Kaboodle Doodles Sketch Challenge

I'm late in posting this cos life is getting in the way of crafting again lol. This time most of it is good though, we had a lovely weekend in Kent with our son Craig, his partner Zoe & 2 gorgeous grandchildren Ryan & Abigail. Work is still pants unfortunately but I'm still (just) managing not to let it get to me. The plan to fit more crafting in hasn't actually materialised yet lol

The Kaboodle Doodles challenge this week is a fab sketch by Andrea. I used the Kaboodle Doodles All Star & Skulls kits, the image was coloured in with Twinking H2os & finished off with brads & ribbon. The photo is rubbish again, I think I'll have to get someone else to take my photos I'm obviously too shakey lol!

Vintage Kaboodle Doodles

This week's Kaboodle Doodles challenge is "Vintage". KD have some gorgeous papers that really lend themselves to this. I used papers from their "Old" & "Green" kits. The stamp is one of my favourites which I got from an American website & it's by Great Impressions but there is no name. I lightly watercoloured parts of the image & added chalk to others. The peel-off butterfly was stuck on to velum & cut out & I didn't stick the wings down to give a bit of dimension. The card was finished off with a shrink plastic butterfly & a small tag with brad.

I'm really gonna try & do more crafting/blogging in future as it makes me happy/relaxed but work has been soo busy I've been too tired and that's when I really need it lol.

Hooray It's Saturday!

Well it's Saturday :o) but where has the day gone? It's been quite nice weather though which is always a bonus. The day has been a mixture of shopping, housework & crafting (you can guess which was the most enjoyable lol).

This card was made using the Mojo Monday sketch, it's the first time I've used one of their sketches (I think) & I used the gorgeous new Kaboodle Doodles "Morris Dance" papers which I love. I also cut out flowers from the papers as embellishments & added a bit of Glamour Dust to the centres. The image is one of the new Wiff of Joy images which I coloured with Distress inks, it's the first time I've done this & I really like the look so think I will be using them lots more.

Kaboodle Doodles Sketch Challenge

Wow those 2 weeks went past really quickly. There is a sketch challenge on Kaboodle Doodles this week by Andrea (the Gaffer). I had great fun making this card - the fact it's got cupcakes & ice cream sundaes on probably had a lot to do with it lol. I used papers from the Kaboodle Doodles "Party Picnic" & "Pink & Blue" kits. The image is from Pink Petticoats new download "Sweet Sundaes" which I coloured in with Prismacolor pencils & added Glamour Dust to. I used my Martha Stewart Lace punch to make a border & added a sentiment & another lil cupcake from the paper. I really like this card but I'm not sure about the stamped flourish.

Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Relaunch Today!

The Kaboodle Doodles challenge blog has been revamped & is looking fab. There will be a new challenge every 2 weeks & lots of lovely candy up for grabs.

This week's challenge is a nice easy one to begin with the theme of "Love". My card was made using the Kaboodle Doodles new "Scribble" papers which are perfect for Valentines (& Anniversary & any other time when you need to send a bit of lovin'). I used a cute Rachelle Anne Miller stamped image & added some crocheted flowers, a charm & some gems to finish off with.

It's perfect crafting weather today lol (just starting to snow) so I shall just stay in cutting & colouring etc. Ooh dear just remembered the ironing is still waiting to be done ;o)

Kaboodle Doodles Embossing Challenge

This was a bit of a rush this week (infact it is a rush every week recently). But I was pleased I got my Cuttlebug embossing folder (Swiss Dots) to work on my old faithful Zip-e-Mate at last lol.

As you can see from the title of this post the Kaboodle Doodles challenge this week is "Embossing" & I did the bit of embossing for the backing with the embossing folder & used the Kaboodle Doodle Blue paper kit (stamped with stars). This image has got to be my favourite Christmas stamp which I got on ebay, it is by Stampendous! & is called "The Nativity Cast". I coloured it in with Twinkling H2os & added glitter glue, sticky ribbon, gems, flowers, brad & a peel off greeting.

Kaboodle Doodles Scallops Challenge

I'm glad to be able to do the Kaboodle Doodles challenge this week as I missed it last week. The challenge is "Scallops" & as I'm waiting for Santa to bring me a scallop border punch I had to use a shaped ruler & cut them out by hand & the result is not that fab, the papers are though: from the new Kaboodle Doodles Contemporary Christmas kit. The snowflakes are recycled from an old Christmas card (when I got the decorations down from the loft I couldn't believe how many old cards I had kept so I thought I'd better start recycling lol). I finished off with braid, confetti & a greeting.

Why not check the blog out the other DT cards are gorgeous :o)

NB. I have since the photo was taken added some silver glittery snowflakes which balance the card out better so I like it slightly more than I did lol.

