Busy Couple of Weeks

We've been busy.  First my daughter and her husband went to Vegas for their anniversary and we watched their dog, Bear.  I thought I had a photo of him but I don't.

Both granddaughter's are going to MSU.  Ashley is starting her second year and is renting a house with 2 other girls.  Cassidy alas is a freshman and they have closed the school so she will be taking all her courses on the computer at home.

Ashley's dad, my son Patrick, had to put their dog down.  He had Lyme's Disease and developed kidney failure.  She was such a sweet dog and we will all miss her terribly.

And finally my youngest son, Michael, signed the papers on his very own house.  So there was lots of moving and buying for the new house.

Now for the sewing updates.

1.  Aunt Em's Baskets and Blooms Block of the week.

Here are the first two blocks sewn together.

With the new blogger all my photos download to the my blog all at one time.  I guess next time I will download one project at a time.

2.  Pat Sloan's Bringing Home the Tree Sew Along.  This is the first row.  It's on the back burner right now as I have a few more pressing projects to work on.

3.  Another Pat Sloan BOM.  Out West.  This is the right side third of the quilt.

Here's a close up of September's block.

4. Sentimental Stitches 3030 Block of the week.  I'm still a bit behind on this one but I do have a couple of blocks to share with you.

5.  Seasons BOM.  I had 3 blocks to make this month and then I sewed them to blocks I had made previously where applicable.

6.  Derby House BOM.  This is an applique block from a couple of months ago that I needed to finish.  I simplified this block otherwise I would still be working on it.  I just got the fabrics and patterns for this the final month.  Can't wait to start putting this quilt together.

7.  Annabelle BOM.  This is going to be a 90" x 90" Medallion quilt.  This month I had to sew 2 borders.  The first a plain border and the second was made up of Flying Geese.  It took me 3 days to finish this round.  It's only going to get harder....lol

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you are getting lots of quilting done and staying safe.

It's been a hot Summer

But it's cool in my sewing room in the basement.

I've been getting some sewing done.

1.  I have finished 3 more blocks for the 3030 Block of the week.  I still need to         work on the Medallion Center Block.

2.  Annabelle BOM.  Yep I did it again.  I signed up for another BOM from               Connecting Threads.  This is the first block which is a 24" center block.  I'm           loving the fabric.

3.  Derby House BOM.  Here are this months blocks.  I finally started working on the Applique block from last month.  Yes I am getting behind.  But I'm staying busy.

4.  Jelly Snowflake Sew Along Quilt.  I saw so many beautiful photos of this quilt that the Fat Quarter Shop was sharing.  I just had to make my own.  Just finished the blocks.  I now need to sew them together.

5.  Quilt Doodles BOM.  I fell in love with this month's block.  I want to make an entire quilt using this block.

This is it for now.  I have a few other project to share with you at the end of the month.  Like I said I've been keeping busy.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I look forward to your comments.

Time Flies again!

I had every plan of posting more often...but I didn't.  So I have a lot to share.

1.  Sentimental Stitches 3030 Block of the Week.

Block 1

 Block 2

 Block 3

 Block 4

2.  Bee in My Bonnet Block of the Week.

3.  Barbara Brackman's Yankee Notions.

This is block 6.  It was supposed to machine pieced.  I didn't want to do that so I made a large miss shaped 9 patched and then I appliqued the curved pieces on to the block.  It turned out good.

4.  Celebrating Mary Brown.

This is last month's block.  It took forever to finish.

This is this month's block.  I didn't have enough light when I photographed it.  The background is the same as the first block.

Here are all the blocks for the first two rows (Minus the ones I just finished) put together.  Next up is the 4 block for the corner.

5.  Providence BOM.

These are the blocks for month 4.  So now all the blocks for the quilt are finished.  They are 12" finished blocks.

6.  Mrs. Lincolns Quilt.

These are blocks from Month 10.  I'm working on this quilt with Julie at juliekquilts.blogspot.com.

7.  Derby House BOM.

I have 2 more appliqued seed blocks to finish.  But I knew I wouldn't get them done in time.

8.  A Finish...finally

This is the quilt designed by a group of quilters led by Lori at Humble quilts.  I finally got it bound and a label sewn on the back.  I so love this quilt.

I tried to add links to this post but i can't.  Blogger says it no longer supports this.  Not sure if I like the new blogger...this is the old blogger.

