Domino Art...

Helloo sorry I've been AWOL but we had family visiting for Easter which was wonderful :D & I had lots of sorting out to do (& moving of craft stuff lol).  I hope you all had a fab Easter & Spring is springing where you are.  On to this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge which for the first time in it's history (I believe) is "No Sentiment" lol.  Our sponsor is Fairy Tangle Art & I used their "Hoot Owl" digital image.  I wanted to do something different so I printed the image the size of a domino (hence the title), coloured it with chalks & stuck it to mount board.  I inked the edges with Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink & triple embossed it - it was great fun, it's been ages since I had the heat gun out :o)  The hole was punched with my Cropodile & I used 2 gold jump rings to attach it to the chain.  As the challenge is nice & easy this week I really hope you can join us.

The challenges:
ABC - G = Go Digital
Art by Miran - Anything Goes
Chalk N Stock - Use Chalk
Deep Ocean Challenge - Things with Wings
Creative Moments - Anything Goes/Anything but a Card
Sassy Studio Designs - No Cards Allowed
Simply Papercraft - Freestyle/Steampunk

Thanks for looking & Happy Sunday! xx

A Bit of Shrink Plastic...

I haven't had much time for crafting lately & things were starting to get on top of me a bit but I wanted to make something for this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge & I wanted it to be different but it also had to be quick - well this was the plan!  I spent hours yesterday fiddling about with shrink plastic, first it was the wrong dimensions (though in the end I had to go with this one), then it just didn't look right & finally when I thought I was nearly there the Modge podge was too thick & made all the ink run :o(  So I went back to the first attempt though it wasn't quite right - (the image was printed onto printable shrink plastic),  I coloured it with pencils, stamped on the back & punched a hole for the jump ring (this is done before shrinking). Then I covered it with Modge Podge & added a sprinkling of Glamour Dust.  Our challenge is "Add a Doodle to it" & we are sponsored by the wonderful Scribbles Designs & I used Flower Doodle 6.  I hope you can find time to join us.  Happy Mother's Day to all those who are celebrating today :o)  I'm spending the morning with youngest son & then at the MIL for dinner tonight.

The challenges:
Craft My Life - Anything But a Card
CMC - Sparkle It
My Sheri - Anything But a Card

A Little Bird Told Me...

It's Friday so that means new releases & a new challenge at Jellypark Friends :D  This week there are 2 new releases: Squirrel I'm Nuts About You & Little Bird.  I wanted to make something different (& indulge my other passion: jewellery making), so I used (printable) shrink plastic & made some earrings & a bag charm using the Little Bird image.  I printed the image twice (flipping one to get a mirror image), coloured with pencils, cut around them both leaving a couple of mm border & then punched a hole in the top.  Once shrunk (using my heat gun) I attached each one to a jump ring, added some beads to an eye pin & joined together & attached all to an earring wire.  Then I made a bag charm too attaching beads & charms to a blank key chain.  The challenge is World Gratitude Day/Thanks if you would like to join us :D

The challenges:
Lexi's Creations - Make a Gift - Anything But a Card
Creative Craft - Anything Goes
Fab 'n' Funky - Things With Wings
Allsorts - Purple Passion
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Crafting for all Seasons - Things With Wings

Roll on 5 o'clock when the weekend can begin :)

Celebrate National Craft Month with Jellypark!

March is National Craft Month & this week's Jellypark Friends challenge is to use your favourite craft product or technique :D  There are 2 fabulous new releases today & I used "Teacup".  I wanted to do something a bit different so I made a shrink plastic charm (I printed the digital image onto printable shrink plastic, coloured it with pencils, cut it out, shrank it with my heat gun & added some Glossy Accents).  I made a bag charm with some beads & a teapot charm & added the teacup charm too.  I don't know about you but a nice strong cuppa (preferably with some chocolate or cake) is one of my favourite things :D  The design team have been working their socks off so there's lots of inspiration for you if you need any (& if you don't why not show them some love anyway, they sure would appreciate it).

