Get Well Mousey

Sunday AGAIN oh my goodness can't believe it.  Today is a very special day cos it's my wonderful hubby Mark's birthday :o)  He's out playing footy this morning so I've had time to catch up with a bit of crafting which includes finishing my card for this week's Sentimental Sundays challenge which is "Animal Love" (+ a sentiment) & our sponsor is The Doodle Garden.  I came across "Dearie Dolls" free digi stamps while browsing online and thought this image was cute (& it was coloured which I needed due to lack of time - I just added rosie cheeks).  The papers are various from my stash & I added some Liquid Embossing to the balloon & finished the card with a crochet flower, button, sentiment & pearl.  I hope you can join us!

The challenges:
Love to Scrap - Anything Goes
Oh La La - Lots of Layers (at least 5)
The Crafter's Cafe - Animal Antics
Crafty Creations - Seeing Spots
Di's Digi Designs - Include an Animal
Crafty Calendar - Add a Sentiment
Suzi Bee's - Anything Goes with a Twist...use a Die or Punch (punched border)
Dragon's Lair - Add an Animal

Enjoy the rest of the day whatever you're up to - we're at the Inlaws for a birthday meal later :o) (yey I haven't got to cook!) & have a great week xxx

When I Grow Up...

Well I never wanted to be a nurse (when I was a little girl I wanted to be a shoe designer, then when I was in secondary school I was going in the Navy but I met my now husband so didn't go) but I do work in a doctors surgery.   This week's challenge at Sentimental Sundays is "When I Grow Up" (+ a sentiment).  For my card I used another Jellypark image, this time "Girl in Nurse Costume" but this time I coloured it with my ProMarker blender pen & chalks & I like the naive feel it gives (well for this card at least ;o).  I kept the card simple (mainly due to time restraints but also cos I think the image is so sweet) just finishing off with a couple of flowers & pegs.  I hope you can find time to join us.

The challenges:
A Gem of a Challenge - For a Child
Freshly Brewed - Red, White & Blue
Open-Minded Crafting - Patriotic Colours
A Little Bit Crafty - Child's Play
Creative Craft Cottage - Digi/Flowers
Brown Sugar - Dots &/or Stripes
The Stamping Boutique - Card for a Child

Have a wonderful Sunday :o)

Hooray for Weekends & Week's Off!

Yes this weekend is even more special cos we're on holiday next week & are having our 3 grandchildren to stay.  Can't wait both mine & hubby's work has been so stressful lately we need some FUN :o)  So no feeling of dread tonight at the end of the weekend & Monday morning looming ever closer lol.  As it is Sunday it is time for another Sentimental Sundays challenge & this week we want to see your "Embossing" (any sort & with a sentiment please, it is Sentimental Sundays after all ;o).  We are sponsored by The Cutting Cafe & the DT were given these fab "Rain Rain Go Away" images to use. I coloured my boots with ProMarkers, used a die cut umbrella & finished off with a flower, button, gems, brads, computer generated sentiment & an embossed panel.

Emergency Crafters - Polka Dots
4 Crafty Chicks - Use Polka Dots
That's Crafty - You Spin me Right Round

Get Well with Sentimental Sundays

This week's challenge at Sentimental Sundays is (as the title suggests) "Get Well".  I made a CAS card, mainly cos of time restraints again.  I love these "Distinguished" papers from The Paper Shelter & I inked the edges with Distress Ink (Walnut Stain), I punched & border & finished off with some gems.  The greeting is from Whimsy Stamps (I think).  I have pierced some holes around the edges but you can't really see in the photo (it was going to be sewn but my sewing machine decided not to work).

The challenges:
Totally Gorjuss - Plain & Simple
Penny's - Anything Goes
Papelitos - Anything Goes
Charisma Cardz - Keep Your Cool
ATC's & Cards with Attitude - Anything Goes/Autumn/Winter
Emergency Crafters - Get Well Soon

I hope you're all having a great weekend.  I am - yesterday I was watching my wonderful hubby play his 750th game for Great Yarmouth Town FC & I was bursting with pride lol.  I'm hoping to catch up with some crafting today (hubbys playing in a cup game for the team he is manager for on Sundays).

My Last Challenge for Stampin' for the Weekend :(

It was a really hard decision but it's been difficult  keeping up with my DT commitments lately & I've started jewellery making & am just getting into sewing (with not enough hours in the day). Something had to give (& it was nearly my sanity lol) so I'm having to trim down my design teams, I didn't really want to but apart from giving up my job (which, unfortunately I can't afford to do lol) it was the only option.  I've been part of the SFTW team since 2009! OMG where have the years gone?  I will really miss it.

