Find me on Folksy

Evening everyone. First of all you may have noticed that I've haven't blogged recently. A week and a bit ago a member of my family fell seriously ill so we've been pretty much focused on his recovery. He seems to be on the mend now and hopefully soon they will decide if he can go home. It's been a tiring week.

So apart from this, here's what's been happening. I've been creating lots of items that I hope to list in the next few days. A few cuffs are in the pipeline as well as some more small earrings. Yesterday I did my first craft fair of the year. We didn't get that many people coming through the doors but I got lots of lovely comments about my tatted jewellery.

That's not all. I've listed a new item on Etsy. This gothic bracelet uses the same pattern as my Alexandra earrings (I shall tat the black pair soon). This looks very victorian to me.

It was fun to see it all come together, especially when the Swarovski Crystals were sewn into the base of each section. What do you think?

This leads nicely on to my final point. You can now find me on the UK site Folksy.

I've been thinking about selling on here for quite a while but I've finally taken the plunge. It's so nice to be able to list things in my own currency! Don't worry, I won't be running away from Etsy. I'll update you all tomorrow with some more listings. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Busy, busy, busy

Afternoon. It's been a busy week. I was asked to create a gothic bracelet for a wedding. I already had an idea of what I wanted to do. It was just a case of tatting it up to see if it worked. After a few times of redoing sections I finally got to a point where I was happy with the pattern. I'm really pleased with this so I shall be listing it this evening for anyone to buy.

I also finished and listed a simple yet elegant red tatted bracelet over on Etsy:

This uses the same design as the lilac bracelet but I chose not to include the seed beads. This would look lovely with a Medieval or Renaissance outfit.

I'm thinking about doing something special on Monday. Watch this space!

I've finally listed my first set

Afternoon. It's lovely and sunny outside. I've had quite a productive week and have listed a couple of items over on Etsy.

The first is the Lillian necklace. This matches my bracelet and earrings of the same name. It's taken me a while to come to this final design. I first tried with just the central section but it looked too small for a necklace. I then tried three sections of the same size but this didn't work either. I've finally settled on a large central section with two smaller sides. Each part has seed beads and Swarovski Crystals hanging down. This my first time trying a design where three split rings are used to attach it to the ribbon and I really like it. I might try more like this in the future. As you can see in the picture below it hangs really well.

This would look gorgeous with a sparlky evening dress. I've also decided to list this as a set with my earrings and bracelet. These items can also be tatted in other colours.

I've also created a set without the earrings for those of you without your ears pierced.

At the moment I'm working on a tatted cuff. I shall talk about this soon.

Tatting in lilac and new treasuries

Good afternoon. A few things to talk about today.

New in Etsy shop

I listed my first lilac item yesterday. I really love how it has turned out. It looks so elegant. I used half the motif from my Nimue pattern and then tatted 105 silver seed beeds into the design. What do you think? Click here for the item.

This bracelet really catches the light and would go well with a sparkly evening dress. I hope to list the matching earrngs soon. I will try out a necklace too.

At the moment I'm working on a red necklace but I shall say more about that in a later blog post.

Treasuries

I found I was in two gorgeous treasuries yesterday. The first one, from knittedlove, is entitled 'Red Lovers BRITANNIA' and includes my custom fit Elizabeth bracelet. Click here for the link (ends Sunday).

The second comes from AREjewellery. It is called 'Colour me in!' and includes my Isabella bridal pendant. Click here (ends Sunday).

More items coming soon in my shop. Keep your eyes peeled!

Milestones and choker sneak peek

First of all I'd like to say that I've reached two milestones. Over the weekend I reached 80 followers on here and 500 fans on my Facebook fan page. Thank you very much. It's lovely to know people are interested in my work.

Next I'd like to give you a sneak peek of my choker. This picture shows where I am at the moment. I've attached the tatting to a ribbon which gives it a nice smooth back. What do you think? This is far from done but I love how it looks so far.

I'm also currently working on a lilac bracelet with silver seed beads. Hopefully I shall have some photos to show you soon.

Black and red

Hello. I've got a few things to talk about today. First of all, I listed another item in my Etsy shop yesterday. Similar in size to Elizabeth Royale, this one uses my Eleanor pattern. I decided to tat four together and this was the result. I've named it Eleanor Royale. What do you think? Click here for the listing.

I really love how it's turned out. It feels so Medieval. This would look great in other colours too.

I received some beads yesterday so I've been trying out some new patterns using them. One of these looked good on paper but in practice it's not working. I'll have to figure out a way round my problem.

Do you love treasuries? I certainly do. Especially when I've been included. Thank you very much to Tiffany of Room3designs for including my custom fit Elizabeth bracelet. Click here for the link to the treasury.

I shall have to finish my top films of 2009 post at some point. I had planned to do it over the weekend but other things came up. I'll blog more tomorrow.

New gothic bracelet

Good evening. I've listed the gothic bracelet I have been working on for the past few days. I used forty black seed beads in this design and I thnk it looks really effective. I wanted another medieval-type name so I went for Nimue (who is part of the Arthurian legend). Here it is:

I might be tatting this in other colours as well, you shall have to wait and see!

I may be able to list some more items tomorrow, but I'm not sure yet. If I don't then I shall wish you a lovely Sunday.

A small update

Hello. I've had a semi-productive day today. I've been continuing on with my seed bead project. It's getting there but I still have lots to do. I had intended to list my new bracelet but, with the weather being what it is at the moment, it was almost impossible to get good photos. We shall try again tomorrow.

That's pretty much it for today. I shall blog when I list the new bracelet.

Seed beads and gothic reds

Good evening. I've been shopping today and have bought some gorgeous silver lined seed beads. They are perfect for my tatting and I have already started incorperating them into one of my designs. It looks great at the moment and I may show you a sneaky peek tomorrow.

Speaking of seed beads, I've finished off the bracelet I mentioned yesterday. I hope to list it soon. I really like this pattern and might do it in different colours. I'll blog when it is up.

I was so busy last night I forgot to mention that I had bagged a treasury. It ends tomorrow morning. This one is entitled 'Gothic Reds'. When I do a treasury, the theme seems to nearly always be gothic. I really do love dark elegant items. It's difficult to explain why but I suppose it's in my nature. It's part of who I am. Anyway have a look at these fantastic Etsians. Here's a screen grab of it.

Blog more soon.

It's all about the bracelets!

Good evening. I seem to be in a bracelet phase at the moment! I've listed the light blue and white version of my Katarina pattern on Etsy. Here is is:

I love this design. It's so simple yet effective and looks great in different colours. I might do a black version next to match the black pendant.

Today has also been spent finishing off a gothic bracelet. I have used quite a few seed beads in this design. It took ages to tat up but it was fun to do and I love the result. I shall photograph it tomorrow and have it listed by Friday.

That's all for today, blog more tomorrow.

New items in shop and a Treasury

Good evening. I've had a very busy weekend. I listed another bracelet on Etsy yesterday. Recently on Flickr, I showed a prototype of a bracelet I was working on. It is the same design as my Christina pendant. I finished my own version and then made a larger version to sell. Here it is. It reminds me of filigree metalwork.

This item required a lot of patience to make but it looks great when it's finished. The ready-made version is 6 1/4 inches long and includes an extention chain that adds a further 5 cm to the length. I have also listed a custom fit version.

Today I have been working on two bracelets. These use the design of my Katarina pendant. One is complete and shall be listed tomorrow. The other one I am two thirds of the way through and shall be listed on Wednesday.

I have been included in a treasury. Margaret aka MissElany has created one featuring UK people. Check it out (it's open till Wednesday).

I shall blog more tomorrow.
