Allá donde se cruzan los caminos

Now the crossroads is a site with universal spooky impications. To the religious imagination it can appear not as a random juncture of paths but as a place where roads purposely converge: in Egyptian such an intersection is basic to the concept of 'city', of which the glyph, neywet, shows a crossroads. This may explain the weird feeling associated with a desolate crossroads far from any town — it's like a city center without a city, roads converging on Nowhere, or perhaps on the Invisible.