Monday Wotnots at Paper Pretties

Every Monday there are new digital images released at Paper Pretties & this week they are "Pasha Panda" & "Beatrice Butterfly".  As you can see I used Beatrice Butterfly & I printed her twice  (flipping 1 of the images so they would fit together) onto DP, sprayed with "Spray & Shine" stuck the 2 images together with some pearl headed stamens for antennas, threaded some beads onto elastic & made a little bracelet.  Don't you just love digital images cos you can re-size them, flip them & do some many different techniques with them :)

Sentimental Sundays Challenge & One for the Kiddies too

This week the Sentimental Sundays challenge is "Mother's Day or For a Woman" & we also have an optional extra fun challenge for the children :)  As here in the UK we've already celebrated Mother's Day I have made a girly card.  I used a rubber stamp I've had for ages & paper pieced it, stitched some lace around the bottom & added some ribbon.  The greeting & papers are all from Craftwork Cards & I finished off with some flowers.  Don't forget the free sentiments every week & I hope you & your children (family member or otherwise lol) we be able to join us this week.

The challenges:
Totally Gorjuss - 1,2,3 (1 image, 2 papers & 3 flowers)
Miami Doodles - Let's Get Girly
Paper Cutz - Anything Goes
Crafts 4 Eternity - Anything Goes
Just Add Ink - Just Add a Flower
Scrap Creations - Flowers
Ladybug - Fashion

I thought I'd share this jewellery set I made with you too (I'm starting another blog for my jewellery but it's hard finding time for this blog let alone another one).  We had a wedding reception last night & I made this to wear (I also made a wire wrapped ring after I'd took the photo) & for a first attempt I was really pleased with it (& it didn't fall to pieces while I was wearing it!).

A Few Things to Show & Tell...

The first is as I said in my previous post I went to the Stitch & Craft Show at Olympia in London with my friend Duang & had a fabulous time, the only problem was it took us over 5 hours to get there! It was really hot on the coach with the sun pouring through the windows & very bumpy lol - I can't tell you how glad I was to get there.  There were 3 levels with knitting on the lower floor, sewing & jewellery making on the ground floor & papercrafting on the top floor.  I brought a few bits & pieces & the highlight of the day was doing the jewellery workshop (I have just started to dabble in jewellery making so it was nice to get some hints & tips :o)  (you can see the necklace I made below).  4 1/2 hours on the coach to get back home & I was shattered.

Secondly it's new digi releases at Paper Pretties on Mondays & today I've made a bookmark using this fun Easter image called "A Basket For You".  I coloured it with ProMarkers as usual, added a stamped Easter egg, Glamour Dust & the papers I used (which I printed on both sides) were a free download from Printable Heaven & I finished off with Ribbon & some staples.

I'm entering my bookmark for these challenges:
Stamp Something - Something Sweet
Crafty Calender - Spring
Aly's - Happy Spring
Secret Crafter - Anything But a Card
Polka Doodles - All About Books
I Did It - Spring
Stampin with the Dragon - Bring on Spring
2 Sisters - Furry Friends

& last by no means least Gerda at StampFairy has another new release today too called "Lenny Cupcakes" which are really cute & yummy :o)

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend & have a great week :o) I'm off to work now but luckily only until 2.00 pm (which IS good as I'm still catching up from the weekend lol.

Not a Card & a Bit of Shrink Plastic...

It's Friday so there are new releases at StampFairy & this week it is Linda Fairy & there is also a fabulous freebie circle sentiment.  I love fairies & as one of my New Year's resolutions was to make some jewellery I thought I'd make a key-chain.  I printed the image on to printable shrink plastic. coloured it with pencils, cut it out & punched a hole for the jump ring to attach it to the chain; then heated it with a heat gun - et voila! so to speak lol.  I threaded various beads on to eye pins & attached to the chain finishing off with a Love charm.  There are some gorgeous cards from the DT for lots more inspiration :)

The challenges:
City Crafter - All You Need Is Love
The Shabby Tea Room - No Patterned Paper & Handmade Embellishment
Sir Stampalot - All Creatures Great & Small
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Anything Goes

Thank goodness it's Friday, hope you've all had a great week & have an even better weekend!

