Merry Indeed

Tis the season for Christmas cards, songs of Merriment at the mall and Santa. The weather has turned here in Alberta from Fall to Winter and I'm starting to think of all that wonderful Scandinavian faire we'll have in a short 6 weeks. YUMMO!!!

Hey there everyone,I'm here today with my first post as a design team member for Creative Charms. I've been using these wonderful embellishments for a while and I'm so blessed to be a part of this team.(thanks True for the push)

Today I'm sharing with you a card I created using some scrumptious goodies from the November Deal of the Month. This deal is filled with 138 pieces of Holiday Cheer, and for this self acclaimed magpie, it is simply perfect. First off, I created the card using Graphic 45 papers, Helmar adhesive(450 Quick Dry, Liquid Scrapdots, Zapdots),  and some great ribbon from the kit.

To get it to match perfectly to the papers, I inked the ribbon a smidge with Tea Dye distress ink and a spritz of Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist. Perfect indeed. Then I finished the merry little card off with a few of the red Vintage brads and a great sentiment from the Christmas Twinkle Stickers

What a perfect match those Vintage Brads are to Graphic 45 papers. Now I also wanted to show you a creation I did a while back, a little Christmas Tree decked out in Nikki Sivils papers, buttons and Vintage Poppies. Just a little extra something for you today...

Well, that is all for me today. Here at least... I also have posts up on the Tattered Angels Blog and the Helmar blog too. Busy busy busy. If you stop by both and leave me a comment, 1 lucky person will get a Christmas treat of goodies from me.

Now off to dream of toyland...

Vintage cards

My goodness, almost a week has past without a blog post. Not acceptable Erika!!! How are all of you today? It is raining yet again and today is a crafting day so I'm over the moon excited about that. Wondering if my muse will take me to the land of paints and mixed media or cards and layouts. Time will tell right?

Today I've got a few cards to share with you that I've created using stamps from Scrolls Work. I had the opportunity to be a guest designer for this wonderful company and wanted to share with you the cards I created.

First a beautiful vignette card where I used a spellbinders die to create the look. I adore this stamp and know that I will use it often. The ribbon is a beautiful Shimmer Satin in Silver available at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Next a beautiful card using the stamp Abigail and my favorite Graphic 45 papers Steampunk Debutante. I first used a harlequin background stamp and masked in the face image. Then stamped the face with Versafine in brown. Love how this one turned out.

So if you are a stamper and love working with beautiful images, take a look at Scrolls Work. Unfortunately they are closing their doors, but there is a 60% savings on ALL stamps right now.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

PS- I've got another 4 projects to share over on the Tattered Angels blog today, so hop on by and say hello.

Save the Date and a little giveaway...

Wedding season is upon us and I so adore the color palettes that are trending for this season. Honeysuckle and Teal with a splash of green is a favorite of mine and today I'm sharing with you a card I created for Sparkle N Sprinkle for May. The Today's Wedding stamp set is so sweet. With it's perfect sentiments and whimsical swirls, I just had to create a Save the Date card. For this card I used the Midnight Madness Embossing Powder as well as the Shell Pink Glitter. I love how these look with the Once upon a Springtime papers from Graphic 45. A few Maya Road stickpins to finish this card and VOILA!!!! A sweet springtime Wedding card.

Aren't those colors perfect for a whimsical wedding? Today I'm doing a little giveaway. Tell me the favorite thing about your wedding to win a few wonderful jars of Sparkle N Sprinkle Glitter.

My favorite moment of our wedding was seeing the love in my husbands eyes as he said his vows. That look melted my heart to the core. I love you sweetheart!!!

Graphic 45 I ADORE You!!!

Don't you just love products that inspire you? Papers that melt your creative heart every time you use them? Embellishments that you just can't get enough of?

Graphic 45 is one of those manufacturers that I fall in love with more every time they release something new. Have you seen the new collections they came out with this CHA? Le Cirque brings out the child in me, Once Upon a Springtime is perfect for this fairy fan and Curtain Call oh sweet Curtain Call...I think I need to decorate my crafty space in Curtain Call goodness!!!

So when I saw that Graphic 45 is having their Design Team Call, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity. This stuff is truly some of the most inspiring crafty goodness out there and for this fussy cutting junkie, it is the perfect fit!!!

So here is a collection of my Graphic 45 projects that I'm submitting for the Design Team Call. I hope you enjoy them and they inspire you as well. Here we go, on what I hope is the beginning of my Graphic 45 adventure...

The first layout is my favorite Graphic 45 project to date and since it is BRAND SPANKIN NEW, I wanted to put it first. Keep your eyes open, for there are a few more below that are new too.

Now for the patience to kick in. Crossing fingers, toes and wishing once, twice, three times upon a Springtime. Think it'll happen? Let's hope so

Until next time

A Little Graphic 45 Goodness to Share

Yup, I've said it before, and I'm going to say it again...I LOVE Graphic 45 papers!!! The colors are all so beautiful and I think they truly are one of a kind. Today I'm sharing with you a few projects I created using my favorite "Steampunk Debutante" collection.

