Mojo Monday, Guest Designer and News

Hi Everyone and welcome to the weekend. Stampede has started here in Calgary and I'm certain that the kidlets and I will be tackling a few pancake breakfasts. Watched a bit of the parade on Friday and the kids really enjoyed that.

Today is a busy day. First off I am the guest designer over at Darkroom Door. 2 days of projects and I'd love for you to check them out. I had such a great time creating with the Darkroom Door stamps, and if you love rubber stamps with beautiful images, take a look at their wonderful selection.

Next up my challenge entry for the newest Mojo Monday challenge. It has been a while since I participated, but the new sketch got my Mojo revving. I used the Soiree collection from Pink Paislee as well as my favorite Helmar adhesives: 450 Quick Dry, Zapdots and Liquid Scrap Dots.

Love the colors and the images in this collection. So fun and vibrant.

Last but not least I have been invited to be a part of the Scrapping Cottage Design Team. I love using dies in my projects and I'm looking forward to sharing those projects with you. To take a look at the new design team, check out the Scrapping Cottage Blog.

Thanks everyone for stopping by today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Mojo Monday and Sparkle N Sprinkle

Just a few more hours and Mark will be here full time. I'm so excited I can hardly stand still!!!! Family dinners at the table, walks outside, and all those things that we love to do as a family are going to happen again really soon.

Today I've got a card to share that I created using the Sketch from Mojo Monday this week. I really love this sketch and it always feels good to be able to participate in a challenge or two.I've used some beautiful Really Reasonable Ribbon to highlight the Floral Champagne stamp from Sparkle N Sprinkle. I really like how this turned out and I thing that honeysuckle and navy is my new favorite color combo. What do you think???

Now off to take the kidlets to Grammas for a bit. This girl is off to work and when I get home, my loving husband will be here EEEEEEEK!!!!!

Mojo Monday and Nikki Sivils

It has been ages since I've done a challenge or two and I'm super dooper excited about the card I created for the Mojo Monday 172 challenge this week. I was sitting in my craft room looking at the wonderful papers from the Nikki Sivils Sugar Cookies collection and the mojo took over. 6 cards later....

Yup, this collection is so full of love and sweetness that it truly has the best name ever. Who doesn't love Sugar Cookies right? A little Creative Charms goodness and a dollup of Liquid Pearls and this sweet card was ready.

Super Sweet indeed. Hope you all had a very good weekend. This week I've got lots and lots to share with you all. See you soon

GCD May Spotlight Gal

Hello Everyone and welcome to my blog. Today I'm sharing my first project as one of the May Spotlight Gals for GCD Studios. I absolutely fell head over heels in love with GCD as soon as I started making cards. I still remember that first piece of GCD paper that went through my fingers. It was the Mosaic Hearts. The texture, the quality, the YUMMO factor!!! Undeniable. I think, looking back, that it was GCD that started my.... shall i say addiction.

Today, I'm sharing with you a project that i've made using the Artsy Urban collection. This line is stunning, and I love creating with it. I love adding a LOT of patterns into my projects and this is no exception. I'm all about the texture. So without further adieu, here is my first Spotlight Gal project.

I've used this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch for this card. Couldn't pass it up hehe
You can see more GCD creations at the GCD Studios Blog and on their Facebook Page.

Pssst, i used a whole bunch of Helmar with this card. Adhesive Runner, Craft Glue and Zap Dots.

A very Happy Mothers Day to all my readers.

Today is a very special day for all of us. Everyone has a direct link to motherhood. You either are a mom or have one, know a mom or are friends with one. Take a moment today to Dream, to say a little prayer or to just be. The card I have for you is all about the biggest mom that is a part of all of our lives. Mother Nature. I hope you enjoy it and it brings a smile to your face. It is this weeks Mojo Monday challenge entry.
I don't use my cuttlebug folders half as much as I should, and I'm making a little pledge to do so. This one is done on Core'dinations paper and sanded for the image to pop out. One other thing I need to use more of is this paper. And for the first time ever, I did a little paper piercing. Kinda cool if I may say so myself, although I gotta work on the straight lines lol.

Accessories: Fabulous Chipboard shapes (Chatterbox), Chocolate and Ivory Pearls (Kaiser Craft), Teal Satin ribbon, black and white ribbon
Coloring agents: Cerulean Azure (Nick Bantock)
Die cuts- Labels One (Spellbinders)
Paper: Card stock- True Black(PTI), Teal Hocus Pocus (Core'dinations), Darling Dear (Sassafras), Urban Oasis (SU)

Mojo Monday Challenge #73

Have I told you lately how much I adore Mojo Mondays? If not well now you know. This is this weeks sketch challenge and I thought I would use some colors that were a little more "demure" haha. I love working with color, so I was hummin and hawin about this one, but the finished product tickles my fancy. So here as per usual is the sketch followed by my take on it. Let me know what you think!!!

For this card I used a great Zebra stamp that I received in a Time to Stamp grab bag and I love this lil guy. The cardstock I used is SU Basic Black and Whisper White as well as a matte from the Far East DCWV matte stack and the zebra print from the All Dress up Matte Stack.
I used 3 different kinds of ink for this card. Versafine Onyx Black and Smokey Gray as well as Nick Bantock Van Dyke Brown. I seem to have a need to distress the edges of a card. maybe I can break myself of that, but for now I like the effect it has.
Adding some color to the landscape under the striped ones feet with Le Plume markers to give some depth. Lastly, a pretty piece of brown grosgrain ribbon and a wooden button to finish it off.

Hope you enjoyed the card and

Mojo Monday Challenge

It is so nice to be posting. I certainly don't like when this many days goes by, but hopefully this will be worth the wait. This Mojo Monday Sketch challenge was so much fun and I am glad that i took part in it. So without any more waiting, here is the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge #72 On your mark, get set and go...

And now my take on this great sketch.

I finally used my little stash of Basic Grey Ambrosia Paper. Gosh I love this company. There are some absolutely awesome paper collections. Now to just find a way to buy each and every one. (pondering)

I had gone down to Havre Montana last weekend and they have a Ben Franklins, so I picked up a bunch of ribbon. Now I can see how people get ribbon addiction. So many beautiful colors, textures and designs.

The stamp is the sweet butterfly from the Dreams du Jour Set by SU. I admit I love butterflies and winged things in general. They are just so purdy to create with. I used a little pumpkin shimmerz on this little fella.

Hope you all enjoyed this card. Have a terrific thursday and

Mojo Monday Challenge

There are quite a few great challenge sites out there, and one that I have come across that I really like is Mojo Monday They have some great sketch challenges and i've decided to be an active participant with these. This past monday they sketch challenge was

Here is my take on it

I used a bazzill linen textured cardstock in a very very purple, the striped matstack from All Dressed Up DCWV and a rose black and white print. The stamp is a ? (it was my moms many years ago) and I painted it with Coal Shimmerz then tried my first attempt at the bandana effect with a white souffle pen.

Gosh I can't wait to get my round nesties. That would have just given this card the punch that it needed.

Hope you enjoyed this card