I hope you all enjoyed the photos.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Playing Catch Up

And starting new...

1. I finished the applique block from last month for my Derby House BOM.

I love the fabrics used in this quilt.  They are Mackinaw Island by Minick and Simpson.

2. Quilt Doodles.

These blocks finish at 20".

3.  I started a new quilt project.

It is a new BOW by Bee in my Bonnet using her Christmas book.  This will be a quick quilt.

4.  Another new quilt.

This is the first block for Sentimental Stitches BOW called 3030.  The original used fabrics from the 30's.  I'm going more country colors.

5.  Here's the photo of my finished Rainbow Quilt.

I quilted it in a large cross hatch.

6.  I finished my Salt Water Taffy quilt top.

Hubby held it up outside.  It was a sunny day and the colors look a little washed up.

I'm still working on last month's Mary Brown block.  There are so many tiny leaves and my eyes get tired working on them

Oops, I did it again.  I signed up for another Connecting Threads BOM.  This one will also come with fabric.  It is a Calendar themed quilt.  When I get the first month's package I will show you what it looks like.

I don't think I'm doing too bad for the first week of June.  However, I have so many projects and so little time.

Thanks for stopping by.  I so enjoy hearing your comments.

I'm so Behind

Time just flew by and put me so behind on projects.  The 30th of the month is time for sharing progress on Celebrating Mary Brown.  Unfortunately I have nothing to share.  I've been moving parts of my sewing room to the basement and that took time away from sewing.

Be sure to stop by to see what the following quilters are up to KarenJennie,  RobinNanette, and Rebecca.

I did manage to finish a few things.

1.  Mrs. Lincoln's Quilt.

These are the blocks for Month 9.  I can't believe I've been working on this for so long.

These are the first 9 months worth of blocks sewn together.  I am using the same pink for the corner stones but I am using a different neutral fabric for the sashing.

I'm working on this quilt with Julie.

2.  Derby House BOM

These are the pieced blocks.  There is also a 15" appliqued block which I am about 3/4 of the way done.  As soon as I finish I will post a picture.

3.  Monthly Mini

This is my May mini.  It is 6" x 7".  I really love it.  I'm linking up with Wendy.

4.  I made a new quilt top.

This photo is only a portion of it.  I'll post a photo of the finished top later.  It reminds me of Salt Water Taffy.  It's made using Jelly Rolls.  I didn't realize that it is the same fabric that I am using in the Providence BOM.

I also got the rainbow quilt quilted.  I still need to take a photo of it.  I have my next top to be quilted picked out.  I think this one will be hand quilted.

Our state has finally said we could get together in groups of no more than 10 people.  We got to go over to my Daughter's house and have a BBQ.  It was nice to see some of my family.

I hope you are staying safe and getting some sewing done.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Month End for April

It seems like April flew by.  I got quite a bit done.

1.  Celebrating Mary Brown.

I actually got 2 blocks done this month.  The first is the applique block.  The second is the block I made to replace the feathered star.

2.  These are the next blocks for Mrs. Lincoln's Quilt.

3. Derby House BOM.

This month all the blocks were pieced.  I love the fabric.

4.  Barbara Brackman's Yankee Notions.

5.  Providence BOM

This is the BOM I get from Connecting Threads.

6.  April's Monthly Mini.

For some reason this reminds me of Christmas.  I just finished this yesterday.

I hope you are all doing well with our Stay at home Staycation?  I've gotten a lot of sewing done.  Besides what I have shown you here I've made face masks for my family.  I've now made 4 for my husband.  He keeps asking for different prints.  Who knew.

I also started a new quilt.  I call it salt water taffy.  I have about 15 blocks made.  I'm going to need about 42 blocks.  I have a photo of the blocks to show next month.

All of my doctor followup appointments have been cancelled with the exception of my surgeon.  I have been having pain in my left breast.  That is the one they removed the cancer.  It's really been bothering me.  So they had me come in and see the Paula, the nurse practitioner.  She gave me so much information and said most of the discomfort I am having is from the radiation treatments.  She also showed me some arm exercise that should help.  I needed refills on my meds.  They won't do that unless you come in and see the doctor.  Since they are not seeing patients except for emergencies I was given a telephone appointment.  I was given a time that the doctor would call.  She asked me a bunch of questions and then sent my prescriptions to the pharmacy.  These times are making an impact every where.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