...Anyway on to the challenge which this time is BINGO & I used the middle line: Glitter/Sparkle, Lace & Butterflies. The cute image is from Di's Digis & coloured with ProMarkers, I used 2 border punches & inked & glitter the edges of the image & sentiment.  I did some machine stitching & finished of with punched butterflies, gems & a lace bow.  There are lots of options with this challenge so I hope you will be able to join us & check out my wonderful teamies to see what they've been creating :)

The challenges:
Challenge up Your Life - Get Well Soon
Moving Along With The Times - Lots of Layers
Digital Tuesday - Make It Sparkle
Cute Card Thursday - Winged Things
Diva's By Design - Bling It Up
Hiding in My Craft Room - Glitter! Glitter!
PaperCrafting Journey - Make It Cute

I hope you've had a wonderful week, I must admit I'm really glad it's Friday - 5 o'clock can't come soon enough lol :D

So that means it's time for the Sentimental Sundays challenge & this week it is Sewing or Stitching.  I got my sewing machine out & did some zigzag stitching on my card, the cute image is from Jellypark & called "Sitting Fairy" & coloured with ProMarkers & Glamour Dust. The papers are from The Paper Shelter (I love these papers) & I finished off with punched butterflies, flowers, gems & pearls.  The sentiment is from Raindrop Echo.

I decorated the inside as well this time.

Get Well Soon...

Julie, who is a  work colleague but is more of a friend as I have know her since our children were little, is very poorly & has been in intensive care for well over a week (sending you big hugs & lots of love Jules).  This is the card I made for everyone at work to sign for her.  The papers are from my stash & the image was free but I'm sorry I can't remember where from (I've since remembered it was from Pollycraft & it's only 66p at moment).  I coloured the cute image with ProMarkers, the papers have been machine sewn, the butterflies were made with my Martha Stewart butterfly punch & stamp & were glittered.  I finished off with lace, flowers, pearls & a computer generated greeting.

A Different Card

I've had a lovely day off today my friend came round this afternoon & we watched It's a Wonderful Life (we watch it every year now, it's become a tradition) & drank tea & ate mince pies. The trouble is as I've said (many times) before there just aren't enough hours in days off or weekends so I haven't done half of what I wanted to do but I have had a great day none-the-less :)

Anyway onto the card which different from my usual style but I do like to diversify now & again lol. This was made for my Aunty who is going through a rough time at the moment. The papers are from Designs by Krista, I used another flower design from Mel & the flowers have been coloured, glazed & glamour dusted. I finished off with a flourish stamp, ribbon & computer generated greeting.

I'm entering this card for 4 challenges:
Sketch Saturday - (can you guess lol) Sketch
ABC - Indigo Blue
Etsy Inspired - Triangle Scarf
Pile It On - Flowers & Flourishes

Get Well Popcorn

I managed to make a card tonight even though I worked 9.00 - 6.30 (don't know how though lol) but I definitely ready for bed now.

I needed a Get Well Soon card for a friends daughter. I used my Popcorn the Bear Floral CD for the backing paper & image which has been decoupaged & a little bit of Glamour Dust added to the flowers. I also used an embossing folder & finished the card off with ribbon, brads & a stamped sentiment. The sketch is from the Crafters Companion challenge.

Penny Black meets Friday Sketchers

This card was made for the Penny Black Saturday challenge (I'm early this time!) which this week is "Get Well Soon" using the Friday Sketchers sketch.

The Penny Black stamp is called "arrangement!" & the papers are from Funky Hand. I've added flowers, which were a Christmas pressie from my dear friend Linda, with brads, sticky ribbon & a greeting from Pink Petticoat.

Get Well Soon Card

Phew! Managed to fit in another card before 9 o'clock, other half tells me there's a good film on then lol :-)

This card is for the Dutch Dare challenge which this week is "Make a Get Well Card". I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday. The fab Doctor & Nurse stamps are designed by Zoe from Spiral Whisper. The papers were a free download but unfortunately I can't remember where from. I finished the card off with a stamped sentiment & a couple of fabric flowers.

Doctor & Nurse Card

I made this card using the fab lil Doctor & Nurse rubber stamps that Zoe designed, these are available from Spiral Whisper (& there are lots of other gorgeous sets too).

I used the sketch from Our Creative Corner on a tall thin card & added brads & a greeting. The gorgeous papers are from Funky Hand's "It's Funky Too" CD.