Stampin' for the Weekend - Anything Goes! AKA a Bit of Triple Embossing :)

Nice & easy challenge this week at Stampin' for the Weekend - "Anything Goes".  Our sponsor this time is Sir Stampalot & there will be a fab prize for the winner :)

I wanted to make something different so made a pendant.  I cut a rectangle of thick cardboard & coloured it with raisin & currant coloured inks by Adirondack (Tim Holtz).  I inked it with a clear embossing pad & added ultra think embossing power, heated with at heat gun & repeated this 3 (might have been more actually) times & then while it was still hot stamped it with a butterfly stamp inked with Brillance ink in Platinum Planet (the edges of the pendant were also inked with this).  I added 3 gems for the finishing touch.

I'm entering this Pendant for these challenges:
Sir Stampalot - Bring on the Bling
Simon Says - Make a Gift
Digi Doodle - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Butterflies

For Fun - Patriotic Pride

I must admit when I saw "Patriotic Pride" on the For Fun challenge list I wasn't looking forward to it as I didn't know what sort of card to make apart from an England football one which I didn't fancy - then I had the idea of making a shrink plastic English flag pendant.  (The idea was that if England beat Germany on Sunday I would wear it to work on Monday & as you know that didn't happen lol).  I coloured the red cross with ProMarkers & punched a hole, shrank the plastic then covered the white parts with Glamour Dust & stuck a  heart gem in the centre for good measure.  I'm entering this into the Crazy Challenge which this week is "Make it in an Hour" (which I did easily though this is my 3rd attempt as the other 2 weren't quite right lol).

Sorry for the rubbish photos, you can't really see the sparkle at all. I have so much to do today & Wednesday is usually my day off but I have to work this afternoon til 6.30 so I'm trying to cram everything into this morn - time for a tea break though I think ;)

SFTW - Post Pals Challenge

At Stampin' for the Weekend this fortnight my fellow Teamie Amy has set the challenge to make a card/project to make someone smile or cheer them up with the option of sending it to one of the children on the Post Pals website. I made my card for Ruby J but any of the children would love to receive a handmade card in the post. We are sponsored this time by WOJ with the chance to win 2 gorgeous stamps from their "Happy Mail" collection PLUS... the winner will be able to choose a THIRD stamp of THEIR CHOICE from ANY of the collections! (subject to being in stock obviously). We also welcome 2 new DT members Annika & Joanne so I'm looking forward to working with them & seeing their fab creations too & 2 guest designers Victoria & Heidi (ditto lol).

For my card I used papers from Designer Digitals, Fairy Doodle stamped image coloured with ProMarkers & Glamour Dust, sticky lace border, ribbon, flowers, brad, butterflies & ticket (which has been chalked) & a punched lattice heart.

I'm entering this card for 6 challenges:
Creative Inspirations - Punches or Die Cuts
Creative Inspirations - Card for a Child
Digi Doodle - Sparkle, Glitter, Glitz
Passion for ProMarkers - Fantasy/Mythology
Pollycraft - Summer Blooms
Crafting Life's Pieces - Sketch

I've also made Ruby 2 little stretchy beaded bracelets which I hope she'll like (my granddaughter is 2 & she loves them).

Not a Card!

I've been wanting to dabble in jewellery making for a while now. I made this bracelet & earrings & thought they were ok but nothing special. I showed them to my Kaboodle Doodles DT pal Steph & she said she liked them & I should enter them in the Crafty Creations (formally known as SBS 18) challenge this week which is Autumn (cos they are autumnal colours) so thats what I'm doing lol. I've bought a few more beads & bits & pieces so hopefully will be able to make a few more pieces :o)
