and the Rock On Collage stamp. I've used Oriental Fire embossing powder and Black Ice Glitter to create a hopping card. Love that Oriental Fire Embossing Powder!!!

Now how about a Mardi Gras inspired card? Filled with purples, greens and silvers. YUMMO! The stamp is one of the beautiful Art Deco stamps from Sparkle N Sprinkle. These images are absolutely stunning and I love the feel and movement they have. This stamp is called Mon Amis Umbrella and can be found in the Mon Ami stamp set. I've paired the image up with Peacock Embossing PowderPurple Fusion and Sassy Silver Glitter to create that perfect Fat Tuesday card.

So if you love embossing powders, glitter and great stamp images, take a look over at the Sparkle N Sprinkle store. There is so much to feast your eyes on and you'll want to grab a few jars for sure.

Well, I'm off to do a little laundry before I start creating again. The children are both getting better, thanks to amoxicillin YEAH!!! Until next time

The dimension is brought to you by Heaven in a Tube aka Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots.
