I Bought This

A while back I purchased the Hard Candy Cosmetics blush from my local Walmart, I mainly was curious about it because it kind of reminded me of the packaging style for the Benefit Cosmetics blushes.

Anyway onto the photos!

Left: heavily swatched Right: blended out lightly

My Rating:  8 out of 10 Feathers

Cost:  $6.00 for Net Wt. 5.7g/0.20 oz (price may vary depending on location)

Availability:  Walmart

Formula:  Very smooth and seemed to blend very easily, I did not find this to be overly powdery at all.

The Packaging:   Box packaging magnet close top that is fairly sturdy, includes a square blush brush that is the standard cheaper quality.

My Final Thoughts:   This blush is very nice for the price point and quality, it is very buttery smooth and blends out well. It has a slight chemical smell but nothing too over powering and of course it fades after you apply it. It wears pretty much all day with minimal fading and gives a beautiful peachy pink glow to the cheeks yet is not overly shimmery. The brush they include is cute but as with most brushes in drugstore brands it's not something I'd use as this one sheds quite a bit even though it did feel quite soft.

Would I purchase again?   Yes, I find this blush to be very smooth and easily blendable. For the price this blush had a great quality, not quite on par with high end but certainly not cheap like you can get with most drugstore brands.

I was the Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream in the Influenster Sunkissed Voxbox recently, since then I have tried it out twice. The thing I have issues with on most foundation type products is that I am extremely, extremely pale and finding a foundation type product that is as pal as I am and doesn't look too dark for my skin tone is REALLY difficult. A little about my skin: I have redness, dryness, dark spots, and irritation spots that sort of look like acne but are not which I get from allergies as of late.

My Rating:   5 out of 10 feathers

Cost:   $14.99 for 2.5 fl oz (75 ml) (price may vary depending on store)

Availability:   Most stores that sell cosmetics.

Formula:   I found that this BB cream has a scent to it, one of the scents you might smell from a sunscreen (of course it has SPF so that would be why). I thought maybe it might go away after it's worn for a bit although I found I could still faintly smell it. It's not necessarily a bad thing as it's not terribly strong, just I'm not one for liking scents on my face unless it's some delicious vanilla or sweet smell. I don't know a ton about BB creams, I do know that per the Asian brands they are supposed to be highly pigmented and really cover up a lot, of course with the US brands they seem to be more of a tinted moisturizer then anything else.

The packaging:  It just has the standard packaging nothing really special to report on it besides the fact it's a squeeze tube which I found to be more sanitary then dipping your fingers in something.

My Final Thoughts:  I think this may have Brightened like it stated a little bit, I didn't find that it smoothed out  my skin or got rid of the dark pigmentation spots I had. I do think it helped my redness but I'm guessing that's from the yellowish tones it has in it. Again for me a BB cream should give more coverage then this did, so I would say it's probably worth skipping if you want something that covers imperfections well.

Would I purchase again?  No. For me it's not really something that gave me a hugely noticeable difference on correcting my skin issues. It did help my redness a bit but I found that it didn't really help correct that much considering it's supposed to be a BB cream I don't think it compares to the true way a BB cream should be. Also I found it to be a bit too dark for my skin (as always with companies they don't think of the extremely pale people).

Disclaimer:
I cannot guarantee that all of the make-up and skincare products I recommend will work for you, I only use products I personally think are good having tried them on my skin. Everyone's skin is different and it's possible to be allergic to anything. Wherever possible, test products out on yourself before purchasing.

Recently I was sent the Influenster Sunkissed Voxbox, one of the items inside was a full size of the Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream in Fair to Light. I have only tried out one BB cream and that was an asian BB cream from Holika Holika so this is the first one I have tried from the US. I will have a review and swatches including a before and after photo of how it looks, my skin is very pale with dark circles, pigmentation, and redness.

For a while now I've been meaning to pick up the Purely Cosmetics Diamond Perfect Finish Powder and recently I finally did. I'm always on the look out for a great face finishing product as I've got really dry aging skin and most I have found tend to settle into the fine lines and pores, and usually looks dry and powdery.

I will be testing this out during this week and will have a review and pictures of how it looks shortly after.

During the month of February Goldiestarling did this amazing makeup tutorial for kind of a Valentine's theme, in it she used Wolfe Cosmetics Hydrocolor Palette as well as Sokolum had also raved about it so I had to buy one.

I don't own any water activated face paint so I REALLY needed some as doing full faced makeup looks are such a pain with just eyeshadows, I will have a review up and swatches in the next couple of weeks.

Have you tried Wolfe Cosmetics before? What's your thoughts?

A while back I had gotten the Tarina Tarantino Pearl Glow Primer as a deluxe sample to test out, I tend to have a ton of primers and foundations already so I don't normally purchase full sizes unless I really love them.

Sephora ended up phasing out the Tarina Tarantino products a while back so I ended up purchasing the primer for $20.00, normally it sells for $32 so I couldn't really pass it up. I will have a full review up on this as well as some swatches of it in the next week or so.