Blue Christmas

Today is a new challenge at Kaboodle Doodles & this week it is "Monochrome". I chose to do shades of blue. I used the Kaboodle Doodles "Blue Paper Kit" which I stamped some snowflakes on to. I used one of my fav snowman stamps & paper pieced his scarf & hat band. The ribbon & tag are from Trimcraft & I finished it off with rub-on words & a glittery snowflake (which was free with a magazine).

Kaboodle Doodles Bright Christmas

The Kaboodle Doodles challenge this week is "Christmas Brights". This card was made using their fab new Christmas kit. I treated myself to some new Elzybells Christmas stamps which are gorgeous & added greeting, flowers & a snowflake.

I forgot the add the glitter glue before I scanned the the card but she is all glittery now :o)

I haven't had any time for crafting this week & it's looking like next week will be the same but I am going to try hard to fit some in lol :o)

Halloween Treats

This is the box I made for Kaboodle Doodles challenge this week (which is Halloween & there is a free download for you to use).

I love making these Origami boxes - the instructions are here in case you want to have a go. I didn't have much candy in the house so I had to open a couple of packets of Maltesers lol (I've always got chocolate ;o) ).
Sorry about the rubbish photo, it's the first time I've used hubby's phone.

Rock 'n' Roll

Well it's week 8 of the Kaboodle Doodles challenge (where has the time gone?) & this week was very challenging for me lol (it would have been easier if I'd realised that you didn't have to make a Rock n Roll card it could also be your favourite song title).

Anyway in the end I used Kaboodle Doodles Boys Skulls & All Star kits added some clip art images, glitter star brads & a stamped Juke Box.

Kaboodle Doodles - Tags Challenge

The theme on Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Blog this week is "Tags".

I made my tag with the Kaboodle Doodles Green & Party Picnic kits. I added a cute squirel stamped image (I got it on e-bay ages ago &I've no idea who it's by but I do love it), some organza ribbon & a chipboard greeting. I'm going to have to put it on a card I think though as I don't know what else to do with it lol.

House Mouse meets Secret Crafter

Still struggling a bit & I don't really like this card. But the sun is shinning & I've got the day off work so hopefully I can get a bit of crafting done (in between the chores lol).

I made this card using the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge sketch, it's their first week so I really wanted to try to enter :o). The theme of the House Mouse challenge this week is "Halloween, or Halloween colours". As i haven't got any Halloween House Mouse stamps I opted for Halloween colours & used the new Halloween kit from Kaboodle Doodles. The stamp is called "Chocolate Heart" (I coloured the wrapper purple to go with the papers & cos it is the colour of my fav chocolate's wrapper lol) I also used a brad, eyelets, ribbon, primas, gems & Stampin Up! Rivin' greeting stamp.

Apple Card

I've not had much time for crafting this week as work has been soo busy & I had to work today 8.00 - 1.30 cos we had Flu clinics. I did manage to make my DT card for tomorrows Kaboodle Doodles challenge but only just lol....

And I made this is a strange card lol. I found a lil challenge on Jen's blog "Torn Paper" to make a card with an apple theme (well at least to have an apple/s on your card lol). So I used my papers/elements from Nitwit Collections can't remember the name it's something like "on the farm". I got a huge pile of chipboard embellishements from QVC for my birthday & used the apple from these. The stamped greeting is from Cuddly Buddly.

Kaboodle Doodles Challenge & Free Download :-)

The Kaboodle Doodles challenge is nice & easy this week - to use the free download & create anything you like with it. For some strange reason I made a Christmas card lol - what is it with me & Christmas cards at the moment?

I love this paper & cut a scalloped edge & combined it with paper from Kaboodle Doodles "Green" paper kit. I used a bauble topper from the lovely Kath (by Crafty Bitz I think) used my fav HOTP press swirly stamp & finished off with ribbon, gems & a stamped & embossed greeting.

Kaboodle Doodles 4th Challenge

I can't believe it is Kaboodle Doodles 4th challenge this week & it is a bit of a tough one - to use "Non Traditional Embellishments" I must admit I did struggle for ideas at first but once I got crafting I really enjoyed making this card. So if you like a bit of a challenge pop over to the Kaboodle Doodles blog & have a go. There is a fab prize for the winner (chosen at random) - choice of one of the great downloads from the Kaboodle Doodles shop.

My card was made using the Kaboodle Doodles Boys Skulls & Green paper kits. I stamped both images on to magazine pages, added a little sparkle to the butterfly wings with a Sakura pen, tied some string with beads attached around the image & finshed off with a bottle top with a picture of a keyhole & gems beads & a shrink plastic flower in topped with crystal glaze.

I have a few birthday cards to make for friends & family so am trying to be quick(ish). This card was also for the My Time to Craft challenge which is "Bright & Bold". This stamped image is from my dear friend Linda who also sent me a gorgeous handmade folder filled with images which came in the post today & really made my day. The paper & lil tag are from Kaboodle Doodles "Mini Girl Card Kit", the stamped greeting is by Cuddly Buddly. I finished it off with some brads.