The first is a layout sharing a very special moment that happens every Christmas. I create something for my loving husband and halfway through the night, I sit down with him so he can open it. It is like everything else just melts away and we are there, just the two of us.

Next this super simple card using some pieces that I fussy cut for added dimension and design. So love these colors!!!

And lastly a favorite card of mine for 2010. That image of the girl with the gear hair is simply stunning. I cant wait to get my hands on the new Once Upon a Springtime collection. YUMMO!!!

heArt of Scrapbooking Design Team Projects

Hello everyone and Happy Wednesday to all of you. Half way through the week and I'm hoping tonight at weigh in, the scale is going to smile up at me. I can't believe I'm over half way to my weight loss goals. I started Weight Watchers at 228 Lbs, many that know me wouldn't have known it, thanks to being tall I suppose. Now I'm down to 189lbs, that is 39 pounds. HOLY TOLEDO!!!! So I'm hoping to be well over that lost 40 pounds mark tonight. Wish me luck

I've got a few projects to share today with you, that I created for my first projects over at Debby's Dare. You can see the instructions for each of these there.

This first one was a challenge from Debby herself. I was to make a layout using ONLY cardstock. ACK!!!! I so love love love this photo of our daughter and I'm beyond pleased with how it turned out.

Love my Slice, without it I wouldn't have those purdy flowers or scrolls on the layout. What do you think?

Next is my Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante Canvas. I'm so in love with this paper collection and I'm so grateful to Debby, for allowing me the opportunity to create with it.

This one simply moves me and I love the little details on the jewelry, watch face and a few other pieces that a little dab of glue created. I'm a huge fan of fussy cutting, and this paper begged me to do it. See all those beautiful layers? That dimension? All done by our friendly product called Heaven in a Tube. Yes that's right Liquid Scrap Dots. Now you can really see this stuff at its finest.

Can you say YUMMILICIOUS!!!! I sure can. I'm tellin ya, if you like giving your projects dimension, this is the stuff you need. A little Crochet Lace trim from Really Reasonable Ribbon, to round out the project, and up on my wall it went.

Again, if you'd like to see directions on how either of these projects were done, head on over to Debby's Dare to check them out. Let her know that Erika sent you.

Until next time

A Little Halloween Goodness

Hello Everyone and welcome to Tuesday. We went across the border on Sunday for regular grocery shopping and a few new clothes for the kids. On our way back, a 2 hour drive from where we went (roughly), we ran into a small problem. The border hours had changed and we were stuck in the US. Never fear a mini vacation was upon us. Too funny I think. The children got their first Hotel experience and loved it.

Now we are back and I'm enjoying some serious creating.

Today I've got a few projects to share with you, that I created for my Design Team spot at Frantic Stamper. This store truly has everything you could possibly need. Gotta love that. Check out the Frantic Stamper blog to see a bunch of great projects. Lots of Halloween goodies on the blog right now.

I'm sharing a few halloween cards to go with the Birdhouse I did a while back. Hope you enjoy

Both cards use the Hallowe'en in Wonderland collection by Graphic 45. Yum Yum YUM!!!!

A little My Minds Eye on the second one. I so love the flocking in the Haunted Collection

Hope you are enjoying your Tuesday. If you have a moment, take a look at Tammy Tutterows Blog today. What a beautiful romantic canvas.

A House Fit For A Queen

Happy Labor day everyone. I hope you are all enjoying a little R & R today. It's overcast today so the perfect day for crafting I think. Kids are playing in the playroom, wonderful breakfast with hubby already, so I'm energized and ready to go.

I recently got my hands on some of the Hallowe'en in Wonderland collection from Graphic 45. As soon as I saw this stuff when it was sneak peeked on the Graphic 45 blog, I knew I had to get my hands on some of it. Then I saw it in person at CHA, I was sold!!!

In the Curiouser and Curiouser paper, I saw that little queen with her beak wide open and got an idea. Why not create a perfect little house for her. So this is what I came up with hehe.

I purchased the wooden birdhouse at Michaels for 1.99. Everything is adhered using Helmar Adhesives. The paper is directly adhered to the wooden house using Premium Craft glue. The flowers with 450 Quick Dry and the characters with Liquid Scrapdots.

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!!! As she points to Alice, the trumpet blared...

That Cheshire Cat looks on, perched in his tree, smiling down ...

Am I late for the event, the White Rabbit wonders...

Alice runs to hide and stumbles upon that Mad Hatter.

Dun Dunda DA!!!! The Queen in her Squawk Box. I love how the Liquid Scrap Dots from Helmar really gave me the ability to layer the characters with serious dimension.  You can get some of this magic in a tube at Really Reasonable Ribbon. Hope you enjoy.

Take care and we'll see you soon

PS- I've entered this into the Gingersnap Creations 3d Redhead challenge. If you want a great challenge site, take a peek.
